Welcome to the weekly round-up of forthcoming releases. Jo is happy at the moment as her new album Sugar is currently our top seller, so thanks to everyone who bought copies!
Andreas Davids (XOTOX) and Stefano Rossello (DETUNE-X) are two of the most important figures in the new electro-industrial global panorama. With "We Are Deaf" they have united forces to construct an album of high quality and strength without compromise. Pure rhythmic noise and full-steam-ahead distorted bass drums battle together, in order to attack us with a devastatingly powerful sonic impact. Also available as an extremely limited edition box set (199 copies) with postcard, stickers, bracelet and above all, a bonus MCD full of exclusive material (including remixes by GEISTFORM and SANDBLASTING).
As many fans of CORVUS CORAX have long since known and never tire of pointing out: the 'pioneers for the Middle Ages' are best experienced live. The instruments CORVUS CORAX play not only sound beautiful in their music, they are also a feast for the eyes watching these minstrels. "Corvus Corax Live in Berlin" is a two CD offering, recorded in Berlin, which also comes as a limited box set with a wonderfully designed digiBOX with two audio CDs and a DVD. The live performance makes up the main part of the DVD, accompanied by a film from their early years, which shows the band at a very early stage. Slide shows of their performance in Berlin and of their latest tours to China and Mexico complement the package.
TYMPANIK AUDIO offer up three new releases, starting off with one of West Yorkshire's finest AUTOCLAV1.1. "Where Once Were Exit Wounds" is a visceral montage of complex beats, surging guitars, pulsating synthwork, and undying melodies, that will well exceed even the most ascertaining tastes. Get ready for the most engaging AUTOCLAV1.1 album to date...
The Slovakian duo dISHARMONY have scorched the underground electro-industrial scene for many years, releasing several continuously morphing collections of work. dISHARMONY manage to speak volumes once again on "Evolution" with their signature brand of down-tempo, yet hard-hitting electronica-tinged dark electro, constantly evolving beyond the typical genre clones. Dark, technoid beats and classic industrial rhythms, matched perfectly with harsh vocals and addictive melodies, arrive at a dark and complex new cavern of sonic stimulation.
Poland's hidden talent [HAVEN] release a debut album entitled "Plastic". With heavy basslines, delicate sampling, infectious, stabbing beats, and an uncanny sense of raw emotion woven into each piece of work, [HAVEN] separates himself from the pack with this debut. Bonus material is added in the form of remixes by APHORISM and TAPAGE, with spectacular results.
Every summer since 2005, the Amphi Festival has taken place in Cologne. Amphi and OUT OF LINE have put together a compilation of the latest hits by some of this years best bands for the price of an EP! 18 titles, a musical mix as versatile as the festival's line up and an illustrious assortment of artists, including HOCICO, FRONT 242, FEINDFLUG, LAIBACH, COVENANT, AGONOIZE, MARSHEAUX, EISBRECHER, LEAETHER STRIP, THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE and many more.
NIGHTWISH have re-issued the classic "End of an Era" DVD on high definition blu-ray, featuring the last concert from original vocalist Tarja, recorded in Helsinki. This disc also features bonus material not found on the original release, including all the videos from the latest album "Dark Passion Play" (with new singer Annette Olzen) and accompanying documentaries.
At first, it's a little difficult to determine where THE KNIFE ends and FEVER RAY begins. THE KNIFE is the project of Karin Dreijer and her brother Olof, while FEVER RAY is Karin with co-producers Christoffer Berg, Van Rivers, and the Subliminal Kid - but the differences aren't as distinct when listening to "Fever Ray" the first few times. Initially, the album's dark, frosty atmosphere feels like a continuation of THE KNIFE's brilliant "Silent Shout". Eventually, though, "Fever Ray" reveals itself as far darker and more intimate than anything by THE KNIFE. With tangible textures and a striking mood of isolation and singularity, "Fever Ray" is a truly strange but riveting album.
Re-releases
The [:SITD:] re-print campaign continues! Very difficult to get hold of for the past two years, "Snuff Machinery" was where all the hype started! The undisputed Number 1 cult club hit of the year 2002, and it included no less than nine tracks. As well as the famous club mix, the EP also features four additional mixes and - with "Mortal" and "Hurt" - two more club smashes.
THE RETROSIC started in April 2001 with the publication of their (long deleted) debut "Prophecy". Three years later "God of Hell" appeared in three different editions (all of which have been sold out for a long time). THE RETROSIC delivered a masterpiece of harsh arrangements combined with biting vocals. A classic, and now finally available again!
More again from DEATH IN JUNE - released exactly five years ago, "Abandon Tracks!" includes rarities, remixes and original unreleased recordings, all in brilliantly re-mastered quality. DEATH IN JUNE/BOYD RICE have a couple of re-issues as well - released in September 2004, "Alarm Agents" is a marriage made in Hell!, and originally released in 1996 as Scorpion Wind's "Heaven Sent", "Scorpion Wind" has long been considered the 'lost' classic collaboration between DEATH IN JUNE and BOYD RICE. All three are now available again in very limited quantities, so be quick!
There are a host of IKON releases available again in small numbers as well, so again order very quickly. "Black Friday" was recorded live in Rome in 2003, "Black Radio" was recorded live in Melbourne in 1994 and has bonus tracks, "Out of Balance, Out of Tune" was released in 2003 and contains excerpts from live shows and rehearsals of the VERY early days of IKON, "Thank You Very Much, Goodnight" was one of the earliest ever releases and originally limited to 500 copies, and "The Trial of Destiny" was once a bootleg recording from a live show in Melbourne in 1999, but is now acknowledged by the band and officially released. "Afterlife", the split release with THE REDRESSER, first released in 2001, has also been made available again in small numbers. "Amongst the Runes" is back available too after being sold out for a long time.
And lastly, we have now added the first release by MESH for Major Records - "The World's a Big Place", which was a live DVD featuring a gig from January 2007 in Krefeld, Germany. Songs from "We Collide" alternate with classics such as "People Like Me". The changeful moods are underlined by video projections in the background, creating an impressive atmosphere, especially for contemplative tracks like "Room With a View". The live DVD also features extensive bonus material, including backstage and studio footage.
Have a great week!

Review
Andreas Davids (XOTOX) and Stefano Rossello (DETUNE-X) are two of the most important figures in the new electro-industrial global panorama; composers, producers, and DJs who for years have been hitting us over the head with their harsh audio assaults.
With "We Are Deaf" they have united forces to construct an album of high quality and strength without compromise. Pure rhythmic noise and full-steam-ahead distorted bass drums battle together, in order to attack us with a devastatingly powerful sonic impact, forcing our bodies into movement and testing the limits of our eardrums. Included on the album is an unexpected 10 minute jam session divided into two parts, rhythmic and then pure noise. A release aimed at alternative dance floors across the globe and rhythmic noise junkies alike... not to be missed!

Review
The limited box set of "Corvus Corax Live in Berlin" comes in a wonderfully designed digiBOX with two audio CDs and a DVD. Something which many fans have long since known and never tire of pointing out: The 'pioneers for the Middle Ages' are best experienced live. Only in a live setting can the whole scope of this band unfold, and it is this spectacular live performance which has helped CORVUS CORAX to have such a significant influence on the Medieval scene during the 20 years of their existence.
The instruments CORVUS CORAX play not only sound beautiful in their music, they are also a feast for the eyes watching these minstrels in their accumulation of wood, brass, leather and exquisite fabrics - in action and up close. Thus it is a real gain in sensual experience listening to and watching CORVUS CORAX. "Corvus Corax Live in Berlin" is a show of more than two hours in length recorded in the Passionskirche in Berlin, and this is what makes up the main part of the DVD. It is accompanied by a film from their early years – "Mittelalter Jetzt" ('The Middle Ages Now') – which shows the band at a very early stage. Slide shows of their performance in the Passionskirche and of their latest tours to China and Mexico complement the package. And in the booklet former band member Meister Selbfried remembers his live experiences with the band.

Review
‘"Where Once Were Exit Wounds"‘ perpetuates the AUTOCLAV1.1 legacy with a stunning presentation of electronic works that truly captures the heart and soul of this Tympanik artist favourite.
While still absorbing praise from his critically-acclaimed 2008 release ‘"Love No Longer Lives Here"‘ AUTOCLAV1.1'’s Tony Young reaches even deeper into his seemingly endless bag of talent, to produce a work that is sure to be hailed as his most promising to date. "Where Once Were Exit Wounds"‘ is a visceral montage of complex beats, surging guitars, pulsating synthwork, and undying melodies, that will well exceed even the most ascertaining tastes, all the while exhibiting a flow of embracing atmospheres and lovely melodic breeziness that will encompass its listener with warmth and gentle adrenaline time and time again. AUTOCLAV1.1 fearlessly interjects a powerful concoction of love, loss, and despair fueled by lathering electronic rhythms, akin to a thoughtful drive accelerating almost uncontrollably along a distant country road on a warm summer night.

Review
Under-rated, yet revered with undying admiration by the already initiated, this Slovakian duo has (un)quietly scorched the underground electro-industrial scene for many years, releasing several continuously morphing collections of work amongst the awe of fans and music critics alike. With a plethora of remixing and album credits to their name, dISHARMONY manage to speak volumes once again with their signature brand of down-tempo, yet hard-hitting electronica-tinged dark electro, never paying any mind to looming trends, but instead constantly evolving beyond the typical genre clones. Thus they earn their right to the throne amongst a horde of imitators.
With graceful progression towards the beautiful and harsh, dISHARMONY utilize their unique mesh of dark, technoid beats and classic industrial rhythms, matched perfectly with harsh vocals and addictive melodies, to arrive at a dark and complex new cavern of sonic stimulation. You may know dISHARMONY's critically-acclaimed last album "Malignant Shields". You may know their prolific remix collection "Cloned: The Other Side Of Evolution". You may know their recent collaborations with the likes of FLINT GLASS, TOTAKEKE, MNEMONIC, STENDECK, FRACTIONAL, ANHEDONIA, ZENTRIERT INS ANTLITZ, and countless others. But be sure of this: you do not know "Evolution"… yet.

Review
Summer time = festival time! Every summer since 2005, the Amphi Festival has been a must-attend event, taking place each year in July at the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne. All these things added together make the "Amphi Festival 2009 Compilation" the perfect festival companion. | Fever Ray |
Fever Ray |
|
|
£12.50 |
 |
Review
At first, it's a little difficult to determine where THE KNIFE ends and FEVER RAY begins. On paper, it's clear -- THE KNIFE is the project of Karin Dreijer and her brother Olof, while FEVER RAY is Karin with co-producers Christoffer Berg, Van Rivers, and the Subliminal Kid -- but the differences aren't as distinct when listening to "Fever Ray" the first few times. Initially, the album's dark, frosty atmosphere feels like a continuation of THE KNIFE's brilliant "Silent Shout", and the oddly bouncy rhythms on songs like "Triangle Walks" and "Coconut" recall the duo's exotic-yet-frozen Nordic/Caribbean fusion. Eventually, though, "Fever Ray" reveals itself as far darker and more intimate than anything by THE KNIFE. THE KNIFE's spooky impulses are usually tempered by vivid pop instincts that FEVER RAY replaces with a consistently eerie mood, particularly on "Concrete Walls", which feels like an even grimmer cousin of "Silent Shout"'s "From Off to On". However, "Fever Ray"'s mix of confessional lyrics and chilly, blatantly synthetic and often harsh sounds make this album as successful an electronic singer/songwriter album as BJÖRK's "Homogenic". These are some of the most alluring and disturbing songs Dreijer has been involved in making: the excellent album opener "If I Had a Heart" explores possibly inhuman need with a churning, almost subliminal synth and murky bass driving Dreijer's pitch-shifted vocals (which sound more like a different part of her psyche than a different character in the song); when her untreated voice comes in, keening "will I ever ever reach the floor?" she sounds even more frail and desperate by comparison. The rest of "Fever Ray" follows suit, offering fragile portraits and sketches that walk the fine line between intimate and insular. Dreijer further expands on the storytelling skills she developed on "Silent Shout": the characters in her songs feel even more resonant and unique, especially on "When I Grow Up", which is as fascinatingly fragmented as a child's train of thought, skipping from sentiments like "I'm very good with plants" to "I've never liked that sad look by someone who wants to be loved by you." She also has an eye for unusual details, as on "Seven"'s "November smoke, and your toes go numb." It all comes together on the haunting "Now's the Only Time I Know", where the low end of Dreijer's voice sounds especially vulnerable and the lyrics fill in just enough to be tantalizing. At times, "Fever Ray" threatens to become a little too mysterious, but it never sounds less than intriguing, from the layers of claps and castanets that make up the beat on "I'm Not Done" to "Keep the Streets Empty for Me"'s almost imperceptible guitars. With tangible textures and a striking mood of isolation and singularity, "Fever Ray" is a truly strange but riveting album.

Review
The VOX POPULI! were a franco-greek project initiated in 1982. One year later, the first mini LP "Ectoplasmies" was released on the VP231 label – an album that featured strong coldwave influences and that had been created together with one of the leading French industrial bands: Pacific 231. Following a meeting with his wife-to-be, Persian originated Mitra, and her brother Arach in 1984, Kyrou started to express in his music the passion he gained for oriental music, electronics and psychedelic rock. The albums Myscitismes and Aither (released in 1989 on V.I.S.A.), involved numerous musicians from different cultural environments and marked the creation of an all-new genre, a very uncommon mix of styles that became the trademark for VOX POPULI!
The 26 tracks (all in completely remastered quality) on this CD were recorded from 1984 to 2009, and will lead you through the eclectic musical spheres of this outstanding project.

Review
The history of THE RETROSIC started in April 2001 with the publication of their (long deleted) debut "Prophecy". Since then they have released a number of albums and EPs and remixed countless artists. Three years after their debut, "God of Hell" appeared in three different editions (all of which have been sold out for a long time). Unimpressed by the huge pressure caused by the high expectations under which the album was conceived, THE RETROSIC delivered a masterpiece of harsh arrangements combined with biting vocals. Hard electronics meet more unusual instrumentation than ever before: in "The Storm", Indian flutes open the album. Martial military drums find their way and ethereal boys' choirs rise in the final part of "Maneater". Written under the leitmotif "Destroy the World to Save It", "God of Hell" is thematically a logical consequence of its predecessor, but considers the issue globally. A classic, and now finally available again!

Review
Originally released in 1996 as Scorpion Wind's "Heaven Sent", this album has long been considered the 'lost' classic collaboration between DEATH IN JUNE's neo-folk pioneer Douglas P. and industrial music's renegade innovator BOYD RICE, joined by percussionist John Murphy (ex-SPK, THE ASSOCIATES, CURRENT 93). It was re-released in December 2007 as digitally remastered CD, including two extra tracks from the era and in new artwork, presented in a red and black foil-blocked 'softpak'. After being unavailable for some time, this edition is now back in very, very limited quantities. Order quickly!

Review
First single (actually a 6-track EP) from the band's forthcoming album "Love, Hate and Sorrow". The EP contains an 'IKONized' version of Pink Floyd's "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" which is one of a dozen songs that will be featured on a (download-only) cover-versions album in the US. The EP also includes three additional, exclusive tracks from the album sessions and an extended version of the single.
IKON's track "A Line On a Dark Day" from the "League of Nations" EP (2007) was named second best song of 2008 by Black Magazin, and a similar quality in "Amongst the Runes" is sure to please new and longstanding IKON fans alike.

Review
The first release of the British band MESH at Major Records was a live DVD featuring a gig from January 2007 in Krefeld, Germany. MESH swept their audience along with an energetic performance and an interesting setlist. Songs from the current album "We Collide" alternate with classics such as "People Like Me". The changeful moods are underlined by video projections in the background, creating an impressive atmosphere, especially for contemplative tracks like "Room With a View". But a MESH concert is always good for simply having a party, which is guaranteed by such powerful songs as "Step By Step" or "This Is What You Wanted". The live DVD also features extensive bonus material, including backstage and studio footage.

Review
OXYD's previous album, "Larva" saw a huge step forward and change in production. And with this new release, OXYD are once again searching through new electronic territories, exploring the new paths and corners that appeared on the previous release and pursuing them even further. Atmostpheric elements, combined with dominant beats and monumental sceneries set the stage, whilst gothic voices accompanied by synthetic pulses and melodic lines make up the foreground. A mix of IDM and analog elements into which flow dark ambient textures and industrial elements. This album is yet another definitive step foward whose dynamic face and stronger attitude to production make it a musical experience not to be missed.

Review
Second re-release of their second album, originally released in May 2006 in a limited edition of 888 copies and sold out one month later.
With "Pièce Héroique" TRIARII kept on marching on the military trail, having significantly improved since their debut "Ars Militaria". Appealing and widely danceable tracks have helped TRIARII to secure their position in the hardly disputed military pop genre combining martial, bombastic and neo-classical tunes. New musical influences are also apparent, due to the collaboration on "Roses 4 Rome" with Tomas Pettersson (ORDO ROSARIUS EQUILIBRIO) a track that is guaranteed to lead to full dance floors in the relevant establishments.

A long awaited second album from this talented musician, who with his debut "Destructive Forces" has already muddied the waters of the IDM genre. Crystal electronics in pulsating rhythms and atmospheric labyrinths result in a timeless piece from this creative artists, who is continually crossing the boundaries of human perception. Review
The cybernetic revolution is about to get a new face, in the form of this very promising act making their debut on the Aliens Production label with this very strong album. Dazzling, dark ambient soundscapes; music that quickly draws you in and won't let you go back; bright palettes of sounds, noises and unexpected turns - all these elements will follow you during this entire space trip. A striking mix of IDM, ambient and synthetic electronics. Also includes great remixes by projects like OXYD, SUBHEIM and ANHEDONIA. This is a very dark album, that will certainly tickle the fancy of imaginative listeners.

Review
Amazing comeback from one of the best electro acts ever to come out of Scandinavia in general, and Finland specifically! Formed in 1991, they have released a string of albums and EPs on Cyberware (the same label that launched TERMINAL CHOICE) and they have then been one of the highlight bands on A Different Drum's roster for many years, always presenting punchy, crisp electronic music that ranges from melancholy moods to danceable club hits. "Antidote" is another masterpiece, recorded over the course of years, pulling together several great vocalists from the scene to color each track in its own unique way. Find out why NEUROACTIVE are so highly esteemed in the electronic underground, and take the "Antidote"!

Review
HELMOND'S debut is a dark mixture of ritual and ambient sounds with neoclassical and electronic influences. Thematically "Licentia Poetica" is dedicated to the masters of literature and philosophy of days gone by and is based on works by – among others – Hermann Hesse, Friedrich Nietzsche and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

Review
This album is a masterpiece of oldschool industrial/power-electronics - probably the most powerful album STAHLWERK 9 ever did! The album consists of previously unreleased songs, recorded between 1999 and 2007 and planned for various compilations that eventually were never released, as well as some other exclusive tracks from the band's early years and two perfectly recorded, exclusive live songs.
Comes packaged in a DVD-sized case.

Review
Originally released in the year 2000, re-released in 2001 and 2004 and unavailable since April 2006, Cold Spring is finally repressing this title. The incredible orchestral power of VON THRONSTAHL has found its first climax on this CD. "Imperium Internum" became an instant classic of its genre - massive orchestral arrangements and military anthems, akin to the finest moments of IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES, LAIBACH, TURBUND STURMWERK and BLOOD AXIS. Accompanied by a fantastic book packed with images of VON THRONSTAHL and their manifesto.

Review
Prepare to be stunned by the debut album from Midnight Resistance. "Remote" describes the feelings that many people feel when alone in a crowd - despite the noise and the movement, one can sometimes feel distant, lonely, and remote. This is also a fitting description for the sound of the album, which is packed with energy, intensity, and thick sounds, yet at the same time presents a lyrical depth and introspective attitude that one would experience while meditating alone in a remote landscape. This is a powerful synthpop album that can equally be a hit on the dancefloor as it can be your own room, on your own headphones, and in your car as you drive to far off destinations. If you enjoy the popular German synthpop tradition from bands like De/Vision, Neuroticfish, Beborn Beton, etc. then join the Midnight Resistance!

Review
Brand new album from the SCREAMING BANSHEE AIRCREW that really shows them pushing the boundaries of their sound to new limits. Their musical direction has been gradually evolving over the past few releases and here they have taken a very decisive step into something really new and exciting. Drums are tribal and compelling, with bass-rich soundscapes highlighted by guitar, haunting violin and vocals. There's also plenty of that raw post-punk edge that they have been developing into their unique Trashvogue sound. Best of all this is an album that really captures the energy of their live performances!

Electronically Yours Volume 1 |

£14.25 |

Review
Here it is - the release of Electronically Yours "EY Volume 1", possibly the most significant collection of new electronic pop music since 1981's "Some Bizzare Album" which launched the recording careers DEPECHE MODE, SOFT CELL, THE THE and BLANCMANGE. Featuring synthly the best new acts on Planet Earth, "EY Volume 1" has been pre-programmed for your listening pleasure!
Electronically Yours started life as a blog in tandem with Secrets Online, both in celebration of synthesizer pioneers THE HUMAN LEAGUE. The thrill of electronic music merged the two sites into one. But then in late 2006, the discovery of Greek electro-maidens MARSHEAUX changed everything...
EY webmeister Rob Windle (AKA Orac)'s belief in the duo's wonderful analogue synchronicity and Eurocentric charm led to them headlining the first 'EY Night' for their live UK debut in London and the aftermath was an enthusiastic union with Undo Records to bring you this CD. Only one condition was specified...all the tracks had to be 'really good'!
So it is only apt that MARSHEAUX contribute a brand new track "Sadly" to this collection as well as having a hand in several of the remixes on show. "EY Volume 1" perfectly captures a fantastic moment in time. The last 24 months have seen a resurgence in what is known to many as 'electropop'. In the past, it was the mainstay of boys with their toys who were prepared to play the role of 'outsider' in yesterday's tomorrow. What has revitalised the genre without a doubt are the feisty, glamourous ladies who are not only fronting the music but are helping to create it too. No electropop puppets here! 21st Century electro is fresh BECAUSE of the female voices... 80s synth pop never sounded this sexy!
So taking the lead from 21st Century female-fronted electronic acts LADYTRON, GOLDFRAPP and MISS KITTIN, this brilliant compilation brings together the best of 'neu musik' for those who still love the sound of synth.
No guitars here and frankly who cares?

Review
Airy melodies, playful sounds without fear of crossing the border into sweet catchiness, yet paired with coolness, energy and a small hint of dark pathos – if there is one band these days that manages to preserve the spirit of the Golden Eighties, it must be the electronic girlie-duo MARSHEAUX. Fortunately, Sophie and Marianthi do not resort merely to blindly copying well-tried success formulae from pop-eras past, but rather use the same tools to cook up a delicate and delicious electro pop stew of their own. On this, their third album, the two girls prove yet again that they have got a formidable talent for writing irresistibly catchy melodies, spiced up with a healthy dose of modern club sensibility. The darker note that haunts a few of the tracks, quite befitting of the album title, provides an interesting counterpoint, as well. This album find MARSHEAUX are as versatile as never before: minimal disco anthems like the singles "Summer", "Ghosts" and "Breakthrough" go hand in hand with picture-prefect pop tunes and excursions into more beat-oriented territories. "Lumineux Noir" is the perfect fusion of Pop and Club, an irresistible minimal disco trip... in short: an album to fall in love with!
The first edition of this release comes as a special limited double CD.

Review
ROTERSAND take up the fight against conformity and standardisation. The influence of media and marketing strategies increasingly undermines the significance of individuality. In order to extend and facilitate access to our personal data and consumer profiles, the system has declared a war on error; a war against the unpredictable, the imponderable, the 'error' in every one of us. It is ROTERSAND's aim to intentionally cause flaws in that system as a means of civil disobedience. They oppose the system with a clear message: "It's my life, it's my mind, it's my heart – I'm not a digit". To prevent us from eventually becoming mere cogs in a perfectly synchronized data exploitation system, ROTERSAND call upon us to "Be less transparent, be less predictable, be an 'error' in this ever-refining matrix of the commerce machinery!”
"War on Error" contains seven exclusive mixes and one track not available anywhere else ("Dirty"). This supercharged E.P. will take the electro dancefloors by storm and also recruit an army of new fans. Once again ROTERSAND prove that not only do their sales figures rank at the top of the international electro scene, but also that their massive tracks set the clubs ablaze and their intelligently produced songs captivate live audiences the world over.
This mini-album comes in a precious digipak and presents the lyrics in an atmospheric booklet which visualizes the topics. The booklet is designed by Ingo Römling, whose artwork has already graced the most recent releases of ASP, L'ÂME IMMORTELLE and IN STRICT CONFIDENCE.

Review
Following on from the highly sucessful limited boxset "Reformation 01", Irish/English duo VNV NATION are set to release the full length album "Of Faith, Power and Glory". This album sees the band reach a new level musically. More soulful and raw than ever before, VNV NATION are moving into new musical territories with their own distinctive sound. "Of Faith, Power and Glory" is set to be the band's strongest and most profoundly evocative release yet, taking a big leap beyond what they had achieved on their last album "Judgement".
The album features a cover designed by Polish graphic artist Michal Karcz, who also created the artwork for "Judgement". It is undoubtedly one of his finest works, featuring an image of a monument in the middle of a wasteland, a metaphor for all our greatest hopes and solemn intentions, as well as the brutal extremes that we are capable of, the schizophrenic nature of human beings and the eternal struggle to move forward.
In keeping with the band's environmental principles, the new CD will come in extremely environmentally friendly packaging, using only recycled paper, vegetable ink and water based glue. Even the print on the CD uses vegetable ink. The packaging weighs 40-50% less than normal packaging which means it uses less fuel when it's transported, which reduces the carbon footprint of the CD production. The best part is that it looks great too!

Review
CLAN OF XYMOX already proven with the taster single "Emily" that after almost 25 years, their creative potential is a long way from being exhausted. And now it's finally here! The long-awaited, brilliant new full-length album from these living legends. Elegiacally beautiful, melancholically powerful, emotionally stirring. Shimmering goth rock guitars meet modern electronic sounds; pulsating walls of sound meet no-nonsense rhythms, and everything is crowned with dark vocals which are heart-rending, full of hymnal yearning, yet powerful. Classic darkwave of the olden days combines with the electronically-orientated modern era to form a fascinating and unique creation which combines masterly, mighty rock songs and sensitive ballads.
So CLAN OF XYMOX make the perfect transition from their beginnings as one of the most important bands on the legendary 4AD label through to the modern age of the 21st century. "In Love We Trust" forms the perfect high point to a path which once began with "Clan of Xymox" and which was developed further with "Medusa". This album will come to be mentioned in the same breath as classics such as "Disintegration" from THE CURE and "Victorialand" from THE COCTEAU TWINS.
This first edition of "In Love We Trust" is released as a lavish 6-panel digipak with an extensive booklet which perfectly sets the visual scene for the story and which can be described without exaggeration as a work of art. A collectors' piece which no fan of CLAN OF XYMOX should be without!

Review
X MARKS THE PEDWALK were without a doubt one of the most famous dark electro outfits of the 90s, often referred to as the 'German Skinny Puppy'. It has been very quiet around Sevren Ni-Arb, the mastermind of XMTP – a situation that promises to soon be changing... with an all new XMTP album in the pipeline for late 2009!
Their second and without doubt one of their most important releases "Abattoir", released by Zoth Ommog on vinyl only in 1990, and as a CD single in 1991.
Originally just four tracks, Infacted Recordings have enriched this re-release with all three tracks from X MARKS THE PEDWALK's very first 12" "Arbitrary Execution", plus an additional song called "Interruption" (previously available only on a long-deleted compilation album). Also included are the previously unreleased "The Killing Had Begun", the RAZORMAID mix of "Abattoir", and a further, completely unreleased extended mix by DJ TONYY from Brazil. All in all a full-length album of 11 tracks for the price of an EP! CULT!

Review
CAMOUFLAGE are one of the few German bands to have been making music successfully at home and abroad for the last couple of decades. "The Great Commandment" (1987) and "Love Is a Shield" (1989) were actually worldwide hits. After four albums, CAMOUFLAGE felt it was time to experiment. This phase reached its zenith with the album "Spice Crackers" in 1995 – the most daring, most interesting work they ever released. Electropop tracks sit side by side with hypnotic, repetitive, spherical pieces which give a taste of what follows on the bonus disc.
The bonus CD contains 14 tracks, eleven of which have never before seen the light of day. Unlike any of their other productions, "Spice Crackers" drew heavily on extravagant live sessions and bold experimentation. Countless tapes and DATs mounted up, of which only a fraction made it onto the final album. Yet amongst the "rejects" were genuine pearls of 90s electronic music (dub techno, downbeat, electronica, intelligent dance music, ambient), evoking memories of the golden age of German electronic creativity, the 1970s. This is no ordinary bonus CD, it is an important, integral element of the re-release. Heiko Maile, CAMOUFLAGE founder member and producer of "Spice Crackers" says about this re-release: "It was a very formative and inspiring time for us in terms of album production, so the additional CD offers something of an insight into these works".

Review
Sharpen your fangs, the Helsinki Vampires are back. And this time, they're "Back in Blood". THE 69 EYES return with their ninth studio album, which has been hailed a latter-day "Appetite for Destruction". With blood on their hands and AC/DC on their stereo, the bloodsuckers have combined their past to focus on the future. Turning their back on the comic book glam of "Angels", The Eyes have opened a heavier chapter in their musical career. For the first time this decade, honorary sixth vampire Johnny Lee Michaels has been granted temporary leave from the batcave and Matt Hyde (SLAYER/MONSTER MAGNET) has been invited over the threshold. "He's cleaned the table and dusted the skeletons!" singer Jyrki 69 laughs. "It's like when Rick Rubin helped THE CULT discover themselves on 'Electric' - we made a similar spiritual journey with Matt." Once again THE 69 EYES have their finger on the pulse of darkness with 12 goth'n'roll anthems guaranteed to rock the crypt. "We haven't made a concept album but nearly all the songs have something to do with the undead or at least horror as a genre." The album opens with title track "Back in Blood", which is a fast-paced wake-up call to the vampire king who's been asleep for centuries and is now ready to rock. Blood is the new black and it's never tasted this good: "2000 years – now, baby I’m back!" he sings, licking his lips. Jyrki describes the song as: "More Mötley than Mercy but with a Crüe made of Sisters." If you want blood, you've got it!
This limited edition also contains a bonus DVD.
