Welcome to the weekly round-up of forthcoming releases. There is a huge number of big name releases at the moment, so this is another bumper issue.
First up is quality melodic EBM from the excellent ROTERSAND. With their new album, "Random Is Resistance", they have once again succeeded in performing the balancing act between club-friendly music and a total work of art. The first edition is released as a lavish eight-panel digipak with an extensive booklet, which can be described without over-exaggeration as a work of art. Expect another top-notch release!
EMILIE AUTUMN returns with her European smash "Opheliac". Updated and expanded for North American release, this new second 'deluxe' edition features six additional songs and lots of never-before-available video footage – over 2 hours of goth-tastic pleasure. Please note - the previous version of "Opheliac" has now been withdrawn and we only have a small number left.
"Hexakosioihexekontahexa" is the new double album from Berlin bad boys AGONOIZE. On the 22 new tracks the band are conjuring up the most effective balancing act to date between the hardest and most melodic works they have produced thus far: an onslaught of heavily distorted beats, massive shuffle-steamrollers, unexpected melodic twists and harsh dark industrial smashes. The strictly limited fan box contains the full double album, plus an extra single with four more exclusive songs, a t-shirt, and more.
X-FUSION demonstrate their premier position in the harsh electro scene with "Ultima Ratio". In his own extraordinary way Jan L. combines various styles of electronic music to achieve a complex unity. Intelligent samples, catchy melodies and hard beats blend with a sinister soundscape. The result is the best X-FUSION album of all-time. The limited 2CD digipak edition contains the bonus disc "Beyond Reality (The Orchestral Works)".
"Noise Diary" is the second outing from HOCICO front-man Erk Aicrag's solo project, and here the energetic Mexican artist has created a new RABIA SORDA album that outshines his debut in all aspects. His harsh Electroclash/Cyberpunk hybrid sounds more versatile and melodic but also more aggressive and powerful.
THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE have been touring constantly in Europe and North America. As part of this tour they played a gig at Knust (a club in Hamburg that holds about 500 people), and now the DVD of the concert has arrived! Besides the main feature, there is also live footage from two festival appearances, an interview with the band and a picture gallery.
Having recently signed to German label CONZOOM the fantastic Aussie electropop act PARRALOX are back with two very limited EP's. "Hotter" is the brand new single, which also includes remixes that are ready for the dancefloor and a new track "Don't Talk About Love". The second single from the new album "State Of Decay" is "I Am Human". Another wonderful track and a real taster of the album to follow. Both are strictly limited to 250 copies!!! Also, after the huge success of the first two parts of the "Electropop" compilation series, CONZOOM are now back with a third installation. And again, this new release will feature 13 great bands - most of them not so well known, yet definitely worth getting to know!
SAMSAS TRAUM are celebrating another anniversary with a contemptible 'best of' album: "13 Jahre Lang Dagegen – Anti Bis zum Tod". The 13 songs which saw the light of day for this particular occasion have only one purpose: to well and truly rock! This time around, soft melancholy, dark romanticism and enigmatic escapades of a poetic nature are left behind in the drawer – instead, there are fireworks, swinging manes and raw emotion! The super mega-deluxe Collector's Edition contains the CD in a luxurious digipak in special A5 format, a 28-page booklet, a poster, and more.
"Pagan Love Songs - Antitainment Compilation Volume 2" celebrates the 10th anniversary of the legendary German goth club, and features exclusive tracks and mixes by many artists, such as THE EDEN HOUSE, THE SHALLOW GRAVES, JOY/DISASTER, IKON and GROOVING IN GREEN, plus forgotten vinyl treasures like THE SCREAMING MARIONETTES, EVERY NEW DEAD GHOST's first 7", and CANCER BARRACK.
Other new releases include the long-awaited return of Philadelphia's CESIUM_137, whose new album "Identity" finds the band once again pushing the boundaries of electronic music; the ninth studio album from DER BLUTHARSCH in "Flying High!"; DISPLACER's "X Was Never Like This...", a collection of 14 brand new tracks incorporating melodic guitar, catchy beats, heart-felt melodies, funk-driven basslines, and an air of sweet melancholy; and the new album from cyberpunk band NOVAKILL "I Hate God".
Debut Releases
We are only allowed to know that HERZSCHLAG is produced by a well known musician who has already attracted a lot of attention with other projects in the global electro/EBM scene. "Fest der Liebe" could be SUICIDE COMMANDO meets SITD, AGONOIZE meets REAPER, or GRENDEL meets MODULATE! 150% club power!!!
"Domination" from PHOSGORE has arrived – twelve original tracks of industrial, electro and hardstyle elements, plus five remixes by some of the biggest names in the business: XOTOX, SAM, FabrikC, STAHLFREQUENZ and [X]-RX.
SELL SYSTEM are a highly promising synth-/futurepop band, whose album "Red Room" is an intelligent mix somewhere between DEPECHE MODE and FROZEN PLASMA.
New York's amazing new young talent, ACCESS TO ARASAKA now offers the true scope of his capabilities with the innovative new album "Oppidan". A futuristic journey of a cerebral nature, demonstrating a virtual equinox of expert beatwork and densely-layered atmospheric explorations.
OMEGA LITHIUM offer up their debut album, "Dreams in Formaline". A powerfully sinister sound which occasionally brings to mind the atmospheric goth metal of acts such as LACUNA COIL and EVANESCENCE, combining cutting metal riffs, rock elements, electro beats, machine-like coolness and haunting atmospheres at the interface of industrial, goth and metal.
And finally, we are aware of new releases from RAMMSTEIN, KRAFTWERK, MESH, etc., but the labels haven't provided us with any information (and pricing) yet, so we can't list them. As soon as we have the information required we will add these, and other, titles to the website. As usual, delays are normally down to suppliers and not us!
Gigs
Just two new ones this week, the London gigs for Dutch Electro masters GRENDEL and Martin Degville's SIGUE SIGUE SPUTNIK.
Have a great week!

Review
Ever since their debut "Truth is Fanatic" exploded like a bomb, it has been impossible to imagine the clubs and the alternative charts without ROTERSAND. And with their new album, "Random Is Resistance", they have once again succeeded in performing the balancing act between club-friendly music and a total work of art, mixing chilled-out electrobeats with shimmering futurepop sequences, trance-like sounds with atmospheric samples, clear-cut melodies with warm and charismatic vocals, subdued new wave with classical strings. Nor do they shy away from acoustic guitars and pop hooklines, creating a unique universe that pulls together all strands of electronic music and which remains masterfully emotional and above all, intelligent. "Random Is Resistance’ is the most perfect work to date from ROTERSAND's unique creative musical forge. Without doubt, in the world of electronic music, ROTERSAND once more claim their special position, not least because the intelligence of their lyrical message is mirrored in the skillfully employed variation of their music. Individualists who dance their way out of the grid, achieving musical resistance to the well-worn pigeonholes.
"Coincidence" is an unpredictable factor. To remain unpredictable was not only ever just an integral part of ROTERSAND's music. To remain unpredictable in a world in which we are (voluntarily) monitored and in which we relinquish all of our data and personal preferences in order to become the perfect controllable consumers - that is resistance! "Random Is Resistance" is guaranteed, like its predecessors, to implant itself into various charts, onto the dancefloors of the clubs and into the brains of the listeners. A collectors' piece which no fan of ROTERSAND should be without!
The first edition of "Random Is Resistance" is released as a lavish eight-panel digipak with an extensive booklet full of sombre illustrations which perfectly set the visual scene for the story and which can be described without over-exaggeration as a work of art.

Opheliac [Deluxe Second Edition] |
|
|
£16.50 |

Review
COURTNEY LOVE's 'anarchy violinist' EMILIE AUTUMN returns to the digital and physical shelves with her European smash "Opheliac". Updated and expanded for North American release, this new second 'deluxe' edition (and fourth version of "Opheliac" altogether!) features six additional songs and lots of never-before-available video footage – over 2 hours of goth-tastic pleasure. And this time around Emilie is keeping the spotlight all to herself. With appearances on Leno and Letterman already under her corset, glossy magazine covers, and guest spots on albums by artists as varied as OTEP, BILLY CORGAN, COURTNEY LOVE, as well as TV's Metalocalypse, Autumn's devilishly dark lyrics, metal-shredding violin solos, and industrial-strength voice reinvent 'gothic' for the masses... and goths have never had so much fun.
Visually and sonicly compelling, Autumn was recently chosen by Interview Magazine as one of their "14 Artists to Watch". The Los Angeles-born starlet's theatrical stage show is a sexy circus of glam-rock burlesque, backed by her evocatively-clad girl entourage "The Bloody Crumpets". Written in the style she calls "Victoriandustrial", "Opheliac" is a magnificent musical miasma reflecting Autumn's life: a child-prodigy's classical training and performances in the concert halls of the world, a passion for industrial and metal, and of course all things Vaudeville! Bravely and humorously addressing subject matter ranging from depression (with the harpsichord-driven "Opheliac") to self-mutilation ("Liar"), sexual abuse ("Gothic Lolita"), suicide ("The Art of Suicide") and Autumn's real-life experience as a psych ward inmate ("Thank God I'm Pretty”), "Opheliac" is truly a reflection of all of us!
The results are in; with Vaudevillian appeal, Autumn's signature electric violin, heartbreakingly lush orchestrations, hard-core beats, and intense lyricicsm, "Opheliac" is the musical calling card for the blue-black set! The finest harpsichord-heavy romp through soundscapes at midnight!

Review
Don't worry, you needn’t be a classical philologist to be swept away by "Hexakosioihexekontahexa", the newest output from the Berlin Bad Boys. With their new double album, the trio is elevating their self-minted sub genre of 'Aggro-Electro' into altogether new dimensions. On the 22 new tracks that are distributed evenly onto two full-length CDs, Agonoize are conjuring up the most effective balancing act to date between the hardest and most melodic works they have produced, thus far: an onslaught of heavily distorted beats, massive shuffle-steamrollers, unexpected melodic twists and harsh dark industrial smashes.
Musically and thematically, "Hexakosioihexekontahexa" is the most versatile trip into the dark sides of human existence that the band has ever attempted, featuring the trademark mix of systematic provocation, tongue-in-cheek horror trips, well-aimed punches into the heart of the establishment, plus a few hot potatoes that the lads manage to tackle with just the right amount of tact. "But does it shake the walls as it used to?" some might ask. You bet it does!
"Hexakosioihexekontahexa" is two CDs jam-packed with AGONOIZE's unique aggro club hit sounds – but more versatile, harder, bigger and bigger, this time around! It is, thus, hardly any wonder that AGONOIZE are considered the hottest thing on the electro scene these days: sold-out concerts and overcrowded halls at their festival gigs should speak for themselves.
The double album contains the club-approved floor fillers "Bis das Blut Gefriert", "Seelenbrecher" and "Por*omagcenterfold" plus 19 more onslaughts of electronic mayhem.

Noise Diary |

£13.50 |

Review
"Noise Diary" is the second outing from HOCICO front-shouter Erk Aicrag's solo project, and here the energetic Mexican artist has created a new RABIA SORDA album that outshines his debut in all aspects. His harsh Electroclash/Cyberpunk hybrid sounds more versatile and melodic but also more aggressive and powerful. The self-confessed melody-junkie Erk has spiffed up his sound with more catchy elements than ever before. Vocally, Erk is also a jack of all trades, this time around taking the listener under fire with his most aggressive distorted screams outside of Hocico, angry punk shouts and raw but catchy melodies. With massive production from mixing desk wizard John Fryer, hard beats and driving bass lines, the album will take the club crowds by storm, but then that was to be expected from a man like Mr. Aicrag.
With "Noise Diary", RABIA SORDA prove once again with an energetic fusion of melody and aggression that they are the most interesting and unique hard electro act out there.

| The Birthday Massacre |
Show and Tell |
|
|
£17.75 |
 |
Review
A captivating hybrid of 80s electronica and aggressive guitars, curiously fused with a cinematic quality of melodic progressions, THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE's soundscapes have attracted a diverse and devout fan base. The Toronto based outfit have come a long way since their inception in 2000, and continue to garner new fans worldwide, not only in the industrial and electronic scenes, but the rock community as well. In July of 2002, they self-released the limited edition CD "Nothing and Nowhere" and added a new drummer, Rhim. Two years later, they followed up with the EP, "Violet". 2005 became a big year for THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE. Not only did they add O-En on keyboards, but were signed in Europe by Repo Records and in North America by Metropolis Records. Both labels re-released Violet as a full length album with four extra tracks. A video for the song "Blue" was also launched later that year, produced by NYC artist and director Daniel Ouellette. Since the release of "Walking With Strangers", in September of 2007, THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE have been touring constantly in Europe and North America.
As part of this tour, shortly after the release of the album, they played a gig at Knust (a club in Hamburg Germany that holds about 500 people). It just so happened that permission was given to Crazy Clip, (a local video producer) to record and film the performance. The project then lay dormant for the next 18 months while the band continued touring and then began work on the follow up to "Walking With Strangers" (which is scheduled for release this coming autumn). However, in December of last year Rainbow and Falcore started going through the video and audio recordings from that Hamburg show and decided that although it wasn't planned for a "live" record, there was an intimate, small-club feel to the whole project that they liked. And so, they set about editing and mixing the tracks to form the CD, "Show and Tell".
And now the DVD of the concert has arrived! Besides the main feature, there is also live footage from the two festival appearances at M’era Luna Festival in 2005 and 2006. Furthermore the DVD contains an interview with the band and a picture gallery. This collection will add another dimension to their already sizeable reputation. In addition to being essential listening for current fans of the band, this DVD is also a great introduction to the music of THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE for those who have yet to check them out.

"Hotter" is the brand new single from PARRALOX, synthpop at its best. Great rhythms, wonderful melodies and finely detailed production and programming from John von Ahlen, with the charismatic vocals of vocalist Amii, make this song a real experience. | Samsas Traum |
13 Jahre Lang Dagegen - Anti Bis zum Tod |
|
|
£13.25 |
 |
Review
Thirteen years is a long time. Even longer for a band who are cursed by some but idolised by others and who, on top of that, with almost every album dare to make bold expeditions through virgin musical territory. No question about it, for SAMSAS TRAUM, 13 is the proper number to celebrate and to thank both fans and adversaries alike with a rip-roaring birthday album.
Be warned, all those of you who now lean back, yawning, because you believe that the band are celebrating another anniversary with a contemptible 'best of' album: "13 Jahre Lang Dagegen – Anti Bis zum Tod" is much more than a simple cross section of the band's history.
The structure of the songs and the choice of words for the lyrics is precise, plain and straight to the point. The advantage of this is that the reduction to the bare essentials lends the framework a raw dynamic which can elude no one. In the best style of ENTOMBED and MOTÖRHEAD, your head and foot will unavoidably begin to bob in time to the music. However, if you are afraid that Alex K will mutate into a bearded lout and will allow himself to develop a proper beer belly, you worry in vain. The Kaschte-composed death'n'roll has a subtle nature, which is ruthlessly balanced against reality – however not infrequently with a wink of the eye. The disc with the provocative title (which can be loosely translated into English as "Against It for 13 years – 'Anti' until death") blossoms into the perfect soundtrack for exuberant parties but nevertheless grants insights into an intellectual complexity. Songs such as "Mr. Misanthropia", "Peng – Du Bist Tot", "Alleine unter Menschen" and "Ich Werde da Sein" take no prisoners with regards to both content or music, whereas the eerie ballad "Barfuß", the rocking "Zuhause", the party firecracker "Happy Birthday" and the magical "Lichtbestäubt" provide for the widest variety of moods. Dirty, massive and ironic – for a birthday album of this calibre SAMSAS TRAUM are only to be congratulated!

Pagan Love Songs – Antitainment Compilation Volume 2 |

Review
"Goth clubs come and go, as we know, and not many of them last long enough to be remembered by anyone other than the people who regularly attended them. Some, though, transcend the boundaries of time and space and become established symbols, icons of an era and well known by everyone on the scene, whether they have even actually been to those places or not. 'Pagan Love Songs' is certainly one of these clubs; in the 10 years it's been around it has become synonymous of the German Goth scene (and I mean proper Goth, with a capital G; you know, where music matters more than dressing up in the prescribed uniform of the day and pretending to be on a fashion show), a beacon of hope in a sea of repetitive bleeps and self-obsession...” (Danny Tartaglia - VENDEMMIAN).
On August 27th 1999 the inaugural Pagan Love Songs party took place in the legendary halls of the Zwischenfall club in Bochum, Germany, thereby marking the kick off of one of the most popular and influential Old-School Goth events worldwide.
On August 29th 2009, ten years later, PAGAN LOVE SONGS will not only celebrate its 10th anniversary, but also the release of the second volume of the highly praised "Pagan Love Songs - Antitainment Compilation" series. The first volume, released in 2004, has completely sold out and was being labelled the "Compilation of the year" within weeks of its release.
Once again the Pagan Love Songs founders and DJ brothers R.a.l.f and Thomas Thyssen have compiled a packed double CD set with 36 tracks and nearly 160 minutes of the finest in Gothic Rock, Post Punk, Death Rock and Minimal Wave music. The breathtaking artwork of the compilation was again designed – like the first volume – by DISTURBANITY, a unique German artist who has also worked for the likes of FLIEHENDE STÜRME, FRANK THE BAPTIST etc. in the past.
"Pagan Love Songs - Antitainment Compilation Volume 2" features exclusive tracks and mixes by many artists such as THE EDEN HOUSE, THE SHALLOW GRAVES, JOY/DISASTER, IKON and GROOVING IN GREEN, plus forgotten vinyl treasures like THE SCREAMING MARIONETTES, EVERY NEW DEAD GHOST's first 7", and CANCER BARRACK are available on CD for the very first time. The Thyssen Brothers have incorporated even more rarities like SHOCK THERAPY, IAN BODDY, ARNAUD LAZLAUD, LOVE LIKE BLOOD, THIS BURNING EFFIGY and FOR AGAINST on the tracklist, whilst bands like SOLEMN NOVENA, FANGS ON FUR, FRUSTRATION and THE EXPLODING BOY give a taste of current musical vibes, coining new standards for a future avantgarde.

Review
Here is the long-awaited return of Philadelphia's CESIUM_137. Never an act to stagnate musically, the new album "Identity" finds the band once again pushing the boundaries of electronic music. Seamlessly combining EBM, pop, and trance has been CESIUM_137's modus operandi since their inception, and it quickly becomes evident that they have once again hit their mark. From the opening notes of "Embers", Identity proves to be harder, darker, and more driving than any of C137's previous works, while still delivering the wonderful melodies that have become their signature sound.

Flying High! |

£16.75 |

Review
"Flying High!" is the psychedelic combat cry one of the most excentric and innovative projects arounds. On their ninth studio album, DER BLUTHARSCH continue travelling in the direction they took back in 2005, when the former guru of martial industrial/military pop, Albin Julius, rocketed towards the deep space of psychedelia. One of the most controversial bands of the last decade has staked its claim anew, totally breaking from old images, cliches and tunes. Even on the previous album, "The Philosopher's Stone" the walls of guitars and repetitive chants had already started to turn into someone we would now recognise. "Flying High" takes this change to a programmatic climax.
Yes, DER BLUTHARSCH have mutated into a psychedelic rock monster; their motto, "into new territories!", is symbolic for this mutation, a battle fought not by marching but by flying. Flying high! This album is a weird trip for blown minds through the dark worlds of today's society, passing love, hate and lust on the journey into the center of the sun! The CD comes in a stunning foilblocked, painted folder, with glow in the dark ink.

I Hate God |

Review
After a long hiatus, NOVAKILL return with their best album yet. "I Hate God" builds upon the solid foundation laid by 2005's "Kill Everyone" and their 2003 debut, "Hard Tech for a Hard World", showcasing a more mature sound that has lost none of the edge seen in earlier releases. With new production methods and updated equipment, NOVAKILL deliver a cutting edge sound backed by strong songwriting. From the opening bassline of "Mistaken for God", the sound is instantly NOVAKILL.
This album is so consistently good it's hard to pick stand-outs but "Demonizer" and "We Work" are sure to be club favourites, whilst songs like "Crusad", "Incise" and "Exterminate" show a new-found accessibility and greater depth to NOVAKILL's repetoire, which leaves "Ultrakill", "Blood Elektrik" and the Ultravox cover "Sleepwalk" to continue the band's tradition for stomping Cyberpunk.
As usual, NOVAKILL offer a wealth of bonus material on the CD, including the winners of their "Demonizer" remix competition, wallpaper images for your computer and phone, and a VST instrument plugin, ULTRAkILLER, their most sophisticated synth to date.

Review
The German band HERZSCHLAG are certainly a very mysterious project. Mysterious due to the fact that no-one really knows who's behind the band. We are only allowed to know that HERZSCHLAG is produced by a well known musician who has already attracted a lot of attention with other projects in the global electro/EBM scene.
The first song released, "Steh Auf" ('Stand Up') was a real success and was included on the "Infacted Compilation Volume 4". It is now being followed by "Fest der Liebe" - a debut album but not really a newbie to the scene... SUICIDE COMMANDO meets SITD, AGONOIZE meets REAPER! GRENDEL meets MODULATE! Cyber Electro meets Harsh Electro! 150% club power!!!

£11.25 |

Review
PHOSGORE is a one-man project founded in 2008 by Flo Dietz. After ten years working as an Electro/EBM/Industrial DJ he decided to use his knowledge of the club scene to create music himself. Shortly after the first self-published promotional CD called "Club Domination" was released, PHOSGORE was signed to the German label ProNoize. At that time, tracks like "Hardcore Shit" and "Club Domination" were already being spinned in quite a few clubs. Some sampler contributions followed, such as "Fleisch", released on "Extreme Stoerfrequenz 2" and "Pain Tutorial" as a part of the fourth installment of the famous sampler series "Endzeit Bunkertracks", the latter being a part of many harsh DJ sets all around the globe.
PHOSGORE has also achieved quite a lot with his live shows, which include playing at the Dark Dance Treffen (Germany), the Schatten-Tanz Festival (Germany) and at the world's longest running dark scene club: the Slimelight, London. Where PHOSGORE plays live, only ashes (and the occasional screaming fangirl) remain. When on stage, Flo is joined by the lovely Sonja, who assists him in dominating clubs all over the world. PHOSGORE lacks dark romantic song texts and multi-coloured plastic hair-sporting singers, and there are no bats flying out of anyone's ass. Industrial, electro and hardstyle elements form some of the most unrelenting tracks of today's dark music scene. This is uncompromising music for an uncompromising audience.
Now, the time of waiting is over, as the debut album "Domination" has arrived – twelve original PHOSGORE tracks, each one thumping like a jackhammer on steroids, plus five remixes by some of the biggest names of the business: XOTOX, SAM, FabrikC, STAHLFREQUENZ and, as a premiere, [X]-RX.

Review
SELL SYSTEM are a highly promising synth-/futurepop band based in Turin, Italy. In October 2007 Rikux, Simon & D@x decided to put together their previous experiences as musicians and their common love for electronic music (especially for 80s synth pop and darkwave) to create a band named SELL SYSTEM. The second half of 2008 was full of gigs for the project and as a result of some highly successful shows, the band got signed by the Breakdown label. "Red Room" is an astonishingly fresh and modern sounding debut, an intelligent mix somewhere between DEPECHE MODE and FROZEN PLASMA, and warmly recommended to fans of the genre!

Review
The long-awaited and highly-anticipated debut CD from New York's amazing new young talent, ACCESS TO ARASAKA, has finally arrived. With a steady momentum of buzz from fans and critics over the past year, remix collaborations with ZENTRIERT INS ANTLITZ, APHORISM, and TOTAKEKE, and more-than-well-received compilation appearances for Hymen Records and Tympanik Audio, ACCESS TO ARASAKA now offers the true scope of his capabilities with this innovative new album "Oppidan".
A futuristic journey of a cerebral nature, demonstrating a virtual equinox of expert beatwork and densely-layered atmospheric explorations, "Oppidan" transcends complexity and innovation in electronic music and seems to arrive at the very edge of its own inner space. Dark and cinematic and fascinating to the end, "Oppidan" is truly full of life and genuine mystique, opening the imagination of the listener into epic new dimensions at the hands of a true master of modern electronic composition.

| Omega Lithium |
Dreams in Formaline |
|
|
£13.25 |
 |
Review
If Lithium comes into contact with the skin, it can cause severe chemical burns. In combination with Omega, the last letter of the Greek alphabet, Lithium forms an acoustic drug with a highly addictive quality: OMEGA LITHIUM! Their penchant for chemical substances is also reflected by the title of their debut album, "Dreams in Formaline". Formalin is an aqueous solution, a mix of formaldehyde and methanol which is used to preserve bodies, as well as anatomical and biological preparations.
The band's figurehead is 19 year old vocalist Mya, whose looks are on a par with her powerful and surprisingly deep voice and is definitely a force to be reckoned with by the international competition. Along with Mya, guitarist/main songwriter Malice, bassist/lyricist Zoltan and drummer Torsten have created a powerfully sinister sound which occasionally brings to mind the atmospheric goth metal of acts such as LACUNA COIL and EVANESCENCE, yet is always independent and marked by a variety of influences. OMEGA LITHIUM combine cutting metal riffs, rock elements, electro beats, machine-like coolness and haunting atmospheres at the interface of industrial, goth and metal. Music fans will be hooked on "Stigmata", which has true hit potential and is supported by a darkly morbid video clip with Tim Burton references; "My Haunted Self" with its male-female antiphon and an extremely creepy aura; the title track, "Dreams In Formaline" with strong industrial influences; and the bombastic "Snow Red". Whichever way you look at it: OMEGA LITHIUM must be the first drug which can be recommended without reservations – with no known risks or side-effects!

Privilege Entails Responsibility [Re-Issue] |

£12.75 |

Review
Originally released in the UK only in 2006, "Privilege Entails Responsibility" is the album that established NOBLESSE OBLIGE on the international Indie/Electro scene with early club hits such as "Bitch", "Daddy (Don't Touch Me There)" and "Offensive Nonsense".
Like its successor "In Exile", the album contains a wild mix of musical references, from the gothic blues of "Nervous" and the Prokofiev-sampling of "Caligula" to the Gallic pop tribute "Quel Genre de Garcon" and soundtrack ballad "Night Train to Krakow". The album's raw and energetic yet gloomy art-pop combined with the band's trademark lyrical wit and dark humour has gained NOBLESSE OBLIGE a growing cult following, resulting in more than 300 live shows over the past 4 years.
This re-issue of the album contains previously unreleased bonus material such as cover versions of Eric Burdon's "When I Was Young" and Stephanie de Monaco's "Ouragan/Irresistible" which were recorded for Edwin Brienen's 2008 arthouse movie “L’Amour Toujours” in which Valerie and Sebastian also co-starred as actors. Also included are eight remixes from befriended artists as diverse as Musiccargo (AMONTILLADO MUSIC), Toulouse Low Trax (KREIDLER/SALON DES AMATEURS), Mona Mur, En Esch (ex-KMFDM), Avius and Laurent Ho. Finally, the album also includes two remixes of songs from "In Exile" – the band's own disco edit of "Tanz, Mephisto!" and Mark Reeder's remix of "Duel".
This is the chance to rediscover the early music of one of the most unusual and exciting European bands around, available on limited edition CD with new artwork and a fold-out poster.

Review
Japanese psyborgs PSYDOLL return from the workshop, having spent the last few years since their first European release "I PSYDOLL" perfecting the new album "10 Spyglasses" on live stages across the world. The result is ten tracks of their distinctive brand of gothic industrial metal pulverised through a manga-blender and performed by the trio of escaped, renegade psyborgs: Loveless on digital percussion, Ucchi on guitar and Nekoi on keyboards and vocals. These all-new tracks offer PSYDOLL's unique take on the alien world around them, with twisted fairytales of ghosts resting next to odes to the seedy side of Tokyo, all regaled with Nekoi’s feline-enhanced vocals and each rich in a swathe of glitch electronics, construction-yard beats and searing guitar. Featuring tracks that have become firm fan favourites and sealed their reputation as a must-see live act, "10 Spyglasses" is an essential purchase for fans of the darker side of Japan.

Review
John Valasis is a professional sound designer and a very talented young musician from Greece. Although he has been working as a producer and a mixing engineer for other artists for quite a few years while also composing his own music, this is the first time that John has officially released a part of his recent work under the moniker POORDREAM.
His aim is to decode the secret messages of a dreamy world by composing melancholic melodies and intricate, uncanny sounds, all put together within a masterly combination of elaborate programming and field recordings. "Immaterial Monarch" is his own adaptation of a truly exceptional experimental music conception, the absolute experience of an internal trip, in which no 'strict' sound forms belong. Drawing influences mainly from the "Zeitgeist" movie series, "Immaterial Monarch" features 3 tracks by POORDREAM, which carefully blend genres such as IDM, ambient, electronica and experimental world music, as well as the same-titled track remixed by no less than SEVEN different artists!
Since all the participating musicians come from different musical backgrounds (although they share common thoughts on how to deliver passionate and exciting music) this album proves to be an absolutely unique journey towards humankind's deepest feelings. Anger, despair, social and personal breakdown, man's self-exploration, the brain as the slave of the strong, and socially constructed loneliness portrayed as a mental cage for each and every one of us... These are only a few of those nighttime thoughts that, carefully but still chaotic, build up POORDREAM's futuristic world.

Review
"In the year 3001, infernal solar storms swept over the earth and made the surface uninhabitable. The few survivors of this apocalypse withdrew beneath the ground and founded a new Babylon: the first city of the future. But the new Babylonians aren't alone. On the day of the extinction not only the earth lost its face." (Messages from the future, 01/63125AE)
But the apocalypse gave birth to a new music: LUTHERION – a fascinating, sombre band, who in a gripping manner create a cleverly thought-out total work of art comprising music, German lyrics, artwork and videos, in order to chronicle for us the purification and its aftermath. Seth (vocals, programming), Jawa (bass) and Jón (guitars) mix dark gothic rock with classical arrangements, danceable electronic rhythms with metal elements and delicate piano chords with powerful vocals. With this magical music they were able to amass a large community of fans long before the release of their CD. The messengers from the future were able to use modern media skillfully and within a short time had drawn over 125,000 visitors to their MySpace site. With their first full-length album, "Kosmogenesis", everyone can devote themselves to the perfectly polished (both musically and lyrically) history which is narrated to us from the future. And with the opening of the underground headquarters www.lutherion.de the total multimedia experience comes fully alive for the listener. Videos, artwork and music fuse together into a new, seductive world. LUTHERION are not just another dark electronic rock band. They are artists who appeal to each of the consumer's senses: eyes, ears, legs, intellect and heart.
LUTHERION are that which many other bands would like to be: more than just music. They are the audiovisual messengers of a new world order, in which everything from the past no longer exists and from which there is no escape.

Review
"Side Scan" is without a doubt one of the most eagerly awaited Electro debuts of the Year! "Such a beautiful song. What a fantastic voice. It actually took about 14 hours before I was satisfied with the remix. I think it's one of my best remixes..." Claus Larsen (LEAETHERSTRIP)
LYRONIAN's "Side Scan" is a systematic and expressive mixture of driving electro, noisy guitars and catchy melodies. Whereas "Life is a Show", "The Place Above” and "Matthew the Clown" have the potential to be dancefloor fillers, ballads like "Broken Crockery" and "If the Dark Is Beauty" with a strong guitar factor preserve style conformity and are good for listening to in the comfort of your own home. The charismatic and polyphonic singing gets under the skin and coalesces feelings of profoundness, emotionality, melancholy and hope as well. LYRONIAN have truly succeeded in creating a symbiosis between the sounds of the 80s and modern powerpop without neglecting the guitar aspects. Every song takes a gloomy atmosphere and turns it into a rousing 'musical robe' without endangering the clear line and originality of the piece. Listening to "Side Scan" again and again will lead to absolute addiction!
The first 1000 copies of this release come with a strictly limited edition nine-track bonus CD of exclusive tracks and remixes by high profile acts such as LEAETHERSTRIP, UNTERART, CEPHALGY, ACCESSORY and BEBORN BETON.

Review
Having smashed in with their intensity and energy at virtually every major UK festival this year, including headline performances at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Download to name a few, THE PRODIGY release a new single "Take Me To The Hospital", the third taken from the hit album "Invaders Must Die". Still riding high in the UK charts, it is among the top five selling albums of 2009 and has reaffirmed the band's status as true legends of both dance and rock.
"Take Me To The Hospital" is the exhilarating car crash sound of all three members... a sound so frenetic, unhinged and deeply bass driven it could only come from the minds of Liam, Keith and Maxim. Steeped in the history early 90s rave that THE PRODIGY themselves pioneered, but given a suitably awe-inspiring 21st century reboot, this ain’t no retro banger - it's a future classic.

Review
Sharpen your fangs, the Helsinki Vampires are back. And this time, they're "Back in Blood". THE 69 EYES return with their ninth studio album, which has been hailed a latter-day "Appetite for Destruction". With blood on their hands and AC/DC on their stereo, the bloodsuckers have combined their past to focus on the future. Turning their back on the comic book glam of "Angels", The Eyes have opened a heavier chapter in their musical career. For the first time this decade, honorary sixth vampire Johnny Lee Michaels has been granted temporary leave from the batcave and Matt Hyde (SLAYER/MONSTER MAGNET) has been invited over the threshold. "He's cleaned the table and dusted the skeletons!" singer Jyrki 69 laughs. "It's like when Rick Rubin helped THE CULT discover themselves on 'Electric' - we made a similar spiritual journey with Matt." Once again THE 69 EYES have their finger on the pulse of darkness with 12 goth'n'roll anthems guaranteed to rock the crypt. "We haven't made a concept album but nearly all the songs have something to do with the undead or at least horror as a genre." The album opens with title track "Back in Blood", which is a fast-paced wake-up call to the vampire king who's been asleep for centuries and is now ready to rock. Blood is the new black and it's never tasted this good: "2000 years – now, baby I’m back!" he sings, licking his lips. Jyrki describes the song as: "More Mötley than Mercy but with a Crüe made of Sisters." If you want blood, you've got it!
This limited edition also contains a bonus DVD.

Review
The awesome solo album from ARCANA Mastermind Peter Bjärgö.
During the first few months of this year, the mentor of this legendary Swedish cult act has been busy recording a masterpiece in his very own studio. "A Wave of Bitterness" has turned out to be a Dark Ambient jewel with subtle leanings towards other styles too, the most visible of these being the Ethno sounding percussion, lending an atmosphere that bears a slight resemblance to DEAD CAN DANCE. Simply stunning.

Review
AUTODAFEH - the "Re:lectro" EP is Electronic Music for Body and Mind...
AUTODAFEH, based in Sweden, are definitely on the fast-track to the top of their genre. Their debut album, "Hunt for Glory" quickly made its way to the top of the German Alternative Charts and found a home on many dance floors and radio playlists across the globe. Soon after, the band was requested by FRONT 242 to be the opening act for their tour stops in Sweden.
Following on from this success, AUTODAFEH have now put together this very special EP release, a tribute to the "old-school" style of Electro/New Wave and early Electronic Body Music. This EP offers some catchy and very danceable tracks that continue to show the unique talent the band has for taking from the old and turning it into something new. While "Re:lectro" offers some dance floor anthems, it is also very radio friendly and sure to please.
AUTODAFEH continue to perform live across Europe in clubs and festivals and their fan base is growing exponentially. They are currently preparing a second full-length album to be released around October 2009.

The Waste Land |

Review
The German ritual-folk formation :GOLGATHA: was founded in 2004 by Christoph Donarski. The first full length album "The Waste Land" was originally released after two compilation tracks appeared in an edition of 100 hand-numbered CD-Rs. On "The Waste Land" sinister and pessimistic soundscapes unfold and spread fragmented allusions and remarks on spiritual death and cultural clash. The symbolic name of :GOLGATHA: - which is the execution hill in Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified - was never more fitting than in this early apocalyptic soundtrack for an Inner Cinema, carried by ritual drums, dark drones, mysterious sounds and sacred voices.
For this re-release the original sound has been totally re-mastered and appears more powerful than ever before. The original artwork is complemented by bleak photos from the same era to complete the image. This CD contains two original versions of tracks later remixed by DAWN & DUSK ENTWINED for "Sang Graal" plus two bonus tracks: "In the Crystal Cage" from "In the Crystal Cage" compilation (2004) and "Shred your skin" from the SAW II soundtrack by CHARLIE CLOUSER (2006).
"The Waste Land" is a terrifying soundtrack for the Kali Yuga, the darkest of ages.

Review
After three years of silence following the release of their successful album "We Collide", MESH return with "Only Better", the pre-release single to the forthcoming LP "A Perfect Solution" to be released in October. Those who are familiar with this British act will know that neither title is meant to be taken as optimistically as they may first appear, and those who let the music take effect quickly realize that it is precisely the opposite, for MESH have become harder, dirtier, and darker on "Only Better" than we have become accustomed to. The former synth-pop heroes are not afraid to break from convention and make use of guitars either, which will likely raise some eyebrows, particularly on the exclusive B-side "Shattered Glass".
Both songs are perfect previews to the style of the new album, both in music and lyrical content. Single and album deal with the less beautiful aspects of a relationship, painful compromises, fateful dependencies upon each other and because of each other, relationships whose best days are behind them yet are continued out of fear of giving them up rather than an emotional connection.
If that were not enough, the tracks also feature the incomparably melodic vocals of MESH frontman Mark Hockings, who is definitely to be regarded as one of the best singers in the genre.

Review
Finally, this long awaited document is to be made available!
Japan has been a wasteland for German Industrial and/or Power Electronics bands for many years, but in 2003, GENOCIDE ORGAN entered the motherland of noise. Invited by Teito and MSBR, GENOCIDE ORGAN played two remarkable shows in Tokyo. The first took place in a typical noise/hardcore club called 20000V, and the second at a small theatre called Die Pratze. Because of the different locations and atmospheres, G.O. prepared two completely different sets. While the material at 20000V featured tracks from what was, at the time, the forthcoming album "In-Konflikt", plus a selection of powerful, well-known tracks, the setlist at Die Pratze featured a calmer and more peaceful atmostpher integrated into a theatrical-type performance. Though very different, both gigs represent the repertoire of G.O., which makes this band more than just a phenomenon of one genre.
The two shows are presented here on DVD in their entirety, edited from three different camera angles by Frank Merten of Seismic Wave Factory, known for the visuals of Herbst9 and Land:Fire. The DVD is professionally mastered and features a fully animated menu.
In 2007, GENOCIDE ORGAN returned to Tokyo for two more shows, both hosted at 20000V, and again, each show had a different setlist. The audio CD in this collection features a selection of the best tracks from both evenings. Many had never been released or played live before, while some 'old favorites' appear here as completely different versions. The quality of the recording is amazing, and you will feel the full power of these two gigs.

Review
ROTERSAND take up the fight against conformity and standardisation. The influence of media and marketing strategies increasingly undermines the significance of individuality. In order to extend and facilitate access to our personal data and consumer profiles, the system has declared a war on error; a war against the unpredictable, the imponderable, the 'error' in every one of us. It is ROTERSAND's aim to intentionally cause flaws in that system as a means of civil disobedience. They oppose the system with a clear message: "It's my life, it's my mind, it's my heart – I'm not a digit". To prevent us from eventually becoming mere cogs in a perfectly synchronized data exploitation system, ROTERSAND call upon us to "Be less transparent, be less predictable, be an 'error' in this ever-refining matrix of the commerce machinery!”
"War on Error" contains seven exclusive mixes and one track not available anywhere else ("Dirty"). This supercharged E.P. will take the electro dancefloors by storm and also recruit an army of new fans. Once again ROTERSAND prove that not only do their sales figures rank at the top of the international electro scene, but also that their massive tracks set the clubs ablaze and their intelligently produced songs captivate live audiences the world over.
This mini-album comes in a precious digipak and presents the lyrics in an atmospheric booklet which visualizes the topics. The booklet is designed by Ingo Römling, whose artwork has already graced the most recent releases of ASP, L'ÂME IMMORTELLE and IN STRICT CONFIDENCE.

Feel Like Me |

£12.75 |

Review
A cult band who almost slipped into oblivion return with a magnificent new album. PERFIDIOUS WORDS present what is only their third studio album in ten years, but some things need time in order to become fully realised. "Feel Like Me" is not only fully realised: it's perfect! An accomplished electro-pop album which will satisfy the longing of many fans. Whereas some bands have spent years indulging in wild experiments or creating generic chart-friendly mush, PERFIDIOUS WORDS create music which is a perfect mixture of the danceable, the sensitive and the catchy, without spillingn over into the realms of triviality. Warm, dark vocals combine with insanely catchy synth sounds to form a fervent album of electronic music. Full of spirit, full of sounds; exactly that which every electro-pop fan has waited in vain for years for...
Here it is! The ultimate work, which shows that after over 20 years, this genre is a long way from coming to an end. Those who liked the early works of YAZOO and ERASURE can't afford to pass this electro-pop pearl by. These aren't the 'sounds of the universe', simply single stars in the dark sky of electronic music, which shine all the brighter for it!
In addition to the CD, the album comes with an 80 minute DVD, which proves beyond doubt that PERFIDIOUS WORDS are exceptional musicians who understand their craft. With this concert recording, some studio sessions and a video clip, people will be asking themselves in astonishment where this band have been during these last few years in which we mourned the old gods, who with their most recent releases only disappointed.

Review
CLAN OF XYMOX already proven with the taster single "Emily" that after almost 25 years, their creative potential is a long way from being exhausted. And now it's finally here! The long-awaited, brilliant new full-length album from these living legends. Elegiacally beautiful, melancholically powerful, emotionally stirring. Shimmering goth rock guitars meet modern electronic sounds; pulsating walls of sound meet no-nonsense rhythms, and everything is crowned with dark vocals which are heart-rending, full of hymnal yearning, yet powerful. Classic darkwave of the olden days combines with the electronically-orientated modern era to form a fascinating and unique creation which combines masterly, mighty rock songs and sensitive ballads.
So CLAN OF XYMOX make the perfect transition from their beginnings as one of the most important bands on the legendary 4AD label through to the modern age of the 21st century. "In Love We Trust" forms the perfect high point to a path which once began with "Clan of Xymox" and which was developed further with "Medusa". This album will come to be mentioned in the same breath as classics such as "Disintegration" from THE CURE and "Victorialand" from THE COCTEAU TWINS.
This first edition of "In Love We Trust" is released as a lavish 6-panel digipak with an extensive booklet which perfectly sets the visual scene for the story and which can be described without exaggeration as a work of art. A collectors' piece which no fan of CLAN OF XYMOX should be without!

Review
In 2003, Pete Brough, founding member of German band TWELVE DRUMMERS DRUMMING, and Ralf Aussem, guitarist from the original 12DD cast and mastermind behind the hugely successful band SUN, joined forces with vocalist Carlo van Putten (THE CONVENT) and collectively gave life to DEAD GUITARS. In 2007 they were joined by Patrick Schmitz on drums and Sven-Olaf Dirks on bass guitar, a down-to-earth rhythm section providing a solid foundation within the DEAD GUITARS family. After the success of their 2007 debut "Airplanes" and their extensive European tour with THE MISSION in 2008 the band returned to the studio to record the new album. This time three members of THE MISSION collaborated and performed on the new album, Wayne Hussey ("Isolation"), Mark G. Thwaite ("Pristine") and Richie Vernon ("Blue"). The result is an album with 12 unique tracks representing the whole DEAD GUITARS universe including mid- and up-tempo tracks like "Miss America" and "Pristine", strong epic/psychedelic songs like "Silver Cross River" and moody pieces like "Lazy Moon" and "Raise Your Flags". The songs are covered by strong lyrics based on powerful and melancholic song-writing.
"Flags" is a demonstration of the band's capabilities to define their own musical style whilst being comprehensible and enjoyable to listen to.

Review
Pagan Ambient with massive Folk influences. WARMONGER from Poland are a brand new act, reminiscent of very early MORTIIS and late BURZUM, with medieval elements built on flutes, pipes and percussion. "Tyranny of the Cross" features both martial tracks and ambient interludes, creating the impression of a soundtrack to an epic movie ('Lord of the Rings', anyone?) It is an album that evokes ancient times and enchanting forests.

Review
ASSEMBLAGE 23 and Tom Shear – there's no need to introduce the man behind this figurehead of electronic music. For almost ten years, he has provided the scene with a string of hits.
Still, his new album demands a closer look. It is not just his sixth studio album – "Compass" is a lot more than that. This album is the uncompromising presentation of Tom Shear's biggest strength, the composition of dreamingly beautiful ballads, relentlessly catchy tunes and club hits that will draw all the party animals to the dance floor. He is a real master of his trade, and on this newest work, he has achieved the feat of sticking to the sound all ASSEMBLAGE 23 fans love and hope for, while still creating a powerful and exiting new vibe. Listening to this album and discovering "Compass" in its whole glory is pure fun; it fascinates and electrifies.
All this combined makes sure that "Compass" is not just a treat for Shear's big fan base but will also excite all those who have not yet discovered the fascination of ASSEMBLAGE 23. The single "Spark" has already proven a strong and promising harbinger – but who would have thought that Tom Shear might surpass this benchmark in such a glorious way. For all those who love straightforward but also sophisticated and substantial electronic music, this album is not to be missed!
The very limited deluxe edition of "Compass" comes complete with bonus CD and in special, and very beautiful packaging.

| Perfidious Words |
|
|
 |

| Rotersand |
War on Error |
|
|
£10.50 |

| Clan of Xymox |
In Love We Trust |
|
|
£12.75 |

Review
Following on from the highly sucessful limited boxset "Reformation 01", Irish/English duo VNV NATION are set to release the full length album "Of Faith, Power and Glory". This album sees the band reach a new level musically. More soulful and raw than ever before, VNV NATION are moving into new musical territories with their own distinctive sound. "Of Faith, Power and Glory" is set to be the band's strongest and most profoundly evocative release yet, taking a big leap beyond what they had achieved on their last album "Judgement".
The album features a cover designed by Polish graphic artist Michal Karcz, who also created the artwork for "Judgement". It is undoubtedly one of his finest works, featuring an image of a monument in the middle of a wasteland, a metaphor for all our greatest hopes and solemn intentions, as well as the brutal extremes that we are capable of, the schizophrenic nature of human beings and the eternal struggle to move forward.
In keeping with the band's environmental principles, the new CD will come in extremely environmentally friendly packaging, using only recycled paper, vegetable ink and water based glue. Even the print on the CD uses vegetable ink. The packaging weighs 40-50% less than normal packaging which means it uses less fuel when it's transported, which reduces the carbon footprint of the CD production. The best part is that it looks great too!

Review
The news that Dependent would be reopening its doors has caused quite a stir in the press and on internet fan forums, and after two years the label now returns with "Septic VIII", beginning again just as it started in January 1999, when "Septic I" became the first release on the label. As always, the latest "Septic" installment offers the perfect mixture of promising newcomers on the electro/EBM scene, plus previously unreleased tracks from popular more-established artists. Once again, "Septic VIII" combines a wealth of fresh sounds from all corners of the scene together with several big names. For everyone who has been drowning in the sea of MySpace mediocrity, this compilation will shine like a beacon of exceptional quality! Nearly 80 minutes of mostly exclusive material!
