Review After co-producing Gary Numan's "Jagged" album in 2006 Ade Fenton spent the next few months completing his own solo debut "Artificial Perfect" - a powerful electronic album with elements of Cabaret Voltaire, Nine Inch Nails, Motor, Aphex Twin and Front 242. It's a fluent and cohesively atmospheric collection, opening with the massive, compulsive thrust of "The Leather Sea", one of four tracks featuring Gary Numan on vocals. The single "Healing" is more openly informed by Fenton's career as an underground techno DJ, while "Recall" and "Slide Away" are opulent, dynamically-produced songs that show off Numan's alienated but soulful voice to striking effect. Fenton himself fronts the apocalyptic rock of "Truth", along with the epic-sounding "One Day" and manic closer "Machine". The album's most introspective moment "Everything Changes" is one of two songs featuring Helen Tilley on vocals. The other, "Burn", seduces with a starkly sensual, Bond-like opening before transforming into a psychotic and alf-chanted chorus which is every bit as dark as anything on the album's more overtly heavy tracks. Review Alien Vampires are a collaboration of members from the UK and Italy in a born-again Hard Elektro project that literally takes listeners into the pit of hell and never lets them out again. Some tracks tout haunting female backgrounds, others the urgent throbbing of seduction by evil on the more anti-religious tracks, all insane, all utterly hardcore. Clearly, the band intends to evoke thoughts of torture, satanism and deviance run amok. Alien Vampires prove to be masters of the craft in creating the soundtrack to infernal darkness by combining sexuality and sadism. "No One Here Gets Out Alive" is a flaming cocktail meant for killers who seek to mate with those willing to lend their soft throats to tight hands. These marauders of the electro night have already established themselves as a genuine cult band with a ( dare we say it ) religiously devoted following, and are inch-by-bloody-inch clawing their way to the top of the heap. Carnage is no obstacle for this band - with tracks like "We Are DeadF**k You" and "Rave To The Grave", listeners are given a small clue of the uncensored, trance-laden, crucifix-wielding murderous fury through which AV rumbles and slides on 14 tracks in a conceptually unblinking, totally uncensored layout.
