Very much a complimentary release to the latest NIN album ( the critically acclaimed and utterly brilliant "Year Zero" ) - and the latest remix album from Trent Reznor since his last opus 2000's "Things Falling Apart". This time Reznor has 'reached out to heroes, friends and strangers' who's efforts are compiled on this release. All featured remixes are of tracks taken from the "Year Zero" album and featured contributors include Ladytron, The Knife and Stephen Morris ( Joy Division / New Order ).

Review The first in Alfa Matrix' re-release of Leaether Strip 's entire back - catalogue heralded as the "Retention" box series. For each album, legendary Danish electronic industrial artist Claus Larsen has fully remastered the original album on Disc 1 while on Disc 2 has totally rewritten and reinterpreted some selected songs from the original album rerecorded with current technologies. Please note : This is not a remixed album, but a totally newly re-recorded album with both discs exclusive to this box set only. Initially released back in 1990, the first milestone of a long, prolific and still current and relevant music career today, "The Pleasure Of Penetration" was Leaether Strip's debut album quickly establishing him as one of the most exciting emerging acts in Europe in the early 90's and one of the leading acts on the cult Zoth Ommog / Music Research label. The original tracklisting of "The Pleasure Of Penetration" has been extended to 15 tracks with the addition of early 12" tracks and other rarities of that period. The second disc "Pleasure Of Reproduction 2007" gathers some 10 selected tracks taken from disc one, totally re-written and re-recorded by LEAETHER STRIP in the 2007 newly upgraded Strip Farm studio, benefiting from today's technologies and Claus Larsen's acquired expertise through the years. Tracks like "Japanese Bodies", "Razor Blades" and "Go Fuck Your Ass Off!" instantly impose the Leaether Strip trademark sound renown for its punishing rhythmic pace and aggressive electronic style with some distorted vocals.
