Welcome to our weekly round-up of forthcoming releases.
For more than two decades, DE/VISION have been captivating fans of electronic pop music. Over this span of time, the band have released ten albums, experimented with different styles, and written a slew of enduring pop classics. The new album entitled "Popgefahr" is a worthy addition their legacy. The limited fan box edition is strictly limited to just 1,500 numbered copies.
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of WUMPSCUT's seminal album "Blutkind", a special 'XL Pak' Edition is being released, packaged in a DVD-sized box. Also available as a super deluxe double vinyl re-release in a beautiful gatefold cover (strictly limited to 300 copies), and an anniversary edition box with XL Pak CD, double LP, a "Blutkind" patch and A1 poster, plus an exclusive new t-shirt of a design only available as part of this box set. Highly limited!
Over a series of remarkable concept albums, the Luxembourgish band ROME have developed a totally unique 'poetry of longing'. Following on from their EP "L'Assassin", ROME assiduously develop their sound further on the minimalistic, simple singer-songwriter album "Nos Chants Perdus", slowly leaving the apocalyptic realms behind them. The strictly limited first edition comes as a CD in digibook format.
YENDRI is a dark electro project based in Hamburg, Germany, made up of sole member Nina, and offering a wide range of styles in the genre of dark electronic music. Most songs are produced without any target genre in mind so be warned, there will always be some surprises. "Destination Oblivion" features fifteen new songs and comes in a nice superjewel box with a twelve-page booklet.
THE GIRL & THE ROBOT return with "The Beauty of Decay", twelve timelessly beautiful, crystal-clear electro pearls. Glittering minimal drops, passionate synth soundscapes, gripping sequences, part dreamy, part stomping beats and a huge dose of yearning somewhere between COVENANT and RÖYKSOPP.
In 2006 Martin Rudefelt aka CRYO released his debut album "Cryogenic" to EXCELLENT worldwide reviews, even winning the SAMA award as best newcomer in the electronic music scene. In 2007, the mini-CD "Mixed Emotions" took the DAC, NAC and other alternative charts by storm. And now in 2010 CRYO returns with the brand new album "Hidden Aggression", which is nothing less than a true masterpiece. Danceable and rhythmic with beats that will crush the dancefloors to pieces with its driving force, yet is still melodic.
CRUNCH POD continues to expand its eclectic roster of unique artists, presenting the debut "Dendrite" from Australia's young "Bubbergum Cyber" artist BITCH BRIGADE. Combining vocals reminiscent of LADYTRON and BATTERY, BITCH BRIGADE mix light, bouncy EBM that is so well suited to the dancefloor with percussive and more introspective material.
It was in December 1980, when STEPHAN EICHER released a 7" single that had an immediate and strong impact on the then still young electro/minimal punk scene. This is electro 80s minimal punk at its very best - think GRAUZONE meet D.A.F. meet SUICIDE! "Spielt Noise Boys" is a re-release of his very first recordings, including the two tracks that did not 'make it' on the 7" release from 1980!
MOMMY HURT MY HEAD from Aarhus, Denmark, are what could be the most exciting new thing on the harsh electronic scene for years. Their hard, direct, and uncompromissing sound brings us back to the time when music was made with synthesizers not with computers, and when distorted vocals were made via tube-driven pedals not with plugins. To fans of harsh old school electronic music like FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY, LEAETHER STRIP and SKINNY PUPPY, this release will be nothing less than a real feast for the ears.
Three new releases from ADVOXYA RECORDS now - DEADJUMP are back with the first new full album since 2006: "Animus Necandi". Ten new tracks and remixes from LARVA and ACYLUM, it's pure evil - dark, aggressive and melodic! ALIEN PRODUKT make a great return with their newest release "Honour vs Falsehood - The first Step EP". Rhythmic EBM machines combined with a powerful voice and a strong melodies - includes remixes from A7IE, ASSEPTIC ROOM and RETRACTOR. And some Swedish industrial mayhem from THE PAIN MACHINERY with "Total Recall EP". Combining electro-punk with the old school EBM and noise, the EP includes an alternative version of title track in the German and several remixes.
TRAVAILLEUR EN TRANCE's first album "Ultima Ratio Intervention" provides nothing less than a strong new impulse for the genre called Electronic Body Music - 'neo-EBM'. Expect extreme metallic basslines with a sharp cutting edge, unbearably harsh 'vocals' and cynical, multilingual lyrics. "Cobra Coded Escalation" is the second release from TET, featuring new digital synthesizer attacks in the form of 25 devastating missions.
Have a great week!

Review
For more than two decades, DE/VISION members Steffan Keth and Thomas Adam have been captivating fans of electronic pop music. Over this span of time, the band have released ten albums, gone through various lineup changes, experimented with different styles, and written a slew of enduring pop classics. Hot on the heels of the critically acclaimed album "Noob", the boys from DE/VISION have once again emerged from the studio with all-new material for 2010. Working together with their favorite producer team, Schumann & Bach, the new album entitled "Popgefahr" is a worthy addition to DE/VISION's musical legacy. Seamlessly moving from danceable tracks such as "Flash of Life" to the slower, lyrically driven "Be a Light to Yourself", "Popgefahr" (loosely translated as 'Danger of Pop') is a well-rounded, cohesive album.
And this time they have gone their own way, and founded an indie label through which they are releasing the album. "On the one hand the term 'Popgefahr' clearly stands for the kind of music that we write best - electro pop. The title gives people a first idea where the musical journey is headed", explains Steffen, proud father of a strapping boy since New Year's Day. "The album title is further meant to draw the attention to the new self-contained label. For others this might not be of such relevance, but for us it represents a big step towards even more independence."
On the new album danger impends only in form of typical DE/VISION singalong anthems. Since their earliest beginnings DE/VISION have been a band that has confidently stood out against the crowd with their extraordinary song-writing qualities. "Popgefahr" is no exception. In an almost feisty and flirtatious manner the album presents ten ambitious electro tracks, all of them rough around the edges but going straight to one's head, especially when reaching the irresistible choruses. It is right there that the ten pop diamonds infect the listener with a virus that sticks to the ear canal. An antidote has not yet been found...

Nos Chants Perdus |
|
|
£16.75 |

Review
Over a series of remarkable concept albums, the Luxembourgish band ROME have developed a totally unique 'poetry of longing' which rings out from a dark melancholic mist of rootlessness and which gives expression to a comprehensive feeling of modern forlornness.
The protagonists of ROME's music are the unintentional 'rebels' of Camus ("The Rebel"; original title "L'Homme Révolté"), contemporaries from the turbulent epochs of the 20th century: the banished and the hunted; the despised and the misunderstood - always enemies of dictatorship. This is what the songs of Jerome Reuter are about, firmly in the tradition of his declared heroes JACQUES BREL and LÉO FERRÉ, (on earlier albums also TOM WAITS and NICK CAVE). As regards content, ROME are inspired by world literature and the observant listener will be able to detect references to and quotations from Albert Camus, Marcel Proust, Jean-Paul Satre and Jean Genet serving to create a new kind of intertextuality between word and sound.
Following on from their EP "L'Assassin" ROME assiduously develop their sound further on the minimalistic, simple singer-songwriter album "Nos Chants Perdus", slowly leaving the apocalyptic realms behind them. Catchy melodies, which exude the timeless atmosphere of the metropolis on the Seine, impress themselves on the memory. The sonorous voice bears the weltschmerz as well as the yearning for freedom and peace. Despite the French songtitles the lyrics are primarily performed in English, while the music is constructed primarily with acoustic instruments: piano, guitar, touches of strings, accordion. The band have largely relinquished electronic elements, which marks this album out as a further stride in the work of this act.
"Nos Chants Perdus" by ROME is an exceptional and valuable example of the art of singer-songwriting, the likes of which hasn't been heard in this concentration and with such gravity for a long time.
The strictly limited first edition comes as a CD in digibook format - a hardcover book bound in linen with special black hotfoil debossing, a 40-page additional booklet, plus a semi-matte art print on high-quality paper and with elaborate "Singer" thread stitching· Includes all lyrics and photographs by Achim Webel.

Review
YENDRI is a dark electro project based in Hamburg, Germany, made up of sole member Nina, who has released eight albums so far - four on Trisol and four on Mental Ulcer Forges, the label found and run by Rudy Ratzinger of WUMPSCUT. Also known as the Dark Princess of Unconventional Sounds, YENDRI offers a wide range of styles in the genre of dark electronic music, so you will love her music if you don't want to listen to the same old stuff all over again. One of the styles is something that could be called 'goth house', keeping it cold and dark without loosing the funk and soul, if you need a genre for that.
Most songs are produced without any target genre in mind so be warned, there will always be some surprises. Or as YENDRI herself smartly writes on her MySpace page: "Not like NIN, not like DEPECHE MODE, not like VNV NATION, not like WUMPSCUT, not like COMBICHRIST, not even like BJÖRK... hm, maybe just a little bit, not really like COVENANT, not like APHEX TWIN... Just a very futile attempt to be creative here!"
The album features fifteen new songs and comes in a nice superjewel box with a twelve-page booklet.

| The Girl and the Robot |
The Beauty of Decay |
|
|
£13.75 |
 |
Review
"While I was in love I was the happiest man on earth; but no one can love who has not a heart." ("The Wizard of Oz")
The odyssey continues: earlier this year, THE GIRL & THE ROBOT set out in their quest to find love in our heartless society on their double feature single "Whole/Flowers". Now they expand their mission. Like the Tinman desperately seeking his lost heart in the wonderful world of Oz, the debut album of Plastique and her Swedish Tinman Deadbeat has become a similar quest for warmth, love and passion.
In twelve timelessly beautiful, crystal-clear electro pearls, the gorgeous girl acts side-by-side with an intrinsically cold-hearted robot, causing him to produce anything but deadhearted or cold melodies with his sequencers. No wonder with a personified sin like Plastique by his side. Ethereal, enigmatic, bewitched and utterly succumbing, her voice instills a certain little something into the floating tracks, somewher between retro charm and urban chic. And when she sensually sighs the words "I will always love you until the end of time" in the last song, listeners and robots alike will have become highly addicted to her.
It is certainly difficult to succumb much earlier that this to the tantalizing spell of this unique project - in the driving rhythms of the opening track "Another Love", a song effortlessly filling the gap between LADYTRON and CLIENT. This impeccable taste and style never leaves a surprisingly characteristic and independent debut release: glittering minimal drops, passionate synth soundscapes, gripping sequences, part dreamy, part stomping beats and a huge dose of yearning somewhere between COVENANT and RÖYKSOPP all become vocally ennobled by Plastique. This woman will melt even synthetic robot circuitries!
As with little Dorothy, who finds herself in the world of Oz after a cyclone, "The Beauty of Decay" marks the onset of a fantastic journey, leaving behind the daily routines and heading for a world in which even robots have hearts. And with the spherical electro dreams of THE GIRL & THE ROBOT, this world seems closer than ever before.
"The Beauty of Decay" comes as a multiply folded digipak containing all the lyrics as well as exclusive pictures capturing the songs' wallowing eroticism.

Review
In 2006 Martin Rudefelt aka CRYO released his debut album "Cryogenic" to EXCELLENT worldwide reviews. It even won him a SAMA award as best newcomer in the electronic music scene. In 2007 he took the DAC, NAC and other alternative charts by storm with the release of the mini-CD "Mixed Emotions" which was more club/dance oriented. "CRYO has a unique twist to his music" the media wrote. "It's cold and static yet danceable and catchy."
And now in 2010 CRYO returns with the brand new album "Hidden Aggression" which is nothing less than a true masterpiece. If this doesn't launch CRYO as one of the top names within the electronic scene... nothing will. Danceable and rhythmic with beats that will crush the dancefloors to pieces with its driving force, yet is still melodic. "Hidden Aggression" is the future of electronic music, the next stage in its development.

Review
With so many labels in the current climate consolidating and promoting 'their sound', Crunch Pod instead continues to expand its eclectic roster of unique artists, presenting the debut "Dendrite" from Australia's young "Bubbergum Cyber" artist BITCH BRIGADE.
Combining vocals reminiscent of LADYTRON and BATTERY, BITCH BRIGADE's Agrippa Cryoflesh mixes light, bouncy EBM that is so well suited to the dancefloor ("Licky the Carnivorous Pony") with percussive and more introspective material (like the SNOG-ish "Tears Are What We Do Now"), having equal success with both, but never covered with the trite, jaded residue left behind by so many other artists in the genre.
Jump on board with a true rising star in EBM, and leave all the prefabricated angst and anger of the less-inspired behind...

Review
It was in December 1980, when STEPHAN EICHER released a 7" single on the now legendary Swiss label Off Course Records. The single had an immediate and strong impact on the then still young electro/minimal punk scene and in particular the song "MiniMiniMiniMinijupe" has become a timeless classic of the scene, still being played today by DJs re-discovering the early 80s pioneering electro acts.
This is electro 80s minimal punk at its very best - think GRAUZONE meet D.A.F. meet SUICIDE!
STEPHAN EICHER recorded a total of seven songs (of which only five were later released on the debut 7") on a simple dictaphone recorder with no overdubs or mixing and purely with 'stolen' equipment (after the Police stormed the Spex Club where Stephan worked, causing the band that was supposed to play to leave behind their equipment...). He tried to reproduce tracks by his short-lived first band NOISE BOYS. The result was a MC, of which only 25 copies were ever produced, leading eventually to the 7" single by Off Course.
Only 6 months later he produced the undisputed No. 1 80s classic "Der Eisbär" with the band GRAUZONE, that he founded with his brother Martin Eicher. The song was in the official German sales charts for more than a year, staying in the top ten for weeks and selling over 600,000 copies. STEPHAN EICHER later started a solo career with a few releases on indie labels at first, and then with countless singles and albums on the French major label Barclay/Virgin later on. He is still a big star today, mainly in France and other French-speaking countries.
This re-release of his very first ever recordings comes with all seven tracks from the original MC release, including the two tracks that did not 'make it' on the 7" release from 1980!

Review
MOMMY HURT MY HEAD from Aarhus, Denmark are what could be the most exciting new thing on the harsh electronic scene for years. Their hard, direct, and uncompromissing sound brings us back to the time when music was made with synthesizers not with computers, and when distorted vocals were made via tube-driven pedals not with plugins.
The Danish electronic scene always had a special sound with acts like LEÆTHER STRIP, PSYCHOPOMPS, BIRMINGHAM 6. But somewhere towards the end of the 90s, this sound totally disappeared and with it much of the Danish scene. MOMMY HURT MY HEAD brings both that special sound and the raw energy back. Denmark is more than ready to be a name on the map again.
Despite this album being their debut album, the people behind the band are no newcomers to the scene. Der Doktor for example was one of the persons in Danish cult industrial duo ARZT+PFUSCH. Abn pAn also has an impressive track record with acts like DEADSTATE 81, GLASS DESCRIPTION and PAN AND THE G9 SLUG.
To fans of harsh old school electronic music like FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY, LEÆTHER STRIP and SKINNY PUPPY, this release will be nothing less than a real feast for the ears. ANd the really cool artwork for this CD was actually made by the youngest artist we have ever hired - a five-year old Danish girl.

Review
DEADJUMP arose from dark elektro band BRUTAL DIVERGENZ. Alex, the man behind the DEADJUMP, released the first demo entitled "Holy Mind" under this name. After the acquisition of new equipment, he rebuilt his concepts, trying out new sounds and composed "Virtual Masturbation of a Bastard Leader", issued in 1997 by 4D Records. In 1999, DEADJUMP released "Causa Mortis", the remix album, just to give a break from composition but to remain present in the electro scene. In 2000, the full length album "Post Mortem" was released, including extra tracks remixed by SLEEPWALK, PLASTIC NOISE EXPERIENCE, PROJECT-X and UNFORMED.
After a break lasting until 2006, Alex returned with a new release called "Immortal". Signing to Advoxya records was the next step. From this followed a remix EP - "Scare Mix" and the album "Post Immortal", which contains the best tracks from previous era of DEADJUMP plus hard-beat remixes from CONTROLLED COLLAPSE, DRAINED SCORN and IAMBIA among others.
And now, finally, here is the first new full album since 2006 from the leader of the Brazilian electro scene: "Animus Necandi". Ten new tracks and remixes from LARVA and ACYLUM. "Animus Necandi" represents a wider evolution of the DEADJUMP's music and sound creation. It's pure evil - dark, aggressive and melodic! Dance with a knife.

Honour vs Falsehood - The First Step EP |
|
|
£10.50 |
 |
Review
ALIEN PRODUKT make a great return with their newest release "Honour vs Falsehood - The first Step EP". It is the first in a series of two EP releases to mark two distinct phases of the band.
Rhythmic EBM machines combined with a powerful voice and a strong melodies will stay with you from the start throughout the fourteen songs included, giving more than 70 minutes in total. There are two completely new tracks and unpublished remixes from A7IE, ASSEPTIC ROOM, RETRACTOR and DRAINED SCORN among others. Pure EBM beats with a perfect combination of club-oriented sounds - hard, emotional and danceable. This is certainly a release in the band's own unmistakable style, easily recognised from their previously published albums on BLC Productions - "Revenge" (2005) and "Ignorance" (2007).
And further more, be prepared for another attack from the aliens - the next release is due very soon!

THE PAIN MACHINERY are back!
Remix EP from swedish industrial mayhem TPM that includes 11 tracks in total for a duration of more than 57 minutes, to advertise the release of their new conceptual album "Urban Survival", featuring among others CHEMLAB's Jared Louche and scheduled for winter, 2010. The EP combines electro-punk with the old school EBM and noise, and includes an alternative version of title track in the german language and completed especially for german fans. One of the remixes here has also been made with the participation of CONTAINER 90.
Having recently joined forces with Advoxya Records the new material sees TPM going in a more electronic direction while keeping the edge and aggression of their earlier work. The lead track, "Total Recall", is presented in a variety of mixes showcasing the band's ability to forge classic heavy-duty basslines, disciplined beats and commanding vocals into a sound that brings early EBM straight into the future.

Ultima Ratio Intervention |
|
|
£12.75 |
 |
Review
It was about time TET intervened... And as expected, their first album provides nothing less than a strong new impulse - for the genre called Electronic Body Music, as well as for the whole area of powerful dance agitation. TET's so-called 'neo-EBM' stands for a new mixture of stylish brutality and correctly channelled pressure: the raw force of FM-dominated old school EBM collides with modern weird sound designs and potentially lethal technoid shuffle grooves, as provided by TET-leader CS as rotorik on numerous labels over the past few years, getting attention even from legends like John Peel.
The extremist, metallic basslines with a sharp cutting edge, unbearably harsh 'vocals' and the cynical, multilingual lyrics about sometimes rather ugly issues challenge the listener, as do the permanent deployments of abstract, hyper-modern sound designs and occasional rhythmic experiments. TET's conjuring of the pure power of elegantly aggressive sounds is the ultimate, most dangerous and undoubtedly most effective method.
With their anti-elitarian attitude, TET avoid any ambush! Apart from sheer aggression, their music contains touching digital melodies, reminding you of Cold War action movies, and multilingual lyrics full of cynical allusions presented in the traditional harsh manner of true body music. The album contains only the best, carefully selected styles of pressurised electronics. This is no gothic trance fashion comedy! TET infiltrate most ruthlessly - and they're damn serious about it.
During the recording of "Ultima Ratio Intervention", beta versions of album tracks were already tested live in regard to audience reaction. The data accumulated helped TET to even further perfect the tracks to achieve a most extreme precision - in order to guarantee best possible chance of success for the mission now starting... As a final blending of the result, "Ultima Ratio Intervention" was mastered at world-renowned Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin.
Packaged in a super jewel DVD box.

Review
Very few bands evoke such awe and inspiration as this Swedish act driven by the now legendary talent of Peter Bjärgö. ARCANA have been pillars of the so called neo-classical/heavenly voices movement with their poignant, ethereal and medieval-inspired music since their very first album, "Dark Age of Reason" was released in 1996 on Sweden's Cold Meat Industry label. The subsequent of three further albums, "Cantar de Procella" (1997), "...The Last Embrace" (2000) and "Inner Pale Sun" (2002) cemented ARCANA's position as one of the most highly-regarded and praised acts on the label.
Sorrowful strings, doomsday horns and trumpets, massive percussion and snares, bells and dulcimer - all interlaced with exquisite male and female voices create a quite singular atmosphere of grandeur and of melancholy for times long gone... ARCANA's music leaves hardly anyone indifferent. It is able to touch and move in ways very few acts have been able to achieve, it is unique in its timelessness, and rediscovering these albums years later certainly proves this.
Now sold out for some years, these first four classic albums are being re-issued together in a special format. This 4CD box set includes all four albums in their entirety, also featuring bonus tracks taken from various compilations and mini albums covering the early days of this unique act. The first three albums have also been carefully re-mastered: "Dark Age of Reason" by Peter Bjärgö and "Cantar De Procella" and "...The Last Embrace" by Frederic Arbour. This box set is a limited edition of 2000 copies.
Release date to be confirmed - anticipated to be in early April.

The final master of THE FROZEN AUTUMN's new DVD "Seen from Under Ice" has been completed! Tracks 19 to 21 are TFA and STATIC MOVEMENT official video clips whilst tracks 21 to 27 are live video footage taken from two TFA concerts during the 90s.

Review
For years he has made a name for himself under various guises in the modern electronic music scene, but the most outstanding of Daniel Myer's (countless) projects is ARCHITECT. Three years after "Lower Lip Interface" Hymen records present the long-awaited fifth album! The difference between the true creative artist and the impersonator is the way in which they deal with influences. Myer's inspirations range from drum'n'bass wizards ENDUSER and CURRENT VALUE up to breakcore warlords VENETIAN SNARES and OTTO VON SCHIRACH - but it is unmistakably ARCHITECT you hear in every note of each track. "Consume Adapt Create": a unique blend of atmospheric IDM, cinematic samples, powerfully distorted sequences, ramming electro grooves, razor-sharp breakbeats, and haunting ambiance. Music to move the dancefloor while still creating enough depth and texture for heavy listening through your headphones. Once again, D. Myer demonstrates astounding compositions, well-placed sounds and complex arrangements of synthetic noise. As heard on this record: "I see things..." - listen up and see for yourself!

Crucifix Powerbomb |

£13.75 |

Review
The fooling about has finished: now it's time to get serious! SANTA HATES YOU pin you to the mat with the power of "Crucifix Powerbomb". Loud, threatening, danceable, passionate and brutish. For the title of their new album, Peter Spilles (PROJECT PITCHFORK) and Jinxy have chosen nothing less than the name of a finishing wrestling move, and no other description could be more fitting for the dark, apocalyptic, aggressive yet at the same time seductive music which presents itself on the disc. Stomping beats, driving sequencers, apocalyptic sounds and aggressive but seductive vocals all blend into a veritable inferno of condensed strength.
Whoever thought that SANTA HATES YOU were a cute tuppenny playground soft toy combatant, albeit a little weirder, will finally be taught a lesson. Hammering electro explodes undiluted from the speakers, club stompers follow one after the other, just like the quick strike and move sequence of a wrestling match. Just as colourful, just as iridescent, just as unrestrained...
Peter Spilles and Jinxy clobber you, blow after blow. around the ears with one hammering slab of electro after the other, and at the end, someone will remain lying on the mat. This much is certain: it won't be SANTA HATES YOU! Let the dancefloor of your club become the ring. Get set for the match. Because only the really tough will be able to withstand this sweat-inducing, loud and merciless duel. Are you ready?
Let's get ready to rumble!

The Magic in My Heart Is Dead |

Review
The most distinguished ambassadors of hard electronic sounds from the USA return. The title of the group's newest (album-length!) EP, "The Magic in My Heart Is Dead" is pretty programmatic for the horror trip that awaits: unapologetic beats, cold and aggressive screams and a dark atmosphere that make for a sonic scare-fest leaving no place for sunlight. What distinguishes GOD MODULE from most of their genre colleagues are the skilfully implemented melodic trance licks and the new wave and synthpop influences that conjure up little specks of brightness in the midst of all the pandemonium, providing their trip to hell with an amazingly catchy touch.
The US-based group's standout qualities are firmly set in stone on the five new tracks on this new CD. A further six versatile remixes from trademark names on the electronic scene such as ASHBURY HEIGHTS, AESTHETIC PERFECTION and PROJECT PITCHFORK top off this massive electro inferno...
This release is VERY LIMITED, with only 1000 copies available, so order quickly. A perfect appetizer for the upcoming new album!

Review
When a hard electro legend such as Racso Agroyam (sound wizard of HOCICO) takes a band under his wing you can be sure that it must be a rather special act indeed. The Mexican group KRIMINAL MINDS ignore all 'evil' Hellectro clichés and choose instead to celebrate music as an uncontrollable outcry of rage against oppression, the system and the dismal world we live in. With ultra-brutal shouts, versatile arrangements and a musical bandwidth spanning from club-compatible beats to all-out noisy industrial onslaughts, "Resistance Against..." is a sonic pamphlet that will shake up more than just your floorboards. Of course, Racso Agroyam's production is omnipresent but KRIMINAL MINDS have so many interesting ideas of their own and are so full of irresistible rage that their music is much more than a mere 'little brother of Hocico'. At a time when almost all hard electro bands tend to sound the same, KRIMINAL MINDS are refreshingly versatile, candid and sport an honest brutality!

Review
"We're back! And we're better than before!" When an artist goes about boasting such a statement over their latest album, it must mean that they are mighty sure of themselves. Anno 2010 A.D., and Chris Pohl's dark-electro-club-industrial-metal-hybrid TERMINAL CHOICE are returning to the very essence of their sound: thundering techno- and break beats mingling with hit-laden melodies, massive riff walls, cynical lyrics and loads of black tongue-in-cheek humour.
Stadium-compatible trance riffs are served hot on hard guitar attacks, whilst the electronic elements play the kind of dominant role that made early TC albums instant floor fillers. "Übermacht" is 100% classic TERMINAL CHOICE reloaded... sporting a much larger, more massive and intense sound than ever before! Jumpstyle on Neue Deutsche Härte? Dark techno at the headbanger's ball? Call it what you like, but on their new album this band simply grind into the ground anything that chooses to stand in their way. They ARE back! And they ARE better than before! ...And the Joker dances to a thudding electro beat with a wide grin.

Review
DESTROID have recognized the signs of times and consequently offer an exciting mix of classic EBM with crunchy synth elements. Their musical spectrum ranges from dancefloor burners to sensitive ballads.
The band founded in summer 2003 consisted of Daniel Myer (vocals, production, programming) and Sebastian Ullmann (production, live keyboard, programming). Their fist album, "Future Prophecies", released in the autumn of the same year, went straight into the DAC Top Ten. After this impressive debut, the second longplayer was released in October 2007. "Loudspeaker" was first successfully introduced to the masses on a European tour with Painbastard and [:SITD:], followed by worldwide shows including the USA, Russia, Australia and at various festivals. This album also achieved success in the DAC (German Alternative Charts), with a peak position of number three.
In 2010, DESTROID have now completed their latest work, the "Silent World" EP, which will include guest vocals by Sven Friedrich (ZERAPHINE) and remixes by [:SITD:] and ASSEMBLAGE 23.

Review
Former MAYHEM front man Maniac, whose band SKITLIV has proved to be a surprising departure from the Black Metal genre for which he was best known for over 20 years, has formed a side-project with fiancée Vivian Slaughter, bass player/vocalist with the Japanese all-girl band GALLHAMMER, SKITLIV's guitarist Ingvar Magnusson and experimentalist Andrew Liles (of NURSE WITH WOUND). Unlike SKITLIV, which is a noise/doom amalgam, with Maniac's vocals still firmly rooted in Black Metal, SEHNSUCHT is in the noise/darkwave/ambient genre, with any vestiges of Black Metal pared away.

Review
Sometimes it needs an earthquake to blow the dust from a genre that is way past its prime. The term 'Gothic Metal' has become more and more of a farce in the past couple of years, drowning in a sea of plastic pomp, embarrassing aggro-poses and soft rock drivel. Enter LORD OF THE LOST, the band fronted by 'Mr. 1000 Voices' Chris Harms, which ignores the genre's clichés and impresses with an energetic mix of hit compatible melodies, dark atmosphere and impulsive aggression. Chris Harms is an extremely versatile vocalist and might tingle your spine with his deep timbre one moment, only to raise sonic hell with hefty growls and piercing screams the next. LORD OF THE LOST create their very own niche bridging the gap between headbanging inferno, glam rock charm and dark romance with enthralling, catchy songs that are infused with an irresistible energy. As the missing link between gothic and MARILYN MANSON, the Hamburg-based band are unleashing an avalanche that will be hard to stop! Praise the LORD OF THE LOST!

Review
With album number three, Finnish dark alternative metal band REFLEXION have delivered quite a smasher! Thudding tribal drums and massive, deep guitar riffs infuse the band's dark melodic hit tunes with a refreshing kick that pleasantly distinguishes itself from the over produced kitsch that most of their fellow countrymen are sporting. This time around REFLEXION are playing it rough, spiffing up even their slow songs with Sabbath-esque doom riffs and toying with complex song structures that often border on prog metal, but without ever losing track of the catchy, often gloomy melodies that made their first two albums nearly impossible to resist. "Edge" revels in dark atmosphere and hit qualities but will probably cause some serious head banging attacks with metal veterans as well, due to a much harder approach.

Last of the Great Romantics |

Review
Recorded over 2008/2009 in Melbourne, Berlin and Prague, SNOG's latest release is truly a landmark album. Like RADIOHEAD's "OK Computer" and Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" (to both of which it has already been compared) "Last of the Great Romantics" sees a beloved band at their conceptual and creative peak. From the blazing space-rock ballad of opening track "We're All In This Together" to the languid moog-boogie of "The End of the World" to the disco-metal pyrotechnics of "Wargasm", SNOG forge their own path and their own sound - bold, uncompromising and just a little bent. Recorded entirely in analogue facilities using a vast collection of vintage studio equipment with special guests including John Justin Stewart (GRACE JONES), Neil Boyack (ANGLER) and the City of Prague Philharmonic Choir and produced by the Calculators (THE FAINT, SCHNEIDER TM), "Last of the Great Romantics" is a lush, sincere masterpiece.

Review
At once a swirling torrent of luscious synths, steady glitch-soaked beats, provocative vocal samples, and powerful piano movements, CANDLE NINE's debut "The Muse in the Machine" easily cultivates both cerebral wonder and lip-biting ecstasy.
After a stand-out remix on last year's AD.VER.SARY CD "A Bright Cut Across Velvet Sky" and an appearance on Tympanik Audio's "Emerging Organisms 3" compilation, CANDLE NINE now delivers nine stunning new tracks of welcoming urgency and undeniable warmth, marked by ravenous, addictive beatwork and soul-embracing atmospheres. Brutality meets beauty with expert precision to arrive with such perfect cohesiveness and purpose, your mind is sure to contradict your body.

Review
"Hass und Liebe" is without a doubt one of the biggest EBM scene-hits to come out of Germany to date! Created in the 90s by Heiko Daniel, the song managed to climb its way into all the important alternative charts. And now, as part of Infacted's steadily growing classics series, the label present this electro/EBM masterpiece in a "pimped" version, presenting for the first time on CD four new/previously unreleased songs, alongside "Hate and Love", the English version of the title track. Also featured is the rare "Geld" ('Money') single plus some of the best of ECO's other tunes as well! A massive 16 song full-length release, with all tracks digitally remastered by Noisuf-X!

Review
Captured on their sold out worldwide Pandemonium tour, this two disc CD and DVD release sees the PET SHOP BOYS at the height of their powers.
Featuring songs from 2009's critically acclaimed "Yes" album plus all their greatest hits including "West End Girls", "Being Boring" and "Heart", "Pandemonium" is the definitive live PET SHOP BOYS experience, shot in HD and mixed by Stuart Price. The DVD also features three music videos and two exclusive live encore tracks performed at the 02 arena - including a cover of "My Girl" by Madness. Last but by no means least is the spectacular performance from the 2009 Brit Awards when the PET SHOP BOYS were honoured with the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music award. This performance features both LADY GAGA and Brandon Flowers from THE KILLERS.
Also included is a brand new audio commentary from Neil and Chris together with the show's creative director Es Devlin.

| Concrete Lung |
Waste of Flesh |
|
|
£6.00 |

Review
They say the road to Hell is paved with good intention, but for CONCRETE LUNG the path is littered with eroding breeze blocks and rusting steel skeletons. A malignant tumour blighting the urban sprawl, CONCRETE LUNG's corrosive sonic assault is the scream of a disenfranchised generation. Promised the technology to change the world only to see it abused by those in power, the high-def drip-feed of humanity's suffering is available to view 24/7. An internalised revolution, "Waste Of Flesh" is seven tracks of perpetually evolving death industrial, transcending the limitations of the musical gene pool they crawled from. Moving forward from the core electronica of their "The Dawn Of X" debut, Concrete Lung now wield a more brutal, more abrasive sound that bleeds forth across the more extreme ends of the musical spectrum. Incorporating elements of early PITCHSHIFTER, MINISTRY and SKINNY PUPPY, "Waste Of Flesh" sees the band combine their influences and spit them back out as lethal shards of dissonance. From the tribal drums that build to a hypnotic crescendo on the title track to the guitar napalm of "Breathe in the Monochrome" and the doom-grind that defines "Pyre Burns", CONCRETE LUNG continually seek to expand and refine their sound.
CONCRETE LUNG are Ed Oxime, formely of UK industrial scumpunks KATSCAN, and William Riever, a relapsed Australian.

Review
CORELINE has been creating pounding industrial noise since the turn of the millennium. Fast, complex rhythms meet open, evocative melodies to create an infectious sound with momentum destined for the club, but with a complexity that demands your attention.
The debut album from CORELINE, "Please Keep Moving Forward" fuses harsh, complex and distorted rhythm with anthemic synth lines together creating a new sound, harsh for the dance floor but accessible enough to listen to.

Following on from "Please Keep Moving Forward", "Bone and Blood as Stone and Mud" is the second studio album from the eccentric UK noise/bleep/industrial project CORELINE, featuring probably the first use of an actual school choir in ultra-serious harsh electronic music. Twelve tracks and over an hour of sound ranging from harsh-and-wonky dance-floor noise anthems to experimental mucking about, culminating in "Middle", a collaboration with the multi-talented David 'Man-Bjork' Lawrie.
