Having spent most of this year taking their acclaimed "Tour of the Universe" around the world, DEPECHE MODE bring their sensational live show to the UK in December and release an indispensable 8-track CD to go with it. The MCD features "Fragile Tension", "Hole to Feed" and some very special remixes of tracks from their twelfth studio album "Sounds of the Universe".
"Symbols & Clouds - Euro Cross Commemorative Edition" from DEATH IN JUNE is a double CD in a stone box with round cards, silver runes and a cloth patch. This very special soapstone and laser-engraved granite release assembles onto one CD the best of 1992's "But, What Ends When the Symbols Shatter?" and 1995's "Rose Clouds of Holocaust" albums, plus two rare single tracks from the same period. It also includes a second CD featuring re-recorded, stripped back acoustic 'Totenpop' versions of fifteen of these classics, recorded shortly after the final tour in June 2005. Limited to 1,000 copies - ORDER FAST!!!
The PET SHOP BOYS' new single "Christmas" features completely new versions of "All Over the World", a track which appears on their latest album "Yes", and "It Doesn't Often Snow at Christmas", originally an exclusive Christmas single issued to members of their fan club in 1997. The EP also features the PET SHOP BOYS' arrangement of the MADNESS classic, "My Girl", and a medley of COLDPLAY's "Viva la Vida" and the PET SHOP BOYS classic "Domino Dancing".
ROME's new 'Chanson Noir' "L'Assassin" again brings us the darker side of singer/songwriter tradition: post-industrial folk with bits and pieces of electronic pop, complex arrangements of breathtaking melodies, mesmerising ballads of lyrical beauty, underlining ROME's ethos of never faltering or remaining uninvolved. This EP features four songs, among which the exclusive and intimate track "One Flesh". Also comes as a limited collector's set of the new MCD plus a t-shirt.
Rising from the ashes of the SEX PISTOLS in 1978, PUBLIC IMAGE LTD were by definition one of the pioneering post-punk groups. To coincide with their UK live dates in December their most popular and critically acclaimed studio album has been given the complete remastering treatment. PiL's second album "Metal Box", released in Dec 1979, was originally released on three 45 rpm discs housed in a metal film canister. Now remastered for the first time, it will be released on three CDs in a metal tin case to pay homage to the original. To supplement "Metal Box" the long-deleted "Plastic Box" album is also being re-issued. Originally released in 1999, the 4CD album provides a complete overview the band's work.
!DISTAIN were founded in 1992, and five studio albums and one remix album later they release "Anthology (1992-2010)" - the ultimate 'best of' from one of Germany's best known electropop/dark wave acts.
"The Stains of the Embodied Sacrifice" is the new studio album by RAISON D'ÊTRE. Violent and intense, it is a hell of an ordeal, but withstand it and you are promised bliss.
"Phrenitis" is the sixth album from ATRIUM CARCERI. The evolution of sound is spot-on and sets ATRIUM CARCERI apart from other lazy dark ambient acts by being a truly diverse piece, replete with details upon details to make the illusion complete.
BLACK SUN PRODUCTIONS is the project of MASSIMO & PIERCE, former members of "COIL Live". With Stefano Rossello (BAHNTIER, DETUNE-X, KETVECTOR) they have been collaborating on a number of projects since 2006 and "Enoeraew" is the first full length album as a trio. Experimentalism meets BAHNTIER's electro-industrial dance music, resulting in hypnotic arrangements for an oneiric and poetic journey into the realms of Ritual Music. Comes as a limited edition of 399 copies and a special superlimited deluxe boxset of 99 hand-numbered copies containing the regular CD, a bonus MCD, a bonus mini DVD, and more.
Legendary Rome-based electro act CHAOS/ORDER strike back with the third and final part of "The Trilogy of the Colours". "Significance of Blood" (aka The Red Album) closes the circle started in the year 2000. Technically it is a new breed made out of tribal techno trance with many progressive and obscured EBM overtones. The limited edition boxset (150 copies) features a second, additional full-length RED CD, brand new artwork and a sticker.
After leaving ALIEN VAMPIRES, Nemesis is back with a new sonic assault where aggression is the law. ANTYTHESYS raise their aim to the clubs with an uncompromising sound on "Point Blank". The album comprises 10 tracks where industrial, techno and electro merge.
And finally, three quality compilations. Metropolis Records, in association with Distortion Productions, present "Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music to Cure Cancer", a five-disc boxset of exclusive tracks by some of the biggest names in the industrial genre, to raise money for Cancer Research. The boxset includes four CDs and a downloadable fifth disc comprising 83 tracks, including new exclusive tracks and mixes by COMBICHRIST, ASSEMBLAGE 23, SUICIDE COMMANDO, NOISUF-X, IMPERATIVE REACTION and many more. Strictly Limited Edition of 2,500 copies.
"Top of the Pops - Eighties Pop" is a 3CD set featuring many of the biggest eighties pop hits performed on "Top of the Pops", the legendary pop music TV chart programme, which ran on a weekly basis for a record shattering 42 years. Whilst "Top of the Pops - Punk & New Wave" features, unsurprisingly, many of the biggest punk and new wave hits performed on the show.

Review 2009 has been a productive year for the PET SHOP BOYS, who won the award for Outstanding Contribution To Music at this year's BRITs and celebrated their highest UK and USA album chart positions for 15 years. A hugely successful world tour is still in progress. Their new single "Christmas" features a completely new version of "All Over the World", a track which appears on their latest album "Yes". Also included is a new version of "It Doesn't Often Snow at Christmas", originally an exclusive Christmas single issued to members of the PET SHOP BOYS fan club in 1997. Both new versions were produced by Marius de Vries and Pet Shop Boys, based on the original tracks, and have orchestral and choral arrangements by Matt Robertson and Marius de Vries. The EP also features the PET SHOP BOYS' arrangement of the Madness classic, "My Girl", which was originally performed with Suggs and Carl of Madness at last year's charity benefit "Can You Bear It?", for the family of Chris and Neil's former assistant and close friend, Dainton Connell, who was tragically killed in a car accident. Finally, we have a medley of COLDPLAY's "Viva la Vida" and the PET SHOP BOYS classic "Domino Dancing" which the duo have been performing on their current world tour. Review The Assassin - Murder? Crime of passion? As always, ROME's titles ought to be taken with a pinch of salt. ROME's new 'Chanson Noir' is speaking of man's enslavement in a world of constant transformation. The traditions of (French) chanson and (American) folk are becoming more and more influential in their current work. Chansonniers like LÉO FERRÉ, JACQUES BREL and singer/songwriter heroes like CAVE, CASH and COHEN are obvious influences. The previous album "Flowers from Exile" already gave a first impression of what they themselves call 'Chanson Noir' - the darker side of singer/songwriter tradition: post-industrial folk with bits and pieces of electronic pop, complex arrangements of breathtaking melodies, mesmerizing ballads of lyrical beauty, underlining ROME's ethos of never faltering or remaining uninvolved. This EP features four songs, among which the exclusive and intimate track "One Flesh". The creative input of new member Nikos Mavridis (on violin and other stringed instruments) has become more and more apparent, most obviously in the reinvented, 'stringed' versions of two classic ROME tracks "Der Erscheinungen Flucht" and "Der Brandtaucher" from the highly successful album "Masse Mensch Material". ROME reinvent themselves with each release, yet without ever losing track of their roots. Still, the sheer anger and ultimate despair of the early, warlike days has evaporated somewhat to make room for more complex and classical arrangements and ever more thought-provoking lyrics. Review BLACK SUN PRODUCTIONS is the project of MASSIMO & PIERCE, a duo of producers and performers based in Zurich, Switzerland, former members of "COIL Live" and creators of the "Plastic Spider Thing Show". Besides BLACK SUN PRODUCTIONS, their discography features an array of guest artists such as COIL, LYDIA LUNCH, HR GIGER, VAL DENHAM, SUDDEN INFANT, NIKO SKORPIO, SONNE HAGAL, ANDREW ZEALLEY and many others. With Stefano Rossello (BAHNTIER, DETUNE-X, KETVECTOR) they have been collaborating on a number of projects since 2006 and "Enoeraew" is the first full length album as a trio. Tracks produced over the years have been reworked alongside brand new pieces recorded in Spring 2009 in Zurich. The album was then mixed and produced by Stefano in Italy. Review YELLO are without doubt one of the most influential bands in the wide and open context of electronic music. From their earliest incarnation as slick Swiss guys with a strange back story making very odd disco, their music has permeated everything from comedy films to contemporary art installations. But the rhythm of YELLO's music is just one side to their cube. Sonics, emotion, and visual elements are all equally important, something amply demonstrated on the new concept album "Touch Yello". From the moment the Riviera blues of "You Better Hide" floats out of the speakers, everything is in place for an homage to past glories. However, YELLO are one of those bands that maintain their own sound by always being different. We have Dieter Meier's half-spoken lyrics tumbling out over the top of piano flourishes and electronic sax squiggles on "The Expert", which is held together by monstrously deep, very contemporary bass notes. "Part Love" exists somewhere in between soulful boogie and country guitar licks, and is the kind of song that only an act like YELLO can pull off. Coming at the end of a decade that has seen the group focusing on multiple projects, of which music was only one, the cinematic "Touch Yello" is still YELLO in every sense of the word. Guest vocalist HEIDI HAPPY weaves her voice through the panpipes and electronic moaning on "Takla Makan", but the quality of the samples and arrangements stop this album from ever becoming a pastiche. This twelth studio longplayer from Boris Blank and Dieter Meier is their first since 2003's "The Eye", and comes presented in sealed and stickered six-panel digipak sleeve with 20-page booklet. Unfortunately, FAD GADGET is now dead and master Numan is sporting a more dark industrial sound these days. Hence we are in dire need of fresh blood for this kind of music! And who would be better suited to fit the role than Don Goldmann and Sancho Schirner who have been riding against the windmills of the establishment with their orphaned church organ Lola and the most eccentric electro-pop vision of all time for quite some time now? On their new album "Viva La Lola", the mad duo (now minus a horde of brawly ballerinas but joined by a live band) is taking the next step towards world domination by reinvigorating the spirit of the aforementioned pioneers of the early 80s and unleashing the wildest electronic funfair sound in years onto their unsuspecting public. Review M.O.S. is the Liechtenstein-based label that first discovered and launched bands such as L'AME IMMORTELLE, DIE VERBANNTEN KINDER EVAS, WELTENBRAND, ICE AGES and WHISPERS IN THE SHADOW. It is the only label based in the tiny principality on the Swiss/Austrian border, and was founded by Oliver Falk, who is also the mastermind behind ERBEN DER SCHÖPFUNG ('Heirs of Creation'). After their successful debut "Twilight" released in 2001 (on NAPALM Records), which caused a big sensation amongst the goth audience, the project has slowly evolved over the years from pure gothic into a dark electro band, without being afraid to infuse the music with some heavy guitar sounds. Privacy has become a privilege of the past. LAHANNYA's forthcoming second album "Defiance" delves further into the world of the Underground. Misfits and nonconformists, ostracised from this Brave New Britain have withdrawn into the London Underground tunnels, creating a parallel society where the law of 'survival of the fittest' once again applies. "Defiance" traces the path of a resistance leader living with the terrible knowledge of having created the technology that made such extensive surveillance possible. This stunning concept album is LAHANNYA's darkest and most aggressive-sounding release to date, with both lyrics and music reflecting the intensity of the emotions that shape the story. Once again LAHANNYA is defying narrow genre definitions with her explosive cocktail of industrial rock-infused plenty-of-metal attitude and a sprinkling of pop appeal.
