LEAETHER STRIP start us off this week with an EXTREMELY limited edition record "Power Strip" that was specially conceived/manufactured for the first ever live performance by LEAETHER STRIP in the United States. It includes two all-new instrumental themes written for this release and two additional tracks. Limited to 491 copies worldwide and supported by two "fan sets" and an ultra-limited (24 copies) hand-numbered USB flash drive that contains the artwork and audio tracks from the "Power Strip" 12" vinyl. The drive also features a laser pointer and a lanyard.
Hailed as one of the most innovative new industrial bands, ANGELSPIT return with their new album "Hideous and Perfect", a confronting audio-visual statement set to corrupt listeners the world over. "Hideous and Perfect" promises to be ANGELSPIT's darkest release to date with its sonic textures ranging from hard, pounding beats, to organic, atmospheric samples, topped off by a feverishly powerful male and female dual vocal assault. PLEASE NOTE: the release date for ANGELSPIT's Black Kingdom - Red Kingdom has been delayed to 25th August.
THE PRODIGY release a new single "Take Me To The Hospital", the third taken from the hit album "Invaders Must Die". Still riding high in the UK charts, it is among the top five selling albums of 2009. "Take Me To The Hospital" is the exhilarating car crash sound of all three members... a sound so frenetic, unhinged and deeply bass driven it could only come from the minds of Liam, Keith and Maxim. Steeped in the history early 90s rave that THE PRODIGY themselves pioneered, but given a suitably awe-inspiring 21st century reboot, this ain't no retro banger - it's a future classic.
"Rio" was DURAN DURAN's second studio album and is as representative of the 1980s at its best as it gets. A fusion of style and substance ensures that even two decades after its release it remains as listenable and danceable as ever. This highly limited 2CD special edition is made up of the UK release of the album, the original U.S. album remixes, EMI Manchester Square demos, B-Sides, remixes and other surprises.
"Musique" was originally released in 2000, the first offering to take THEATRE OF TRAGEDY into a new direction. This exclusive re-release brings back one of the band's most revolutionary steps ever and to this day it remains one of the most intriguing albums in the band's discography, as well as their ticket to the world of industrial music. "Assembly", originally released in 2002, was the band's fifth studio album and their second foray into the world of industrial music. Here we see an excellent mix of gothic rock with industrial and synthpop. It was also the band's last album with Liv Kristine on vocals. Both re-issues have been digitally remastered and are released in new digipak editions with three bonus tracks.
NORMA LOY is a cult French band of the Cold Wave era. They released the original version of "Rewind/T.Vision" on vinyl in 1986. Now on its third re-release, we find this classic album available for the first time ever on CD. All tracks have been completely remastered and five bonus tracks have been added, four of which were recorded live during the project's legendary reunion gig in 2006.

Review Hailed as one of the most innovative new industrial bands, ANGELSPIT return with their new album "Hideous and Perfect", a confronting audio-visual statement set to corrupt listeners the world over. "Hideous and Perfect" promises to be ANGELSPIT's darkest release to date with its sonic textures ranging from hard, pounding beats, to organic, atmospheric samples, topped off by a feverishly powerful male and female dual vocal assault. The duo's sonic exploration and creative process took them out of the studio and into an abandoned shipping yard in Sydney Harbour, where they recorded much of the album's pounding industrial percussion. They fashioned and sampled handmade acoustic and electronic instruments, imparting a unique organic sonic texture to the album, while also giving a nod to the experimental roots of industrial music. A vicious concoction of industrial guitar riffs, clever hooks and pathologically disturbed synths, making up 12 harsh, heavy and deliberate tracks set to self destruct, "Hideous and Perfect" is challenging as it is catchy. The cyber-punk track "Ditch the Rest" opens the album, with its crunching malicious guitars and aggressive percussion setting the dynamic for what is to follow. "Cold Hard Cash" is next, combining deceptively sweet vocals with grinding rhythms and anarchic synth melodies. The remaining tracks range from the hypnotic pounding analogue hell of "Sleep Now", to the elegantly deranged "Let Them Eat Distortion" and to "Fuck the Revolution"'s brutal and unforgettable rock'n'roll trip to insanity. Cinematically chilling instrumental tracks provide some respite from the otherwise intense mood. Zoog and Destroyx's turbulent vocal onslaught deals thematically with an apathetic cashed-up society who are simply 'bored to death'. ANGELSPIT's double-edged lyrics can be poetically poignant, at other times witty, but are at all times severely potent. And their aesthetic concept is equally as iconic as their musical statement, as they continue to develop their fierce design and fashion aesthetic. Visually arresting photography and bold typography characterises the album's striking artwork making "Hideous and Perfect" a defining album of the industrial genre. Packaged in an eco-wallet digipak. Review These songs were composed during the last days of the Bush/Blair era and reflect RAPOON's feeling of isolation and disconnection from any part of the political process, plus a lack of identification with the prevailing air of hostility and intolerance generated by this pair of religious xenophobes. The war in Iraq and the subsequent lies and propaganda surrounding it engendered in them a feeling of revulsion and powerlessness. Once again it was "unpatriotic" to criticize or protest against the government's actions, and there was a rise in nationalism and extremist views. These songs are a retreat into the one place that no government has yet found a way, the free and open spaces of the mind. They are spontaneous and meditative reflections looking for an inner peace in a world made ugly by hatred and war. They symbolize a kind of "walkabout" and a reconnection with a lost sense of belonging spiritually, intellectually and physically to the world we inhabit. In a broader sense they also re-affirm long held sympathies with the thoughts of writers and philosophers such as Camus, Sartre and Burroughs, and the profound wisdom of eastern philosophies such as Taoism and Zen. Review A collection of early ritual works from this legendary Belgian project. HYBRYDS present here their visions of rituals in the form of rhythmical compositions built on repetitive percussive loops crowned with layers of numerous archaic instruments, aided by vocal spells and atmospheric soundscapes with minor electronic additions. Recorded between 1986 and 1993 with the participation of many well-known artists, incl. AH-CAMA SOTZ and VIDNA OBNAMA. Review This legendary release has been out of print for ages, but is now lined up for very limited re-press! The term 'industrial music' is actually owed to this American culture pioneer. It was Monte who came up with the term "industrial music for industrial people" in the mid 70s and thus gave the name to THROBBING GRISTLE's 'Industrial Records'. Building up an underground reputation as a particularly volatile performer with a dangerous and antisocial aesthetic, his later recordings with THROBBING GRISTLE and PSYCHIC TV are highly regarded among collectors. Review After several years of silence, the two former members of MALOCHIA (1995-2001), Patrick and Rene present their debut album as the Amsterdam-based electro/darkwave band CONTRAST. Review CAISARON is the name of a German electronic trio founded in 2006. "Tief in Mir" is the follow up to their successful debut "One Way" released in 2007. Without a doubt, this EP is destined to conquer the dance floors with a lot of original material - namely "Deep inside", "Two Souls" and "Wenn der Letzte Tag Verblasst" - tracks that have exactly what the ever-hungry club crowd wants to hear nowadays. Massive 4/4 beats, a few anthemic melodies mixed in as well, and two pleasant voices to top it all off. But CAISARON also present a mellow and calmer face on the EP with the two titles "Diese Bürde" and "Liebe in Mir Vernichtet" both of which explore a darker and more melancholic melodic spectrum grounded on very specious down-tempo rhythms. In addition to the six original compositions on this CD, there are a whole bunch of remixes from several musical peers, including both tracks from the debut and from this current EP. One mix that really does stand out is the LETZTE INSTANZ by M. Stolz of "Diese Bürde", with its playful violin touches, the wonderful string arrangements, and elaborate rhythmic construction. Review ASP: for years this name has stood for the most successful German gothic rock band and, irrespective of genre, for a concert recommendation par excellence. Review Back in print at last, this album has been unavailable for about a year. On paper, this collaboration between JELLO BIAFRA and MINISTRY seemed like a match made in industrial punk heaven, and thankfully the first release from LARD lived up to these expectations. Both parties seemed to have taught the other side a thing or two: JELLO BIAFRA is more focused than usual, while Alain Jourgensen and Paul Barker from MINISTRY sound a lot more punky and loose. The percussion, courtesy of Bill Rieflin and the late Jeff Ward, is firmly in an industrial style - all mechanized metallic thrashing - but it works just fine with the material. Review NEON were a true cult icon of the new wave/gothic scene of the 80s and the first version of this amazing 'Best Of' came out in November 2008, but the first run was sold out immediately. Fortunately there is now to be a second edition of this majestic piece! What makes this edition is something special? Firstly it is a totally remastered version. Secondly the tracklisting is correct (finally!). There was a mistake on the first edition: the track "Spiders" was replaced with a remix of "Drivin'" (Tape of Darkness version). The original mistake was on the Tapes Of Darkness 12" (1982), then the same mistake was on Boxed 7xCD set (2005), then it was on the first edition of "Memories" - just like a curse lasting from 1982 till 2008! Review "Infection" is the first release from Milan-based LSD PROJECT, a mix of drum machines, synthesizers and hard melodies, with distorted vocals and vocoder. Review PORTION CONTROL are a legendary British electronic and industrial band formed in London in 1980. The band refers to its own musical style as electropunk or hard rhythmic electronics. This album sees the band reach a new level musically. More soulful and raw than ever before, VNV NATION are moving into new musical territories with their own distinctive sound. "Of Faith, Power and Glory" is set to be the band's strongest and most profoundly evocative release yet, taking a big leap beyond what they had achieved on their last album "Judgement". The album features a cover designed by Polish graphic artist Michal Karcz, who also created the artwork for "Judgement". It is undoubtedly one of his finest works, featuring an image of a monument in the middle of a wasteland, a metaphor for all our greatest hopes and solemn intentions, as well as the brutal extremes that we are capable of, the schizophrenic nature of human beings and the eternal struggle to move forward. In keeping with the band's environmental principles, the new CD will come in extremely environmentally friendly packaging, using only recycled paper, vegetable ink and water based glue. The packaging weighs 40-50% less than normal packaging which means it uses less fuel when it's transported, which reduces the carbon footprint of the CD production. Review HEX RX, the brainchild project of Roger Jarvis (known for his infamous cross-over industrial band KEVORKIAN DEATH CYCLE) return with the project's second album "D". On this newest release Roger has brought aboard two new collaborators in the form of Nick Viola of FRACTURED TRANSMISSION and Daemon Noir of KUBIKZAHL. This second HEX RX album boasts not only 12 full new tracks and two remixes, but also a more noisey raw edge in contrast to the material on their first release "X". While the album manages not to stray too far from its roots with dancefloor hits like "EVISCERATE" and "SHREDS" and adrenaline pumping heart-stoppers like "REVOLT" and "KILL", this sophomore effort also shows a darker, more twisted side in songs like "HATE" and "FADE AWAY".
