Welcome to the final weekly round-up of forthcoming releases in 2009, although there will be a brief review of the year sometime between Christmas and New Year. It may be short, but we have some very big releases for you to look forward to.
There are few bands that manage to adapt the most extreme sides of human behaviour to club-compatible electronic sounds as effectively as SUICIDE COMMANDO, the evil musical brainchild of Belgian hard electro legend Johan van Roy. On his newest long player "Implements of Hell", he effectively pulls out all the stops of a career spanning more than two decades to send the listener on a rollercoaster ride through the darkest excess from SUICIDE COMMANDO ever. The regular version of the album features 11 tracks, including the two previously released single cuts, whilst the limited double CD edition includes a bonus disc jam-packed with exclusive remixes and the videoclip for the single "Die Motherf*cker Die". The strictly limited fan box includes the double CD edition of the album, plus an extra single in a digipak with six exclusive tracks and remixes, a t-shirt, and loads of other extras. Sole creation of American artist Erica Dunham, the UNTER NULL project was initiated in 1998. The new, aptly titled, album "Moving On" plunges us into a world of torment, violence, deviance and darkness. Synthetic layers and piano lines get assaulted by powerful elektro sequences and EBM rhythms dominated by the poignant and terrifying voice of this unique and uncompromised artist... Also available as a limited deluxe carton box edition, which includes the exclusive "Moved On" bonus album featuring some nine exclusive songs plus four remixes, and a super fan box edition available only in very limited quantities, which includes a T-shirt, parts of UNTER NULL's keyboard, and the bonus "Mixing On" album with exclusive remixes by SIVA SIX, WYNARDTAGE, IMPLANT, ESSENCE OF MIND, and more.
The German cult electronic band WELLE:ERDBALL have done a lot of things in the last 16 years. First and foremost their music and records of course, but in addition to these they have released a comic book, a cinema movie (due in March 2010) and now this radio play as a 2CD box set. In 2006 they produced an episode of "The Adventures of Commander Laserstrahl", which was an unexpected success. More episodes followed, resulting in a CD release for the whole of season one. The band have now gone on to produce a second season, and as the original CD has now been deleted for quite some time, it seems fitting to mark the end of the story with a 2CD set containing all the episodes.
Belgian legends VOMITO NEGRO, who have been active since the mid 80s, still celebrate their sound with an intensity, creativity and passion that makes most recent hard electro projects seem like a weekend trip to Disneyland. The spirit of "Skull and Bones" is of the deepest black... no hope, no mercy! Rhythmic loops thud relentlessly under dark soundscapes and the heavily manipulated shouts leave no room for sunny feelings. The new album will be released as a limited first edition with a bonus disc that contains spectacular versions of the the group's biggest hits.
The legendary Belgian (again!) electro act SIGNAL AOUT 42 is renowned for more than just hard beats, monotonous warbling bass and the standard club staples: the music is an intense and atmospheric trip to the dark side of humanity. Massive analog sounds, hypnotic tribal rhythms, thudding EBM beats and the raw deep voice of Jacky Meurisse meld to epic tracks. "Vae Victis" is released as a limited first edition including a bonus maxi CD with exclusive remixes from the Northern Alliance (ATOPIC, BAK XIII, BUZZ, DARKMEN, GRANCHAOS, IMPLANT, K-BEREIT and VOID KAMPF).
THE EDEN HOUSE are based around Stephen Carey (ADORATION) and Tony Pettit (FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM). Their debut "Smoke and Mirrors" featured four female co-writers and vocalists: - Julianne Regan (ALL ABOUT EVE), Evi Vine, Amandine Ferrari and Monica Richards (FAITH AND THE MUSE), backed by violinist Bob Loveday. "The Looking Glass" features a CD of cover versions, including tracks by THE VELVET UNDERGROUND, RADIOHEAD, THE SHANGRI-LAS, THE ROLLING STONES and BJORK, and a live DVD of nine of their own tracks.
Rather than just being another tribute compilation to COIL, "The Dark Age of Love" was recorded as a proper album by a collective of artists operating under the name THIS IMMORTAL COIL. "The most extra-ordinary, beautiful, and moving, re-interpretations of COIL I have ever heard!" Peter Christopherson (COIL).

For the first time, and due to huge demand from the 'scene', the latest "Endzeit Bunkertracks" release will be accompanied by an official T-shirt. Bearing the logo "Endzeit Elektro - Run for Shelter" it is available as a T-shirt and Girlie.

Change in UK VAT
After 13 months of Value Added Tax being reduced from 17.5% to 15% here in the UK it will be reverting to 17.5% from 1st January 2010 (although neither Jo or I will be sitting at our computers to make the necessary changes to our website whilst everyone else is seeing the New Year in!). As such, any orders placed in 2009 will be slightly cheaper for you (irrespective of when we process them) and we would encourage you to order before 2010 to save yourself a bit of money.
Please note - this only affects customers in the UK and European Union. UK VAT is not applicable to customers outside of the EU.
Christmas and New Year Trading
Again, we'll be working most days but our main supplier closes for two weeks over this period. As such, our first shipment from this supplier in 2010 will not arrive with us until 11th January. We will continue to send out as many orders as possible over the festive period, but are limited by closures at all of our suppliers.
Many thanks for your patience during this very busy period. It just remains now for Jo and me to wish you all a very Merry Christmas/alternative religious celebration/non-religious seasonal break.

Lashing aggro-dance tracks like the single "Die Motherf*cker Die" alternate with heavy, dark and rhythmic synthesizer monsters that are not only a massive modern-day reminiscence of the early works of the band, but that also make "Implements of Hell" the darkest excess from SUICIDE COMMANDO ever, and the most menacing dance album of the last few years. Had Charles Manson been wreaking havoc in the Techno Age, his music would probably have sounded like this. The killer is striking terror into people's hearts on the dance floor... and you, sure as hell, won't be able to escape him this time! Review It is not every day that an artist manages to squarely establish herself at the top of the underground electronic scene with only a debut album under her belt. Well, UNTER NULL proved the contrary with the highly successful album "The Failure Epiphany" that has become a classic reference on the dark scene. Sole creation of American artist Erica Dunham, the UNTER NULL project was initiated in 1998. After years of classical piano training, as well as cello and guitar, the foray into electronic music began. UNTER NULL's sound could be described as equal parts melody and noise, venom balanced with sentiment, and a blend of sounds influenced by a wide variety of genres spanning industrial, classical, black metal and IDM. Today, Dunham breaks her extended and worrying silence with the new aptly titled album "Moving On", which plunges us into a world of torment, violence, deviance and darkness. Synthetic layers and piano lines get assaulted by powerful elektro sequences and EBM rhythms dominated by the poignant and terrifying voice of this unique and uncompromised artist... An intensely introspective and quite a personal album, we can perceive it as a form of catharsis, getting rid of the negative, venomous things in life - be they people or situations. Spiteful moments of complete rage intermingled with broken heart despair through which we simply end up loosing faith in faith... Produced and engineered by Claus Larsen (LEAETHER STRIP), "Moving On" reveals how much this artist has matured and broadened her artistic approach, including on stage where Erica Dunham is now supported by a full live band, allowing her the live dynamic to fully render the aggression of an album that looks to span genre boundaries, and overcome scene isolation by incorporating the engaging elements of punk rock energy, metal ferocity, and the intensity and club playability of industrial and EBM. First and foremost their music and records of course, but in addition to this they have released a comic book, a cinema movie (due in March 2010) and now this radio play as a 2CD box set. WELLE:ERDBALL are themselves big fans of radio plays and so in 2006 they produced an episode of "The Adventures of Commander Laserstrahl", which was an unexpected success. More episodes followed, resulting in a CD release for the whole of season one. The band have now gone on to produce a second season, and as the original CD has now been deleted for quite some time, it seems fitting to mark the end of the story with a 2CD set containing all the episodes. Please note - this release is NOT FOR CHILDREN but is of course full of the typical cynicism and sarcasm and the punky electro feeling you would expect from WELLE:ERDBALL... Review Rising from the ashes of the SEX PISTOLS in 1978, PUBLIC IMAGE LTD were by definition one of the pioneering post-punk groups. With John Lydon's vocals complemented by ex-Clash guitarist Keith Levene, drummer Jim Walker and the now legendary Jah Wobble on bass, the group created a more dub-orientated style and their innovative music earned them five UK Top 20 Singles and five UK Top 20 Albums in a period stretching over three decades. In fact, PiL never officially split and John Lydon has recently announced a series of live dates across the UK this December. To coincide with these hugely anticipated gigs their most popular and critically acclaimed studio album has been given the complete remastering treatment. PiL's second album "Metal Box" (released in Dec 1979 and going on to sell 30k units OTC) was originally released on three 45 rpm discs (to cope with Jah's intense bass!) and housed in a metal film canister. Review 2009 has been a productive year for the PET SHOP BOYS, who won the award for Outstanding Contribution To Music at this year's BRITs and celebrated their highest UK and USA album chart positions for 15 years. A hugely successful world tour is still in progress. Their new single "Christmas" features a completely new version of "All Over the World", a track which appears on their latest album "Yes". Also included is a new version of "It Doesn't Often Snow at Christmas", originally an exclusive Christmas single issued to members of the PET SHOP BOYS fan club in 1997. Both new versions were produced by Marius de Vries and Pet Shop Boys, based on the original tracks, and have orchestral and choral arrangements by Matt Robertson and Marius de Vries. Review Heavy and slow, KILLING JOKE (at least early in their career) were a quasi-metal band dancing to a tune of doom and gloom. They eventually became less heavy and more arty (the latter seems almost impossible), more danceable even, but early on they made some urgent slabs of molten dynamite that oozed with the power of thick guitars, thudding drums, and over-the-top singing. From 1978 and into the early 80s, the band reached the peak of their popularity, and though they continued to release albums for the rest of the decade, these failed to regain the audience they had previously captured. After 1988's "Outside the Gate", the group broke up, only to reunite two years later. In 1994, after a further break of four years, KILLING JOKE once again re-formed, this time as a trio and with a more electronic slant. The band are featured on this DVD in a concert they gave at The Lokerse Festival in the Summer of 2003 - the DVD+CD double-pack contains the entire set on video and audio!
