Even seventeen years after the debut, there seems to be no end to the success of Rudy Ratzinger's project. The 'regular' edition of "Siamese" comes in a six-panel deluxe digipak with 24-page booklet, whereas the special edition adds the exclusive "Boneshaker Baybee" DVD. There's vinyl too and a deluxe box set that includes an exclusive double CD edition of the album with the 19-track bonus disc "Siamese Studies/Remixes", a "Siamese" t-shirt and tons of other stuff!
Each :WUMPSCUT: album since "Embryodead" has been accompanied by a limited edition "DJ Dwarf" MCD, reserved for DJs and journalists. For the first time ever, the DJ Dwarf CD accompanying the latest album is being made available to the general public in very limited quantities - only 500 copies worldwide.
"Isn't It Strange" is the latest single from wonderful electropop duo PARRALOX, taken from their recent highly popular album "State of Decay". The full tracklisting will be published soon - strictly limited to 500 copies worldwide.
The most outstanding of Daniel Myer's (countless) projects is ARCHITECT. Three years after "Lower Lip Interface" Hymen records present the long-awaited fifth album! "Consume Adapt Create" is a unique blend of atmospheric IDM, cinematic samples, powerfully distorted sequences, ramming electro grooves, razor-sharp breakbeats, and haunting ambiance. Music to move the dancefloor while still creating enough depth and texture for heavy listening through your headphones.
The overhyped golden age of 'neo-EBM' is long gone, but salvation is at hand from Sweden. Equipped with power, attitude and character, MERGEL KRATZER enter the hard-fought arena, determined to awake the stagnating genre from its slumber. "Isotop" unleashes a highly addictive energy seldom found in today's scene. "Isotop" is being released as a limited double digipak featuring three sold-out Sweden-only EPs on a bonus disc.
After a long period of silence, PULCHER FEMINA returns with "Darkness Prevails". Featuring thirteen new tracks created and performed in Roberto Conforti's unmistakable and unique sound, it will certainly be hailed as his greatest work to date. Somewhere between synthpop and EBM, this is a high quality release - MNS recommended.
SNOG's latest release is truly a landmark album. Like RADIOHEAD's "OK Computer", "Last of the Great Romantics" sees a beloved band at their conceptual and creative peak. Recorded entirely in analogue facilities using a vast collection of vintage studio equipment, this is a lush, sincere masterpiece.
With "Vernunft Ist Nichts - Gefühl Ist Alles" ('Reason Is Nothing - Feeling Is Everything") the khaos rockers SAMSAS TRAUM deliver an opulent four-disc birthday box as a companion to their successful birthday album. The set features one CD with the original mix of "13 Jahre Lang Dagegen", another with an entirely new mix and a DVD containing numerous live clips. However, it will most certainly be the fourth disc that will provoke wet dreams in the worldwide beetle platoons: an exceedingly revealing and enlightening rarities collection. John and Paul Healy, a.k.a. SOMATIC RESPONSES, are aurally focussed on complex dislocated and broken beats, distorted intelligent constructions, fascinating sonic structures, force and sweetness enlaced. "Neon" is a dark, calming kaleidoscope of state-of-the-art electronic sound mastery.
Fizzy with inspiration, GOLDFRAPP's "Rocket" is a goosebump brilliant tune. It comes complete with fantastic new mixes by TIËSTO, RICHARD X and others, and is accompanied by a typically fabulous video.
"We Are Complex" is the brand new album by the French-British band CURL, lead by Franck A, former guitarist of CORPUS DELICTI. CURL's sound is quite unique, taking influences from DAVID SYLVIAN, JOY DIVISON, NINE INCH NAILS, THE CURE, COCTEAU TWINS, and KRAFTWERK. Their second album "Inner" was released by EMI and their cover of "Closer" by NIN won a nomination for the QWARTZ Electro Music Awards. This new album is a true masterpiece.
A swirling torrent of luscious synths, steady glitch-soaked beats, provocative vocal samples, and powerful piano movements, CANDLE NINE's debut "The Muse in the Machine" easily cultivates both cerebral wonder and lip-biting ecstasy. Includes remixes by AUTOCLAV1.1 and ACCESS TO ARASAKA.
A few re-issues to finish with - PERSEPHONE have re-released the long sold out and highly sought-after second and third albums "Atma Gyan" and "Mera Sangeet Kho Gaya"; and PAUL ROLAND has re-released one of his best albums "Duel" as a special 20th Anniversary edition.

Review
For years he has made a name for himself under various guises in the modern electronic music scene, but the most outstanding of Daniel Myer's (countless) projects is ARCHITECT. Three years after "Lower Lip Interface" Hymen records present the long-awaited fifth album! The difference between the true creative artist and the impersonator is the way in which they deal with influences. Myer's inspirations range from drum'n'bass wizards ENDUSER and CURRENT VALUE up to breakcore warlords VENETIAN SNARES and OTTO VON SCHIRACH - but it is unmistakably ARCHITECT you hear in every note of each track. "Consume Adapt Create": a unique blend of atmospheric IDM, cinematic samples, powerfully distorted sequences, ramming electro grooves, razor-sharp breakbeats, and haunting ambiance. Music to move the dancefloor while still creating enough depth and texture for heavy listening through your headphones. Once again, D. Myer demonstrates astounding compositions, well-placed sounds and complex arrangements of synthetic noise. As heard on this record: "I see things..." - listen up and see for yourself!

| Mergel Kratzer |
Isotop |
|
|
£17.50 |
 |
Review
The overhyped golden age of 'neo-EBM' is long gone, presently consisting of a handful of exceptions among a flock of hopelessly outdated projects. Innovation? Negative. FRONT 242's "Geography" and NITZER EBB's "That Total Age" clearly belong to another age - a fact that is widely ignored in spite of the cult surrounding these works.
But salvation is at hand: as was the case with SPETSNAZ at the beginning of the new millennium, the much-needed new blood for a weakening scene once again comes from Sweden. Equipped with power, attitude and character, MERGEL KRATZER enter the hard-fought arena, determined to awake the stagnating genre from its slumber. And they are dead serious: replacing combat boots, camouflage trousers and bald heads with two fistfuls of style. To the left and right of music addict and mastermind Joel Nygren, the two alluring damsels Thistel and Julia provide both musical and optical attractions. EBM was never sexier - that's a promise!
The Gothenburg-based three-piece storm through their debut "Isotop" and unleash a highly addictive energy seldom found in today's scene. Bone-dry beats directly from the EBM manual and the fusion of Joel's direct vocals with Thistel's seductive orders form the outline of a sound which is fascinatingly armed with the modern weaponry of electronic dance music. No doubt, MERGEL KRATZER pay adequate tribute to a classic genre. With smashes like the marching "Prisoner" and "Iso", the legitimate EBM anthem of the new decade, banging through the strobelight-riven fog, one thing becomes crystal clear: this is neo-EBM in its purest form: stylish, sizzling, full of cool energy... and at any time as irresistible as only Swedish girls can be.
"Isotop" is being released as a limited double digipack featuring three sold-out Sweden-only EPs on a bonus disc accompanying the revolutionary debut, tracing the Swedish act' development back to 2004.
Forget meaty paroles and goose-steps: MERGEL KRATZER are the new contemporary face of Electronic Body Music. And it is devilishly handsome.

Review
After a long period of silence, PULCHER FEMINA returns with "Darkness Prevails". Featuring thirteen new tracks created and performed in Roberto Conforti's unmistakable and unique sound, it will certainly be hailed as his greatest work to date.
Regarding "Darkness Prevails", Conforti says, "Often, this is how I perceive the world around me. In the absence of light, darkness prevails. An age isn't called 'dark' because the light fails to shine, it's because people refuse to see it. But beneath the anger, there's the sorrow, and beneath the sorrow, there's love. In these songs, you may find words of anger, of sorrow, and of love. It depends on how much light you are missing. My intention with Darkness Prevails is to give you food for your 'inside' when it's needed."

Last of the Great Romantics |

£13.00 |

Review
Recorded over 2008/2009 in Melbourne, Berlin and Prague, SNOG's latest release is truly a landmark album. Like RADIOHEAD's "OK Computer" and Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" (to both of which it has already been compared) "Last of the Great Romantics" sees a beloved band at their conceptual and creative peak. From the blazing space-rock ballad of opening track "We're All In This Together" to the languid moog-boogie of "The End of the World" to the disco-metal pyrotechnics of "Wargasm", SNOG forge their own path and their own sound - bold, uncompromising and just a little bent. Recorded entirely in analogue facilities using a vast collection of vintage studio equipment with special guests including John Justin Stewart (GRACE JONES), Neil Boyack (ANGLER) and the City of Prague Philharmonic Choir and produced by the Calculators (THE FAINT, SCHNEIDER TM), "Last of the Great Romantics" is a lush, sincere masterpiece.

Vernunft Ist Nichts, Gefühl Ist Alles |

Review
In 2010, the festivities accompanying the symbolic thirteenth birthday of SAMSAS TRAUM enter the final stage. After the thirteen relentlessly rocking birthday cake candles on the special anniversary album "13 Jahre Lang Dagegen - Anti Bis Zum Tod" and the triumphant Wishlist tour, the beetle universe unveils the next present, and once more it is a gift for both Alexander Kaschte and his numerous followers.
Under the meaningful moniker "Vernunft Ist Nichts - Gefühl Ist Alles" ('Reason Is Nothing - Feeling Is Everything"), the khaos rockers SAMSAS TRAUM deliver an opulent four-disc birthday box as a companion to their successful birthday album, thus leading the festivities to a supreme climax.
The set features one CD with the original mix of "13 Jahre Lang Dagegen", another with an entirly new mix and a DVD containing numerous live clips. However, it will most certainly be the fourth disc that will provoke wet dreams in the worldwide beetle platoons: under the guise of an exceedingly revealing and enlightening rarities collection, we witness Alexander Kaschte opening the sealed treasure chests and long forgotten dusty archives of his career.
Among the enthralling items of this fourth disc are instrumental demos from both "Heiliges Herz" and "13 Jahre Lang Dagegen", unreleased tracks from these sessions, ancient and never-before released songs like "Schwester Eden" from SCHER(B)EN FÜR RAPUNZEL (the legendary WEENA MORLOCH predecessor), the very first official WEENA MORLOCH demo "Dandelion and His Lady of Sorrow", numerous remixes, the world's most absurd remixes, alternate versions of songs from the "A.Ura" masterpiece, an entirely new interpretation of "Thanatan und Athanasia" and last but not least some of the earliest recordings in the life of Alexander Kaschte.
Packed in a luxurious four-panel DVD digipak in a noble slipcase, a thick accompanying booklet to the ultimate birthday collection offers many unreleased photographs from the eventful history of SAMSAS TRAUM, additional information regarding the anniversary album, as well as exclusive liner notes by Kaschte himself. Strictly limited to 3000 copies worldwide, this is already an historic compendium of one of today's most extraordinary and interesting projects.

£13.00 |

Review
John and Paul Healy a.k.a. SOMATIC RESPONSES are aurally focussed on complex dislocated and broken beats, distorted intelligent constructions, fascinating sonic structures, force and sweetness enlaced. Their early productions' main focus was on hardcore and techno, later on they expanded into musical regions such as electro, dubstep, and even breakcore territories. As a diligent confluence of these styles, "Neon" is a dark, calming kaleidoscope of state-of-the-art electronic sound mastery. Dubstep beats are combined with dark ambience and manipulated voice samples. Fast, heavy breakbeats are mixed with distorted synth lines creating an industrial music flair. Drum and bass meet electro sequences. Pulsating subbasses and acherontic synth lines induce a multitude of moods between aggression, disarray and melancholy... This album demonstrates how these icons of the challenging electronic scene are still able to open their ears and tap fresh ideas from today's musical sensbilities!

Review
Brand new album by the French-British band CURL, lead by Franck A, former guitarist of CORPUS DELICTI. With Curl he decided to come back to 'new-wave' and began to explore more electronic sounds, where he succeeded in creating the right alchemy with the collaboration of British female singer Hayley Alker (of the project HELSINKI, composed of ex-CRANES members) whose voice is just beautiful. The album also includes the participation of Sebastian, the legendary singer of CORPUS DELICTI.
CURL's sound is quite unique, taking influences from DAVID SYLVIAN, JOY DIVISON, NINE INCH NAILS, THE CURE, COCTEAU TWINS, KRAFTWERK and RADIOHEAD. Their second album "Inner" was released by EMI Publishing in 2004 and their cover of "Closer" by NIN won a nomination for the QWARTZ Electro Music Awards. This new album is a true masterpiece - the sound-production is huge - it is going to be THE revelation of 2010! Don't miss this brilliant album.

Atma Gyan [Re-Release] |

£13.25 |

Review
At last: a re-release of the long sold out and highly sought-after second album from PERSEPHONE.
Two years after their sensational debut album "Home", PERSEPHONE (fronted by female vocalist Sonja Kraushofer of L'ÂME IMMORTELLE) returned with some changes to their formation. Tobias Hahn and Rig left the band to dedicate themselves completely to JANUS, and at the same time Matt Howden (SIEBEN, ex-SOL INVICTUS) and Martin Höfert (SOPOR AETERNUS) joined the project, building on the extended dark ambient rumbles and neo-classical soundscapes of previous work and emerging into a more goth-ethereal, dark folk and sacral type of music. PERSEPHONE cover a densely contoured terrain, both bound and endless, sad and hauntingly beautiful.
To listen to PERSEPHONE is to imagine what the product of a collaboration between DEAD CAN DANCE and SOPOR AETERNUS would have sounded like. Heavenly voices blend eloquently with mysterious string patterns and doom-laden rhythms. Alongside many classical musicians (violin, cello, bassoon, oboe, clarinet and much more) this album once again features Wim, ex-guitar player of CHRISTIAN DEATH. And once again the artwork has been done by JOACHIM LUETKE, who is responsible for the album layouts of MARILYN MANSON and SOPOR AETERNUS amongst others. With "Atma Gyan" the band provide music for inspiration, contemplation and relaxation - a delicate spiritual experience.

Review
At last: a re-release of the long sold out and highly sought-after third album from PERSEPHONE.
With their third album Sonja Kraushofer (L'ÂME IMMORTELLE), Matt Howden (SIEBEN, ex-SOL INVICTUS) and Martin Höfert (SOPOR AETERNUS, ex-JANUS) built further onto the blueprint of elegiac songs and sparkling soundscapes of "Atma Gyan", their acclaimed second album. The three musicians gracefully move from rhythmically-oriented songs with strong world music leanings to melodically rich, dark neo-classical pieces; at times they fuse these diverse musical influences, and occasionally they rely on Sonja's voice as the sole instrument. "Mera Sangeet Kho Gaya" offers a perfect balance between a variety of instruments and harmonious voices, delicately produced by John A. Rivers (DEAD CAN DANCE). As ever, PERSEPHONE's raison d'être is one of melancholy and loss with all songs being yearning, bittersweet, deserted and desolate. The elaborate packaging to accompany the release is a work of art in itself, presented as a fold out 12-panel crucifix with deeply atmospheric landscape photos and including all lyrics. Again the artwork has been by JOACHIM LUETKE.
"Mera Sangeet Kho Gaya" delivers a darkly delicious piece of work that is highly recommended to all lovers of heavenly voices and dark folk.

Review
The latest reissue from PAUL ROLAND's long unavailable backcatalogue, following on from last year's "A Cabinet of Curiosities/Happy Families", is "Duel" - without a doubt one of the best albums ever by PAUL ROLAND, and now available in a special 20th anniversary edition.
PAUL ROLAND originally planned a straight re-issue of the 'improved' Greek version from 2003, but on closer listening he 'heard' several subtle but significant improvements and additions that needed to be made while still retaining the original character of the tracks. These included adding harmony vocals to certain songs ("Knights", "Spring Heeled Jack", "At the Edge of the World") to fill out thin sounding choruses and middle eights, plus the odd keyboard line to add an ethereal touch to tracks which sounded rather empty on the original release ("Over the Hills") and most notably adding a (subtle) choir to "Nosferatu" which gives it a more supernatural quality.
All the live radio sessions recorded with the band shortly after the release of the "Duel" album have also been included as bonus tracks (seven songs in total), including the legendary first ever single from 1983, "Blades of Battenburg", together with two early demo version, bringing the album to a total 20 tracks!

Review
The most unusual addition to the limited edition of this release is the inclusion of a copy of PAUL ROLAND's so far unpublished 90-page novel, "The Magician of Grimm", which is set in the same medieval fantasy world as the songs and was written just a few years after the album's original release. It was originally printed in parts in the PRAS magazine "A Cabinet of Curiosities". The book is a very limited edition print run of just 200 copies, 100 of which will be included with this special edition of the album. This is an exceedingly rare release, so order quickly!

Review
PROJECT-X celebrate 15 years of being one of the most successful EBM exports ever to come out of Sweden. With several US and European tours as well as gigs on every major festival in the genre, PROJECT-X have built up a massive fanbase over the years. It has been pretty quiet since the release the album "Modus Operandi", but in 2009 the band (today consisting of Torny Gottberg, Jouni Ollila of POUPPEE FABRIKK/MR JONES MACHINE and Mattias Werdenskog) got together and really focused on a comprehensive return in 2010.
"Needles & Control" is the first track to be released from the band's new and upcoming album. A stunning four-track EP which seeing PROJECT-X paying tribute to one of their most important influences over the years - JOY DIVISION. An upbeat and hard-hitting EBM interpretation of a classic track with all the things you ask for: wicked basslines, vicious beats and a tempo that will make the electro dancefloors all over the world go wild. Add to this an incredible remix of the title track by EBM and industrial legend Claus Larsen from LEÆTHERSTRIP plus two completely new tracks in the form electronic body music anthems "Needle" and "Is This What You wanted?".
We have witnessed 15 years of PROJECT-X growing stronger and these tracks prove that the members have EBM in their hearts and minds. This combination of experience, love and attitude brings you PROJECT-X version 2010.

Review
Following on from "Please Keep Moving Forward", "Bone and Blood as Stone and Mud" is the second studio album from the eccentric UK noise/bleep/industrial project CORELINE, featuring probably the first use of an actual school choir in ultra-serious harsh electronic music. Twelve tracks and over an hour of sound ranging from harsh-and-wonky dance-floor noise anthems to experimental mucking about, culminating in "Middle", a collaboration with the multi-talented David 'Man-Bjork' Lawrie.

Review
CORELINE has been creating pounding industrial noise since the turn of the millennium. Fast, complex rhythms meet open, evocative melodies to create an infectious sound with momentum destined for the club, but with a complexity that demands your attention.
The debut album from CORELINE, "Please Keep Moving Forward" fuses harsh, complex and distorted rhythm with anthemic synth lines together creating a new sound, harsh for the dance floor but accessible enough to listen to.

Review
When Douglas McCarthy and Bon Harris formed a band in 1982 and started to record their first demos, they didn't yet know that they were writing music history. Their sound was raw and unpolished, an electronic adaptation of the dying punk movement. With minimal funding, drums, a sequencer and McCarthy's penetrating voice, they quickly came to stand as a synonym for a significant new musical genre: Electronic Body Music (or EBM for short). Through seminal albums such as "That Total Age", "Belief" and "Ebbhead", they continued to beat their own unique path, until they parted company after ten years.
However, this was not the end and recent reunion shows have proven that there is life still in the old ghost. As brilliant and relevant today as ever, they are now back with a brand new studio album, "Industrial Complex". Opening with a rousing bassline, reminiscent of the wonderful "Murderous", the opening track "Promises" sets the tone. McCarthy's voice varies from offensive to fragile, with an arrangement rich in detail, edginess and energy. This album is like a bridge back in time to the 80s. Without doubt, this is the work of NITZER EBB, with the same level of complexity that characterises all their work, traversing the years to create a new modern sound for the present.
This special UK edition features unique artwork. NITZER EBB will also be joining DEPECHE MODE as the opening act for the final leg of their "Tour of the Universe", starting in Berlin on January 9 2010, through to Dusseldorf on February 27.

The DVD also features three music videos and two exclusive live encore tracks performed at the 02 arena - including a cover of "My Girl" by Madness. Last but by no means least is the spectacular performance from the 2009 Brit Awards when the PET SHOP BOYS were honoured with the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music award. This performance features both LADY GAGA and Brandon Flowers from THE KILLERS.

Waste of Flesh |

Review
They say the road to Hell is paved with good intention, but for CONCRETE LUNG the path is littered with eroding breeze blocks and rusting steel skeletons. A malignant tumour blighting the urban sprawl, CONCRETE LUNG's corrosive sonic assault is the scream of a disenfranchised generation. Promised the technology to change the world only to see it abused by those in power, the high-def drip-feed of humanity's suffering is available to view 24/7. An internalised revolution, "Waste Of Flesh" is seven tracks of perpetually evolving death industrial, transcending the limitations of the musical gene pool they crawled from. Moving forward from the core electronica of their "The Dawn Of X" debut, Concrete Lung now wield a more brutal, more abrasive sound that bleeds forth across the more extreme ends of the musical spectrum. Incorporating elements of early PITCHSHIFTER, MINISTRY and SKINNY PUPPY, "Waste Of Flesh" sees the band combine their influences and spit them back out as lethal shards of dissonance. From the tribal drums that build to a hypnotic crescendo on the title track to the guitar napalm of "Breathe in the Monochrome" and the doom-grind that defines "Pyre Burns", CONCRETE LUNG continually seek to expand and refine their sound.
CONCRETE LUNG are Ed Oxime, formely of UK industrial scumpunks KATSCAN, and William Riever, a relapsed Australian.

Review
"Hass und Liebe" is without a doubt one of the biggest EBM scene-hits to come out of Germany to date! Created in the 90s by Heiko Daniel, the song managed to climb its way into all the important alternative charts. And now, as part of Infacted's steadily growing classics series, the label present this electro/EBM masterpiece in a "pimped" version, presenting for the first time on CD four new/previously unreleased songs, alongside "Hate and Love", the English version of the title track. Also featured is the rare "Geld" ('Money') single plus some of the best of ECO's other tunes as well! A massive 16 song full-length release, with all tracks digitally remastered by Noisuf-X!

Review
NITZER EBB are supporting DEPECHE MODE on the forthcoming leg of their world tour in January and February of 2010. To celebrate this, Mute are making available two compilation releases, a 'best of' and a remix album, together in a single slipcase.
Formed in Chelmsford when main protagonists Douglas McCarthy (vocals) and Bon Harris (drums, programming) were just 15, NITZER cut a dynamic swathe through the industrial music and Balaeric beat scenes of the 1980s and 90s. They were electro-punks before the genre even existed, at a time when THE PRODIGY were not even a gleam in fellow Essex boy Liam Howlett's eye. Militaristic, intimidating yet always accessible, NITZER EBB enjoyed a string of ferocious club hits and released five critically acclaimed albums on Mute. From their first ever single, 1984's "Isn't It Funny How Your Body Works" through to their final single "I Thought" in 1995, they were a band whose honed aggression, originality and precision were impeccable.
Artists lined up to cite them as a major influence, or less honourably, simply to exploit the EBB's musical template for their own individual gain. Whilst such a situation may be a cause of great annoyance to most bands, the EBB maintain a healthy level of stoicism. As they say, "That's the problem with being ahead of the game - the pioneers get the arrows and the settlers get the land."

Mädchen in Uniform |

Review
Don't you want them too, these girls in uniform? With their well-behaved partings, their dutifully buttoned shirts and their shiny leather boots? Chins erect and chests held high, they stand in rank and file, awaiting further instructions from NACHTMAHR high command...
With his brand new EP "Mädchen in Uniform" General Thomas Rainer dedicates a long overdue monument to the uniformed ladies of this world. And while the musical side of this release breaks rank somewhat with NACHTMAHR's back catalogue, the visual and conceptual side retain their dominant militaristic approach.
After global thrusts on the concert front and the destroying storm of decadence and obsession aptly named "Alle Lust Will Ewigkeit" which laid the world to waste and successfully defended the peak of the DAC (German Alternative Charts) for several weeks in a row, Supreme Commander Rainer puts a sonic middle finger up to all those accusing the Austrian Imperial Industrial commando of monotony. Not only is "Mädchen in Uniform" far from the usual album extraction, moreover, the three all-new tracks offer a musical experience that is certainly not what one would expect from this project.
A passionate salute to military clothing, the title track surprises the listener an old-fashioned, straight-up EBM attack in the vein of DAF or SPETSNAZ, equipped with intense vocals and blazing lyrics that once more speak out loud something we all secretly think: girls in uniforms are devilishly sexy! And this is only the beginning: enigmatic and influenced by Latin American sounds, NACHTMAHR evoke the malicious fable creature El Chupacabra in the stomping industrial track of the same name. But the EP's second big trump card is doubtlessly a very special cover version that will cause chins everywhere to drop: with imperialistic vigour and fierce vocals the high society farce "Titanic" by the infamous Austrian Superstar FALCO is being claimed for the empire, its decadent core fitting perfectly in the NACHTMAHR universe.
Eight adaptations, among them a congenial FADERHEAD interpretation of the marching title track and remixes by FEINDFLUG, MODULATE and others, "Tanzdiktator" and "Mörder", complete the musical side of this 13-track EP whose visual side explores new areas of military seduction. Unmistakably committed to the obsessive, sexualized style of the last release, the artwork and extra booklet of "Mädchen in Uniform" are a provocative homage to the much disputed and scandalizing Italian movie "The Night Porter".
But now, dear girls, put on your uniforms: General Rainer asks for the next dance.

Review
DIORAMA are announcing the 'year of the cube' with a brand new 7-track EP!
As a preview to their highly anticipated new longplayer "Cubed", "Child of Entertainment" will be appearing in stores in February 2010. As well as the album version, the title track is presented in four different interpretations, from a forceful club version to a fragile piano composition. The release is complemented with both a remake of DIORAMA's classic from 2001 "HLA" and a brilliant live version of their club hit "Advance".
In their uniquely profound style, DIORAMA merge melancholic intensity and melodic easiness into an earworm par excellence. Resignation has never been more entertaining!

Review
Do androids dream of electric sheep? Does the tin man hide a heart somewhere inside his metallic cavity? And how human can a machine actually be?
Questions like these make up the fascinating universe of THE GIRL & THE ROBOT, a German-Swedish Electro collaboration that has set out to merge the warmth of human emotions with the calculating reservation of synthetic intelligence, to create a modern electronic fairytale.
As a first result of this prolific companionship between machine man Deadbeat and the personified temptation Plastique, the duo offer the double feature single "Whole/Flowers" on which they wander effortlessly along the thin red line between unleashed passion and classy confidentiality.
Plastique's voice is as seductive and intoxicating as the aura of the tantalizing singer herself, sweeping over the songs like a lascivious kiss that would even turn an emotionless robot into a hot-blooded lover. This eye-opening and sense-reeling feeling can be experienced over and over again on this EP, whose warming vocals break the synthetically caused coolness like icicles melting in the warming sun of spring, thereby creating hypnotizing and vibrant electro dew drops.
One thing is certain: even an Android will only dream of Plastique's beauty henceforth after having laid eyes on her alluring form and having listened to her conjuring voice for one single moment.
THE GIRL & THE ROBOT unite COVENANT's elegance with CLIENT's sexy style, and with melancholic tracks like "Howling Winter" they also pledge allegiance to the solitary soundscapes of LADYTRON and RÖYKSOPP. As a result, the atmosphere of a nocturnal metropolis merges with a soft longing to create a gripping listening experience that even transcends the boundaries of the named artists: On "Whole/Flowers", the Scandinavian robot and his long-legged beauty convey the message that the seemingly paradoxical similarity between girl and robot only exists in our heads. Humans or machines... aren't we all creatures searching for comfort, freedom and love?
With remixes by DIE PERLEN and JAVELYNN FATE (the new project of former ASHBURY HEIGHTS stunner Yasmine Uhlin) on board, THE GIRL & THE ROBOT head for the future, entering a new era of the relationship between man and machine.

Review
MASSIVE ATTACK are a seminal group of musical innovators whose early work detonated the Bristol music scene of the early 90s and unwittingly gave birth to 'trip-hop'. The group formed in 1987 around their influential and legendary Dug Out Club and Jamaican-style soundsystem. The club played a groundbreaking blend of hip hop, new wave reggae, early house and techno which shaped their hugely acclaimed 1991 debut, "Blue Lines".
Their fifth studio album "Heligoland" features guest vocals from Damon Albarn, Hope Sandoval, Martina Topley-Bird, Guy Garvey and Tunde Adebimpe. Long time cohort Horace Andy makes a return alongside MASSIVE ATTACK founding members Robert Del Naja and Grant Marshall. Damon also plays bass on "Flat of the Blade" and keyboards on "Splitting the Atom" while PORTISHEAD's Adrian Utley plays guitar on "Saturday Come Slow". The band also collaborated with DFA's Tim Goldsworthy on selected tracks.

AESTHETIC PERFECTION, the harsh EBM/dark electro project of American frontman Daniel Graves, have toured extensively with the likes of COMBICHRIST and GRENDEL and their album "A Violent Emotion" has already been a smash hit in the U.S. (Bractune) and Europe (Out Of Line). Now, to coincide with AESTHETIC PERFECTION's first ever tour of Australia comes this very special Japanese Limited Digipak Edition, complete with redesigned artwork and exclusive

For their version of this classic album, Death Watch Asia went back to the original artist, Armik Davalokhanion, to source an alternative cover design and various other previously unpublished elements of artwork not included in the original release. Both the 6-panel digipak and 8-page booklet have been completely redesigned, combining these new images with art from the original versions. The bonus section features specially commissioned remixes from scene legends GRENDEL and Osaka-based DJ Taiki's DIABOLIC ART, plus remix competition winners ANIMASSACRE and MENSCHDEFEKT (newly signed to Infacted Recordings) - all four tracks are EXCLUSIVE to this edition! Best of Bak XIII [Japanese Limited Edition] |
|
|
£16.50 |
 |
Review
BAK XIII are the dark electro/new wave powerhouse from Switzerland, combining modern industrial production with classic old-school EBM sequencing: 21st Century music with punk attitude and a retro feel evidenced by song-titles like "80s Are Back Forever" and "New Wave Party". In Europe, BAK XIII have toured with such top names on the electro-industrial scene as SUICIDE COMMANDO, FRONT 242 and DAS ICH, and have remixed or been remixed by top artists like PSYCHE, HIV+ and THE NEON JUDGEMENT.
In 2008, Death Watch Asia invited BAK XIII programmer Baron Von Smock to Japan to present his ambient-industrial solo project MUSIC FOR THE SPACE live in Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto, and as guest DJ for leading dark scene event 'Tokyo Dark Castle' in Shinjuku. Now they are proud to present a world exclusive 'Greatest Hits Collection' of BAK XIII celebrating the prolific musical career of Switzerland's best-known electro-industrial act!
Originally formed in Geneva in 2001 as a duo by Baron Von Smock and DDDmix (vocals, programming), since 2003 BAK XIII have operated as a trio with guitarists Garf (2003-2006) and Tenebras (2007-2009) adding metal riffs to the mix. During this period they have also released a new studio album almost every year: "In Cauda Venenum" (2003), "Post Lucem Tenebrae" (2004), "Morituri Te Salutant" (2005), "Vae Victis" (2006) and "Ultima Ratio Regum" (2008), plus the 2006 EP "Dead Again". "Best Of BAK XIII" contains a massive 20 tracks from all five BAK XIII albums, all personally selected by the band themselves!
Under exclusive license from BAK XIII's European label Urgence Disk Records, DWA's "Best Of BAK XIII" comes with an eight-panel folding insert detailing the entire recorded history of BAK XIII, plus a four-panel insert with Japanese liner notes about the band. Limited to 200 copies, this unique album is presented in a six-panel digipak, with artwork specially commissioned for this release!

Review
Formed in the UK by KILLING JOKE keyboard player Reza Udhin, INERTIA released their first MCD "Infiltrator" on the German label Celtic Circle in 1995 to widespread critical acclaim. As a result of the popularity of "Infiltrator", between 1995-1996 INERTIA were invited to play across Europe - including an appearance at Wave Gotik Treffen 1996. The success in America of their second MCD "Mind Energy" and their debut album "Programmed to Respond" (1997) led to INERTIA's first full-length US tour, supporting DAS ICH. Since 1997, INERTIA have returned to Wave Gotik Treffen (1999), have played several lengthy headline tours of the US (with support from acts such as TERRORFAKT and PROJECT-X), and have released a further four albums: "Negative Prime" (1999), "Advanced Revelation" (2002), "Black Ice Impact" (2004), "Inertia" (2007), plus two remix albums "Demagnetized/Remagnetized" (1999) and "Positive Angel" (2000). In 2006, the American label Cleopatra celebrated 10 years of INERTIA's career by releasing a double disc 'Best Of' compilation, "Decade of Machines", and INERTIA returned to the US to tour again, this time with legendary German electro outfit ARMAGEDDON DILDOS.
The current release, another WORLD EXCLUSIVE from Death Watch Asia, contains ten remixes of songs from the most recent album "Inertia", plus the music video for "The Preacher". Remix artists include legendary names like DIE KRUPPS, YOUTH (KILLING JOKE) and ARMAGEDDON DILDOS as well as Japanese acts DIABOLIC ART (DJ Taiki), SINS OF THE FLESH and 2 BULLET. The first edition of this album, strictly limited to 100 copies, will also contain the album "Inertia" as a bonus disc, and come packaged in a luxurious digipak completely with the original twelve-page Cryonica booklet for "Inertia", plus the DWA eight-page booklet for "Interpret". This Japanese Limited Edition is the perfect introduction to one of the major forces on the UK electro-industrial scene over the past decade and a half.

| Fear Factory |
Mechanize |

|
£13.79 |
 |
Review
Mechanize is a full-fisted blast of passion and innovation that sounds like the missing link between 1995's groundbreaking "Demanufacture" and 1998's more texturally nuanced "Obsolete". Songs like "Industrial Discipline" and "Powershifter" are crushing and colossal, melding fast and precise rhythms with vocals that pinwheel from raw and scathing to hauntingly melodic while "Fear Campaign", which features harrowing spoken word passages, quickly segues into a showcase of punishing beats, rapid-fire riffs and ghostly keyboards. For the first time in years, the band's industrial roots glimmer through their street-lethal metal, thanks in part to Fulber, who worked on Fear Factory's popular industrial remix albums "Fear Is the Mindkiller" and "Remanufacture". While "Mechanize" is instantly reminiscent of Fear Factory's most potent moments of discovery, it's hardly a stroll down the old assembly line. Be it the orchestral keyboard swells of "Christploitation", the keyboard-infused dirge of "Final Exit", the taped screams and radio transmissions of "Controlled Demolition" or the last-gasp-under-shattered-glass samples of "Metallic Division", each of these tracks amply demonstrates how experience of FEAR FACTORY has evolved like a computer virus, constantly reconfiguring itself to maximize its destructive impact.

Review
"This material recalls the decadence of JOY DIVISION, BRIAN ENO and THE CURE with a pinch of SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES... sound good so far? We thought so. This type of nostalgia is central to the LUXURY STRANGER sound - it's got a mournful temper, and it's dark and tastefully rocky. Embedded within this quirky sound there exists a deep desire to evoke those old times and to revive the ancient spirit of Goth from the early 80s. This is an album for fans of traditional new wave and post-punk. The tunes are warm and wistful; the whole production is homogenous and somehow true in these uncertain times.... the sound still manages to come across as vibrant and very relevant." Sphere Magazine

Review
The GENITORTURERS need no introduction. The world's sexiest rock band is now unleashing its long-anticipated fourth studio album "Blackheart Revolution" unto the eagerly awaiting world.
Founded in Florida during the year 1991 as the brainchild of lead singer Gen, the Americans quickly rose to fame when her husband David 'Evil D' Vincent of MORBID ANGEL fame joined the band after the release of their debut. By the time of their second album "Sin City" (1998) the GENITORTURERS had gained a massive and controversial reputation with their flamboyant BDSM shows lead by the stunning blonde Gen. A third album followed with "Machine Love" (2000), tracks from which were featured in movie scores and on game soundtracks. After a creative break, the GENITORTURERS finally return. With the whipping "Blackheart Revolution", the Floridians are taking their crossover blend of US industrial metal and rock with pushing electro and hardcore punk influences onto a new level. A sharp production with rhythmical pulses and nasty electronic surprises hones the GENITORTURERS' sound to a cutting edge. This is what it would sound like if MARILYN MANSON met WHITE ZOMBIE for a wild party!
