Welcome to our weekly round-up of forthcoming releases.

IN STRICT CONFIDENCE are back again, rough, edgy and more elaborate than on their previous album. With "La Parade Monstrueuse" ISC create their own sound space, built with darkwave elements, driving rhythms, harsh guitars and playful synth layers. A special limited edition "Collector's Box" features a total of 21 audio tracks, two videoclips, six postcards, and more.

The most distinguished ambassadors of hard electronic sounds from the USA return. The title of GOD MODULE's newest (album-length!) EP, "The Magic in My Heart Is Dead" is pretty programmatic for the horror trip that awaits: unapologetic beats, cold and aggressive screams and a dark atmosphere that make for a sonic scare-fest. This release is VERY LIMITED (1,000 copies).

"Hass und Liebe" is one of the biggest EBM scene-hits to come out of Germany to date! Created in the 90s by ECO (Heiko Daniel), the song managed to climb its way into the all important alternative charts. As part of INFACTED's growing classics series, the label presents for the first time on CD four new/previously unreleased songs, alongside "Hate and Love", the English version of the title track.

Chris Pohl's dark-electro-club-industrial-metal-hybrid TERMINAL CHOICE are returning to the very essence of their sound: thundering techno and break beats mingling with hit-laden melodies, massive riff walls, cynical lyrics and loads of black tongue-in-cheek humour. "Übermacht" is 100% classic TERMINAL CHOICE. The very limited edition of the album also includes seven-track bonus CD.

Here comes the most anxiously anticipated third volume of LEÆTHER STRIP's "Retention" box series, through which Claus Larsen is re-releasing his complete back-catalogue. Once again, the "Retention No. 3" box includes two complementary albums: "Solitary Confinement" and "Voluntary Confinement".

PSY'AVIAH return with their third album so perfectly and aptly entitled "Eclectric"! Emélie's sensual and emotional female vocals give a delicious taste of purity to Yves' futuristic vicious synths and ferocious upbeat electronic arrangements. The deluxe limited edition of the album also features many collaborations on the "Eclectricism" bonus disc, including SEBASTIAN KOMOR, ESSENCE OF MIND and IMPLANT.

The Mexican group KRIMINAL MINDS ignore all 'evil' Hellektro clichés and choose instead to celebrate music as an uncontrollable outcry of rage against oppression, the system and the dismal world we live in. With ultra-brutal shouts, versatile arrangements and a musical bandwidth spanning from club-compatible beats to all-out noisy industrial onslaughts, "Resistance Against..." is a sonic pamphlet that will shake up more than just your floorboards. For fans of HOCICO.

Often described as one of the most promising talents signed by Alfa Matrix in 2009, the Dutch act SCHWARZBLUT now deliver "Das Mausoleum", a ten-track album that reveals the rich artistic versatility and mature song-writing potential of SCHWARZBLUT, who blend romantic melancholic Weimar poetry with danceable dark electronic music. Recommended for fans of GOETHES ERBEN, DAS ICH, BLUTENGEL and HEIMATAERDE. The limited deluxe carton box edition contains the bonus disc "Die Krypta".

INFACTED RECORDINGS and producer Vasi Vallis (FROZEN PLASMA, NAMNAMBULU) present a brand new electropop artist, in the vein of old DE/VISION, CAMOUFLAGE and ELEGANT MACHINERY. On "X" X-DIVIDE combine strong melodies and powerful rhythms with the great voice of singer/songwriter Eric.

MASSIVE ATTACK are back with their fifth studio album "Heligoland", featuring guest vocals from Damon Albarn (BLUR) amongst others.

"One Life Stand" is the stunning fourth studio album from HOT CHIP. An album that is awash with the band's trademark creative bravery and a searing emotional intensity from the first track to the last. Also available as a CD+DVD release.

CLASSIX NOUVEAUX formed from the ashes of X RAY SPEX. Their heavily made up, theatrical image led them to be quickly associated with the New Romantic movement as they filled the alternative dance floor with their synth-driven beats. "The Liberty Singles Collection", featuring both A and B sides (some of which have never been on CD before), is a must have for any fan.

With "Necrologio" THE HOUSE OF USHER have written their own obituary. The act's first ever DVD offers more than three hours of video material with many never-before released video tracks and a total of four hours of audio material.

Gigs

Gotham 11
sees the return of the one-day Goth festival to London, with CLAN OF XYMOX and THE EDEN HOUSE topping the bill.

Have a great week!

NEW RELEASES
In Strict Confidence La Parade Monstrueuse £13.25
Review
The curtain rises for a parade of the glamorous and fascinating freaks, celebrating the dark side of life in a morbid cabaret.

IN STRICT CONFIDENCE are back again. Rough, edgy and more elaborate than on their previous album. It took three years to finish the work, and they have clearly used that time to good effect. What has been hinted at by the EP "My Despair" has been honed to perfection on the album "La Parade Monstrueuse". Welcome to a world beyond the mirrors.

IN STRICT CONFIDENCE have collected together various fragments - not only of their own musical history - like the shards of a broken mirror, and put them together to form a new entity. This cabinet of mirrors is full of surprises between the old familiar and the new where you will get lost completely. Dark romantic melodies with their unneglectable rhythmic electro roots ascend far beyond the imagination. Hooklines burn themselves into the brain, refusing to let you escape even as your legs begin to dance. Fragile, multilayered arrangements perfectly reflect the atmosphere of that parallel world and are opposed by rough guitar chords.

With "La Parade Monstrueuse" ISC demonstrate again their exceptional position. They create their own sound space, built with darkwave elements, driving rhythms, harsh guitars and playful synthlayers. Above all, the dark and raw voice of Dennis Ostermann is enthrowned, leading you through this glamorous world. A world that also contains some be-witched moments, like the vocals of the new singer, Nina de Lianin. The record is topped with extravagant artwork, contained in a 20-page booklet.

Let yourselves be abducted into this beautiful, fascinating parallel universe. All the waiting has been worthwhile!

God Module The Magic in My Heart Is Dead £10.75
Review
The most distinguished ambassadors of hard electronic sounds from the USA return. The title of the group's newest (album-length!) EP, "The Magic in My Heart Is Dead" is pretty programmatic for the horror trip that awaits: unapologetic beats, cold and aggressive screams and a dark atmosphere that make for a sonic scare-fest leaving no place for sunlight. What distinguishes GOD MODULE from most of their genre colleagues are the skilfully implemented melodic trance licks and the new wave and synthpop influences that conjure up little specks of brightness in the midst of all the pandemonium, providing their trip to hell with an amazingly catchy touch.

The US-based group's standout qualities are firmly set in stone on the five new tracks on this new CD. A further six versatile remixes from trademark names on the electronic scene such as ASHBURY HEIGHTS, AESTHETIC PERFECTION and PROJECT PITCHFORK top off this massive electro inferno...

This release is VERY LIMITED, with only 1000 copies available, so order quickly. A perfect appetizer for the upcoming new album!

Terminal Choice Übermacht £14.00
Review
"We're back! And we're better than before!" When an artist goes about boasting such a statement over their latest album, it must mean that they are mighty sure of themselves. Anno 2010 A.D., and Chris Pohl's dark-electro-club-industrial-metal-hybrid TERMINAL CHOICE are returning to the very essence of their sound: thundering techno- and break beats mingling with hit-laden melodies, massive riff walls, cynical lyrics and loads of black tongue-in-cheek humour.

Stadium-compatible trance riffs are served hot on hard guitar attacks, whilst the electronic elements play the kind of dominant role that made early TC albums instant floor fillers. "Übermacht" is 100% classic TERMINAL CHOICE reloaded... sporting a much larger, more massive and intense sound than ever before! Jumpstyle on Neue Deutsche Härte? Dark techno at the headbanger's ball? Call it what you like, but on their new album this band simply grind into the ground anything that chooses to stand in their way. They ARE back! And they ARE better than before! ...And the Joker dances to a thudding electro beat with a wide grin.

Leæther Strip Retention No. 3 (Solitary Confinement + Voluntary Confinement) £25.25
Review
Here comes the most anxiously anticipated third volume of LEÆTHER STRIP's "Retention" box series through which Claus Larsen is re-releasing his complete back-catalogue. Each re-release has both the fully remastered version of the original album (with special bonus material) on disc one and on the second disc, totally rewritten and re-interpreted versioms of some selected songs from the original album re-recorded with current technologies.

Once again, the "Retention No. 3" box includes two complementary albums: the first of which is the "Solitary Confinement" CD remastered by Claus Larsen himself, giving a stronger and wider sound to this chef d'oeuvre while staying very faithful to the original work. The original tracklist has also been extended to 16 tracks with the addition of tracks from the "Material" EP.

Next comes the "Voluntary Confinement" CD which gathers some 10 selected tracks taken from disc one, totally re-written and re-recorded by LEÆTHER STRIP in the 2009 upgraded Strip Farm studio, benefiting from today's technologies and Claus Larsen's acquired expertise through the decades. Add to this two brand new songs with "Voluntary Confinement" and "The AEnd", as well as a very cool melodic "Tæknopop" version of the interstellar hit "Strap Me Down".

"Solitary Confinement" is without any doubt the album that has forever seated the Danish artist on the throne of classic dark EBM. An album frothing with countless club hits in the likes of "Strap Me Down", "Adrenalin Rush" and "Evil Speaks"... an album that established LEÆTHER STRIP as THE reference point for aggressive electronics with distorted vocals performed with a strong sense for melody and carrying choruses. The fully extended power blast is a guarantee for LEÆTHER STRIP's faithful and ever growing fanbase. The "Retention" series proves once and for all that Electronic Body Music is NOT dead and allows the younger fan generation to discover the early work of the living legend LEÆTHER STRIP. Once again a series proving that good old giants still have what it takes to command today's dancefloors. These discs are NOT available separately and are only sold in this deluxe carton box.

Psy'aviah Eclectric £13.00
Review
Since their creation in 2003, Belgium's electronic music trio PSY'AVIAH have always adopted a more open-minded artistic approach to music, not being pulled by the current trends or other obvious scene expectations. By constructing their musical pallet from their own experiences, exploring multiple sub-cultures, meeting different people and artists, and incorporating all these numerous impressions and visual influences into their own work, PSY'AVIAH are truly an artistic force to be reckoned with. Altogether a refreshing and successful recipe for this third album so perfectly and aptly entitled "Eclectric"! And it's no surprise to us that PSY'AVIAH hits a very diversified audience with their music reaching fans of electronic music but also of more alternative pop rock tunes and even dark industrial wave.

Emélie's sensual and emotional female vocals give a delicious taste of purity to Yves' futuristic vicious synths and ferocious upbeat electronic arrangements. An exploding cocktail of attractions and contradictions braving all the rules of what should be forbidden, fusing modern techno with melodic pop rock, poignant dark EBM sequences with ambient relaxing moments. PSY'AVIAH will surely again perplex music journalists who desperately try to pigeonhole them into a specific musical genre/category. Regardless of definitions and genres, PSY'AVIAH will above all bring us splendid emotional moments with their more down-tempo moody songs in the likes of "Blackhole", "Attract/Reject" and "Something Evil", while pushing us straight onto the dancefloors with new club hits "Anger Management", the provocative "No Excuse" and the dynamic and poppy "Keep Hope Alive".

Faithful to their concept, the Belgian act also continue developing a network of fruitful collaborations bringing us this time impressive results on "Ophélie" featuring Jean-Luc De Meyer of FRONT 242 as guest 'poet' and the dancefloor filler "Into The Game" with Jennifer Parkin of AYRIA as lead vocalist.

Kriminal Minds Resistance Against... £14.00
Review
When a hard electro legend such as Racso Agroyam (sound wizard of HOCICO) takes a band under his wing you can be sure that it must be a rather special act indeed. The Mexican group KRIMINAL MINDS ignore all 'evil' Hellectro clichés and choose instead to celebrate music as an uncontrollable outcry of rage against oppression, the system and the dismal world we live in. With ultra-brutal shouts, versatile arrangements and a musical bandwidth spanning from club-compatible beats to all-out noisy industrial onslaughts, "Resistance Against..." is a sonic pamphlet that will shake up more than just your floorboards. Of course, Racso Agroyam's production is omnipresent but KRIMINAL MINDS have so many interesting ideas of their own and are so full of irresistible rage that their music is much more than a mere 'little brother of Hocico'. At a time when almost all hard electro bands tend to sound the same, KRIMINAL MINDS are refreshingly versatile, candid and sport an honest brutality!

Schwarzblut Das Mausoleum £13.00
Review
Often described as one of the most promising talents signed by Alfa Matrix in 2009, the Dutch act SCHWARZBLUT now deliver this impressive follow-up album to last year's "Sehlenwolf" EP.

"Das Mausoleum" is a ten-track album that reveals the rich artistic versatility and mature song-writing potential of SCHWARZBLUT, who blend romantic melancholic Weimar poetry with danceable dark electronic music. An eclectic diversity of style that accentuates a beautiful duality between male and female vocalists. With the rich depth of an artistic touch, SCHWARZBLUT cover such a wide musical range that they have been compared to bands as diverse as QNTAL, VNV NATION and even SKINNY PUPPY! SCHWARZBLUT surprise the listener by mixing pounding electro rhythms, harmonic choirs, distorted vocals, cutting leads, grandiloquent orchestras, dark romanticism and German lyrical poetry from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Friedrich von Schiller and Karoline von Günderrode.

From the pillars of pounding EBM/industrial of tracks like "Das Mandat" and "Sterbelied", to the lush orchestral bombastic arrangements of songs like "Nähe des Geliebten" and "Bei der Nacht", through more experimental ambient elector pieces, SCHWARZBLUT shine on all levels. "Das Mausoleum" is a chef d’oeuvre that comes strongly recommended for fans of German-speaking dark artists from GOETHES ERBEN to DAS ICH to BLUTENGEL, PLASTIC NOISE EXPERIENCE and HEIMATAERDE.

Massive Attack Heligoland £13.75
Review
MASSIVE ATTACK are a seminal group of musical innovators whose early work detonated the Bristol music scene of the early 90s and unwittingly gave birth to 'trip-hop'. The group formed in 1987 around their influential and legendary Dug Out Club and Jamaican-style soundsystem. The club played a groundbreaking blend of hip hop, new wave reggae, early house and techno which shaped their hugely acclaimed 1991 debut, "Blue Lines".

Their fifth studio album "Heligoland" features guest vocals from Damon Albarn, Hope Sandoval, Martina Topley-Bird, Guy Garvey and Tunde Adebimpe. Long time cohort Horace Andy makes a return alongside MASSIVE ATTACK founding members Robert Del Naja and Grant Marshall. Damon also plays bass on "Flat of the Blade" and keyboards on "Splitting the Atom" while PORTISHEAD's Adrian Utley plays guitar on "Saturday Come Slow". The band also collaborated with DFA's Tim Goldsworthy on selected tracks.

Hot Chip One Life Stand £13.75
Review
HOT CHIP are back with their stunning fourth studio album. "One Life Stand" is a full-blooded leap into the unknown, an album that is awash with HOT CHIP's trademark creative bravery and a searing emotional intensity from the first track to the last. Indeed, "One Life Stand" is by far and away HOT CHIP's most complete body of work to date, an album that is more cohesive and more soulful than 2007's ambidextrous "Made in the Dark" and more ambitious than 2005's Mercury-nominated and Grammy Award-nominated "The Warning". "One Life Stand" is an album that establishes HOT CHIP as one of the most relevant and creative bands of our era.

With Joe Goddard, Alexis Taylor, Felix Martin, Al Doyle and Owen Clarke at the helm it is no surprise that they borrow, create and take inspiration from a plethora of influences. "One Life Stand" sees a proliferation of influences as diverse as the burgeoning UK funky scene to soul music, modern R&B, northern soul, gospel, golden age electronica, detroit house, southern soul, the sounds of ARTHUR RUSSELL, PRINCE and THEO PARISH, and they all sit effortlessly alongside the band's signature pop aesthetics, wild electronics, off-kilter beats and intoxicating musical experimentation in a way that only HOT CHIP can execute.

The songs for "One Life Stand" were largely written around the piano, the Wurlitzer, or the Prophet keyboard, and demoed at Alexis' and Joe's respective home studios. They were then taken to Lanark Studio which Al and Felix own and run, to be fully produced and fleshed out with the three remaining band members. In addition, recording contributions from legendary innovators of their respective fields Charles Hayward (THIS HEAT), and Fimber Bravo (STEEL'N'SKIN), as well as newer musicians Leo Taylor (THE INVISIBLE), and string arrangers and experimental composers Emma Smith and Vince Sipprell (GEESE), were added to elevate the record further.

The finished record is HOT CHIP's most up-front, coherent and melodically bold release to date; an uncluttered, warm and soulful, uplifting and heart-on-sleeve collection. Featuring the archetypal Hot Chip song, title track and first single, "One Life Stand", built on a metronomic but pulsing groove, and reaching up to a joyously simple/naive chorus of monogamous embracement, the album is from start to finish one of love - euphoric, nostalgic, brotherly, realistic even. It is mainly a sequence of club stompers - from the anthemic "Hand Me Down Your Love" to the life-affirming absurdist black humour of "I Feel Better" - tempered with the contemplative, tender realism of "Slush", and the romantic melancholy of "Alley Cats". Take it in, if you will; it's all for you.

Classix Nouveaux The Liberty Singles Collection £10.50
Review
CLASSIX NOUVEAUX formed from the ashes of X RAY SPEX when the band auditioned for a new front person in the Melody Maker after the sudden departure of their wild wailer POLY STYRENE. The enigmatic SAL SOLO was chosen by guitarist Jak Airport and drummer BP Hurding and with the addition of bassist Mik Sweeney from Sal's previous band THE NEWS, a soon-to-be cult band was born. Their heavily made up, theatrical image led them to be quickly associated with the New Romantic movement as they filled the alternative dance floor with their synth-driven beats, though their sound was more guitar-oriented than that of their peers JAPAN and ULTRAVOX. "The Liberty Singles Collection", featuring both A and B sides (some of which have never been on CD before), is a must have for any fan of CLASSIX NOUVEAUX, and a perfect starting point for anyone who has missed this criminally ignored band.

With "Necrologio" THE HOUSE OF USHER have written their own obituary. This may appear morbid in some manner, but it doesn't mean that the band have reached their end of days, since they proved their vitality with their actual album "Angst" in February last year. Keep the fire burning!

Genocide Organ Leichenlinie 1989-2009 £16.00
Review
20 years have passed since "Leichenlinie" was released for the first time (the first EVER release on Tesco!), and it has now been 10 years since it was released for the second time. And now it shines again as the totally remastered 20 years anniversary edition. Complete with two additional tracks, recorded around the same time and formerly released on the Monochrome Meditator MC only (SSSM/Japan 1991). This material is one of the most wanted records of all time in this genre!

And even today, "Leichenlinie" remains an outstanding release in the german post-industrial music genre. The well-balanced music contains power electronic rhythm-based tracks as well as dark drowning ambient pieces with haunting samples. Tracks like "Klaus Barbie", "Mind Control" and "Come Orgasm" have been played on many radio stations and at many clubs and parties for the past 20 years. The two additional tracks, so far unknown to the majority, are fitting perfectly to the line-up of the early industrial rhythm-driven sound of the band. The CD comes in a nice spot varnished digipak with the logo embossed on the front cover. This album is still a milestone in Europeon "post industrial" music, letting loose a new creative energy in a genre which was thought to be dead.

The Twilight Garden A World We Pretend £13.50
Review
THE TWILIGHT GARDEN mixes atmospheric synths and catchy melodies and fuses them with hypnotic drum beats, lush guitar work, and elegantly powerful vocals from sole band-member Todd Loomis. Todd passionately blends old school European synthpop, cold wave and post-punk into a modern, atmospheric, accessible darkwave sound. Imagine the "Disintegration"-era of THE CURE with more emphasis on the electronics. Todd's previous life was as a co-conspirator in VELVET ACID CHRIST, co-writing and performing on 2006's "Lust for Blood", which ranked at the top of Germany's DAC for 4 weeks; the album's single "Wound", ranked on the DAC's singles chart for 7 weeks and held the #1 position for 4 weeks.

"I started The Twilight Garden shortly after I finished working with Bryan Erickson of VAC," Todd explains. "Like myself, Bryan also can be quite depressive, misanthropic, wary and alienated. We related easily, and from our mutual interest in music sprang the album 'Lust for Blood'. After the completion of that album, I had so much else I wanted to do and say - many ideas and things I needed to put into tangible form - so I began the creation of what would become 'A World We Pretend'. During the recording, there were moments of sadness, happiness, loneliness, and bliss - as with everything I experience or create. All moments are fleeting, and all things end. When put into a recording though, something transient can be fixed in time and given extended life. It reflects an instant which can never again exist, and even more spectacularly, music allows that energy to live in someone else for a time. The title track is largely about the beauty of the moment and the anguish that comes along with fate: a mix of ecstasy and emptiness."

The album explores the darker side of truth as it mirrors life: the weight of inevitability, sadness, frustration, indifference, anger, loneliness, claustrophobia, etc. Todd ponders the desperation of time, sands falling through the hourglass, the end creeping forward, and our own powerlessness in the face of finality. There is a deep sense of sorrow in the music, a haunted awareness that time is running out. "I can never seem to rid myself of this feeling for more than a flitting moment," Todd says. "It's just a part of my life. Nothing can last forever, and all things will pass. I do my best to find beauty in the struggle of human existence - to find little pieces of joy or wonder. I believe some of that has been captured on this album."

The sweeping sound is warm and emotional yet at times filled with a deep chill. Instrumentation is predominately synth-based with guitars providing a swirling wall of texture: melodic at times, yet mainly harmonic and organic. Spellbinding drums are slightly repetitive and almost dance-like. Vocals range from a soft whisper to full verbal onslaught. Overall, "A World We Pretend" is a passionate outpouring of deep and enduring melancholy. Poetic and flowing, the album provides beautiful atmospheres of stark images and emotion.

Tho-So-Aa Identify £16.00
Review
"Identify" is the long-awaited ambient masterpiece from THO-SO-AA, finally ready after seven years in the making.

This is the German outfit's most complex and dense album to date. Some of the tracks portray threatening collages and experimental loops, so close to the difference between freedom and captivity. Other tracks are surrounded by melancholic soundscapes and dark bass drones inspired by desperation and total sadness.

In recent Years Lutz Rach has spent much time working with sounds to perfect these thick layers and drones that have never surfaced in his music before. This is no longer pure dark ambient music, it is enriched by industrial elements, the experimental use of classical instruments, voice samples and a general cry against isolation. The dark soundscapes expose a very cynical point of view on our sick society, describing the unknown pressure to identify with yourself...

The wait was worth it, with this THO-SO-AA delivers his masterpiece to date.

Changes Lament £16.00
Review
CHANGES' R. N. Taylor and Nicholas Tesluk have sung of new love, love unrequited and love lost. They've written songs painting sonic imagery foretelling a dark apocalyptic future, and even as this came to pass, they prophesyed a society in the seminal stages of an even darker fate. With their new album, "Lament", they turn their gaze inward, to their own personal apocalypses, stemming from their long marriages ending in dismal dissolution. They tell of their dark, oppressive inner worlds that sought to drive them beyond the brink of despair. Only by being able to immerse themselves in their art and create works expressing these sorrows would they be able to maintain their sanity. "Lament" reaches out to all who've had their lives disrupted by modern societal partners going through mid-life crises, becoming antagonistic strangers to their families overnight.

Also included are new versions of three of CHANGES' earlier works: "The Saddest Thing", "Sweet Eve" and "Memorabilia", included as these songs merged well with the album's concept.

Various Artists The Minimal Wave Tapes Volume One £11.75
Review
Minimal Wave: both a genre of underground DIY electronic music from North America and Europe in the late 1970s and 80s, and the name of the label devoted to unearthing these recordings. "The Minimal Wave Tapes" is the first official anthology of minimal wave music from this label. Most of the songs were originally released on limited edition cassettes or vinyl by the artists themselves, and only a handful of people knew about them. They've been remastered from their analog source tapes and compiled here by Minimal Wave's Veronica Vasicka and Stones Throw Records's Peanut Butter Wolf.

The label itself was founded in New York City in 2005 by Veronika Vasicka, who focused solely on obscure minimal wave recordings, remastering and releasing them on limited vinyl and digital. "The Minimal Wave Tapes" fits neatly into Stones Throw's own tradition of compiling or reissuing the independent music of the past which influences the independent music we make today. This compilation is essential for fans of the likes of KRAFTWERK, CABARET VOLTAIRE, THROBBING GRISTLE, DEVO, GLASS CANDY and NITE JEWEL.

Suicide Commando Implements of Hell £14.56
Review
The fascination of evil. There are few bands that manage to adapt the most extreme sides of human behaviour to club-compatible electronic sounds as effectively as SUICIDE COMMANDO, the evil musical brainchild of Belgian hard electro legend Johan van Roy. On his newest long player "Implements of Hell", he effectively pulls out all the stops of a career spanning more than two decades to send the listener on a rollercoaster ride through all the hellish ingredients that make for the sonic phenomenon known as SUICIDE COMMANDO. Lashing aggro-dance tracks like the single "Die Motherf*cker Die" alternate with heavy, dark and rhythmic synthesizer monsters that are not only a massive modern-day reminiscence of the early works of the band, but that also make "Implements of Hell" the darkest excess from SUICIDE COMMANDO ever, and the most menacing dance album of the last few years. Had Charles Manson been wreaking havoc in the Techno Age, his music would probably have sounded like this. The killer is striking terror into people's hearts on the dance floor... and you, sure as hell, won't be able to escape him this time!

The regular version of the album features 11 tracks, including the two previously released single cuts, of which "Until We Die" is a different 'album edit'.

Vomito Negro Skull and Bones £15.07
Review
At a time when every band that puts together tracks using a standard sound module and vocal distortion unit in their bedroom is hyped as the new hope in "Harsh Electro" or "Dark Electro", an album like "Skull and Bones" feels like a cleansing shock. Belgian legend VOMITO NEGRO, who have been active since the mid 80S, still celebrate their sound with an intensity, creativity and passion that makes most recent hard electro projects seem like a weekend trip to Disneyland. The spirit of "Skull and Bones" is of the deepest black... no hope, no mercy! Rhythmic loops thud relentlessly under dark soundscapes and the heavily manipulated shouts leave no room for sunny feelings. Even after being active for more than a quarter of a century, VOMITO NEGRO are still a trademark name for a club-compatible trip to hell that is bound to stir up, unsettle and electrify.

The new album from one of the pioneers of the dark side of electronic music will be released as a limited first edition with a bonus disc that contains spectacular versions of the the group's biggest hits, among them some of the greatest EBM classics of all time!

Signal Aout 42 Vae Victis £15.07
Review
The legendary Belgian electro act SIGNAL AOUT 42 is renowned for more than just hard beats, monotonous warbling bass and the standard club staples: the music is an intense and atmospheric trip to the dark side of humanity. Massive analog sounds, hypnotic tribal rhythms, thudding EBM beats and the raw deep voice of Jacky Meurisse meld to epic tracks in an electronic spectacular that sounds like the sonic adaptation of a collaboration between H.P. Lovecraft and David Lynch. The creative approach to sound design, the soundtrack-esque and overwhelming synthesizer pads are combined with monumental sonic constructs, memorable melodies and cunningly dosed beat infernos to result in music that easily surpasses the standard approaches common to the alternative club scene. There is an electronic life apart from the preset sounds that the scene seems to revel in these days. It is almost ironic that this veteran of electronic music has to go to show the young creative heads of today how to turn an electronic album into an adventure again.

"Vae Victis" is released as a limited first edition including a bonus maxi CD with exclusive remixes from the Northern Alliance (ATOPIC, BAK XIII, BUZZ, DARKMEN, GRANCHAOS, IMPLANT, K-BEREIT and VOID KAMPF.)

Mnemonic Denkmodell £16.50
Review
The project MNEMONIC, based around Michal Belletz and Sebastian Schulz, has been around on the electronic music scene for quite a while now, with ever increasing resonance and respect from both fans and media. The first two MNEMONIC albums "Identifikationsstörung" and "Konstruktive Vergangenheitsbewältigung" were published by Alfa Matrix. They are very different to the third album "Monokultur", released on French label M-Tronic. On this new, very limited release on Halbsicht Records, MNEMONIC further develop their unique sound, based on the foundations laid in "Monokultur". The song structure appears less chiseled and thereby creates a transparent ambience where catchy tunes form a perfect symbiosis with intelligent entangled beats, casting a spell over the audience.

Peter Hope & Jonathan S Podmore Method Dry Hip Rotation £17.25
Review
Material by Peter Hope (ex THE BOX, a CLOCK DVA offshoot) recorded with CABARET VOLTAIRE's Richard H Kirk, David Harrow and Jonathan S Podmore. Somewhere in between EBM and industrial, this classic stands out as one of the most original albums ever recorded. Digitally remastered for this release by Kevin Metcalfe, and including a bonus track.

Using mainly household objects and very few real instruments, the album was recorded within a few days in England in 1986 with guests such as Charlie Collins of CLOCK DVA and Alan Fisch of HULA. Hope and Podmore wanted to record an album that went beyond the known structures of rhythmic electronic music - something utterly original and unknown before. "Dry Hip Rotation" still stands as a totally unique recording that cannot be classified by any musical genre or style.

Atomine Elektrine Archimetrical Universe [Re-Mixed] £16.25
Review
Re-mixed version of "Archimetrical Universe", including the bonus tracks from the extra limited CDr boxed version of the album "Nebulous".

This edition comes in a nice digipak with new design. Peter Andersson (RAISON D' ÊTRE, STRATVM TERROR, SVASTI-AYANAM, NECROPHORUS) is one of a handful of the finest sound manipulators in the world. "Archimetrical Universe" showcases Peter's dissection of the sky, a Caesarean Section that births massive, geometrically perfect sonic diversions, all spheres and angles, burnished metal dreams and pristine sonic caresses that reconfigure sound into smooth surfaces. To counterbalance the exactness of the sonic development, light rhythms emerge, huge slabs of disruptive tone, the scattered remnants of all of Peter's projects utilized in the creation of the music here. Everything seems to be in perpetual motion, evolving, revolving, reinvented at the mercy of Peter's deft hands and devious whim. The clarity of production and meticulous restructuring of the known (space, stars, planets) with the unknown (space...stars...planets...) only heightens the journey upon which he guides us, an alluring venture into the cavernous realm of space... but not a space most of us would imagine. Whether he is sonically scrubbing the architecture, or just mesmerizing us with another sound sculpture at the edge of forever, "Archimetrical Universe" is, quite possibly, Peter's finest release yet. And that's saying a lot because his sonic portfolio runneth over with intoxicating, mind-altering sound manipulations that inspire one's imagination with conflicting emotional responses (sorrow, desolation, awe, wonder) at all times. Space is an illusion... but Peter has brought it to life. Essential!

Seelenlicht Love and Murder £14.00
Review
After nearly two years, Butow Maler and Troy Southgate present "Love and Murder", their new opus, following their amazing debut "Gods and Devils" on Cold Spring.

Accompanied by psychedelic guitar riffs, this album is far more song-based than their debut album and SEELENLICHT follow the neoclassical path with sophistication and dynamism. From the social abyss of humanity and bittersweet murder ballads, to dark rune-prayers and the absurdity and brutality of World War One upon the bloody fields of Flanders‚ "Love and Murder" also devotes attention to Romantic literature by setting to music the poetry of Novalis and Percy Bysshe Shelley. Guests including Dev (WHILE ANGELS WATCH), Josef Klumb (VON THRONSTAHL) and Wulf Ingessunu (WODEN'S FOLK) complete the apocalyptic cocktail of darkfolk and neoclassical.

Packaged in a digipak with a booklet sleeve and 16-page booklet inside.

Dark Sanctuary Dark Sanctuary £12.75
Review
"Dark Sanctuary" is the seventh full length album by leading French goth/ethereal act DARK SANCTUARY. This self-titled album follows on from the two-part conceptual album "Exaudi Vocem Meam" released a few years ago. The band took a break after that and finally managed to put together their most sophisticated album to date, taking care of every single detail, including self production and recording/mixing. Instead the external input this time came in the form of an exceptional set of illustrations and artwork made exclusively for this album by world-renowned Spanish gothic artist Victoria Frances. The album also follows a recent stunning concert that the band performed in London's St. Pancras cathedral: an incredible event performed in a one-of-a-kind scenario that was filmed for a future DVD release.

Nitzer Ebb Body Of Work 1984-1997 £14.05
Review
The original EBM duo, Nitzer Ebb cut a dynamic swathe through the Hard Beat / Industrial Music / EBM scene of the 1980's and 90's with their teutonic beats and aggressive sound characterised by powerful rhythms, minimal sequenced hooklines and fierce, chanted lyrics..They were one of the original electro-punks before the genre even existed, at a time when The Prodigy were not even a gleam in fellow Essex boy Liam Howlett's eye. Nitzer Ebb went on to sell over 100,000 records in the United States alone, tour with Depeche Mode and have influenced pioneering DJs and producers such as Richie Hawtin, Darren Emerson, Sven Vaeth, DJ Hell, Tom Stephan, Danny Tenaglia as well as rock-gods Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails. Now they return with long overdue Double Disc collection "Body Of Work 1984-1997" bringing together all 19 of their hit singles on Disc 1 together with Classic Remixes, Exclusive B-Sides and Rare tracks on Disc 2. "Body Of Work 1984-1997" delivers a timely reminder of one of the most influential and ground breaking acts of the EBM / Underground Electronic scene...

XP8 Drop the Mask £13.25
Review
Aimed at the heart of the dancefloor, XP8's music keeps listeners moving through the night in timeless waves, emitting subtle hints of the 1980s while slipping easily into the sounds of the new millennium: glitchy patterns, sharp simulated strings, and clear vocals travelling through bright sequences and brooding atmospheres.

XP8 began in 2001 as a trio including previous singer Paul Toohill. Melding an airy blend of EBM, electronica, techno and trance, the band brought their various visions and talents to life with synthetic vibrancy and danceable beats, while crossing electronic genres with relative ease. Over the years that followed, they made a name for themselves with their energetic live performances and their much sought-after remix work.

Exactly two years after the previous album "The Art of Revenge", "Drop the Mask" is a further evolution of the band's sound, showing the duo of Marco Visconti and Marko Resurreccion taking their collective music prowess to new heights. It's time to grow real fast... it's time to drop the mask...

Collide These Eyes Before £14.05
Review
If you’re already familiar with COLLIDE, you will surely know that the duo's brave, forward-looking electronic sound is deeply grounded in a fusion of diverse influences. Over the years, singer Karin and producer Statik have proven themselves to be gifted interpreters as well as courageous innovators. But nothing in the group's history will sufficiently prepare you for "These Eyes Before": a set of ten mainstream classics, each one completely reimagined.

COLLIDE are well-established and extremely respected on the underground music scene. Each album they have released has been met with overwhelming critical success. "These Eyes Before" is the band's fifth regular studio album release and is expected to receive a lot of attention.

Angels of Venice Ancient Delirium (featuring Charles Edward) £12.26
Review
After many years of complete silence ("Awake Inside a Dream" was released in 2002 on Accession Records!), Carol Tatum and her ANGELS OF VENICE return with an all new album, recorded with Charles Edward, vocalist from the industrial/goth/rock band SERAPHIM SHOCK. Emerging from the heart and soul of harpist/composer/producer Carol, the the sound of ANGELS OF VENICE is ethereal, joyous, firey, lush, mysterious and elegant. Driven by harp, flute, cello, hammered dulcimer and exotic percussion, and accompanied by world instruments such as udu, doumbek, oud, hurdy gurdy, bouzouki and recorder, this group combines middle eastern, medieval and neoclassical styles to create an aural landscape that is at once compelling and provocative.
