Review

Jon Russell returns with a brand new JONTEKNIK album. "Sounds from the Electronic Garden" has been a couple of years in the making since working, writing and producing with Paul Humphreys (of OMD) and Claudia Brücken (of Act/Propaganda) on their ONETWO project.

"Sounds from the Electronic Garden" features collaborations with writers/vocalists that Jon approached, including three songs with Bristol’s Iebole, and a song with Scottish singer Blue-Jean Muir as well as Marlonski from Germany and Déborah Lequoque from the French band SENS OF LUNA adding a bit of international flavour.

This is an album filled with instrumental clinical precision. Fans of those electronic pioneers from Düsseldorf will hear their influence throughout the album. This is not denied by Jon who cites the mysterious four as a huge influence throughout his 21 years of music making.

A first taster of "Sounds from the Electronic Garden" was provided in the form of the "King of the Mountains" remixes EP, which gained critical acclaim in Germany, the U.K and the U.S among other territories. The version on the album, which isn't on the EP release, captures the Jonteknik sound in its purest form.

Comes packaged in a plastic digibox.
