	Review 'The Slip' is the eighth proper studio release for NIN. The music here resembles types of songs from 'With Teeth', 'Year Zero' and 'Ghosts'. Reznor is generally known for taking big steps forward. Although he is alienating some older fans and gaining new ones, he is always ensuring NIN's longevity. 'The Slip' is a very good record more on the lines of 'With Teeth'. A step back and not forward. But even Reznor needs a break from being epic every once in a while! Laibach	Kunst Der Fuge			£13.49
	Review Brand new studio release from the legendary Slovenian industrial band Laibach. "Kunst Der Fuge" is the laibachian interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach's work "The Art of Fugue" (Die Kunst der Fuge). The majority of the material was created in 2006 and premiered the same year live at Bachfest in Leipzig. Bach himself lived and worked in Leipzig from 1723 till the end of his life in 1750. In this period he also wrote the "Art of Fugue", one of his most mysterious and baffling works. "The Art of Fugue" is a collection of fugues and canons that display the full gamut of fugal transformational techniques, such as augmentation and diminution. The theory that the work was intended as an intellectual exercise rather than for performance is borne out by the fact that no instruments are specified in the score. But although the "Art of Fugue" (the title was not Bach's own) reveals Bach in his most academic and puzzle-solving guise, it is no mere pedantry and there is much here of great energy and inspiration. Since Bach did not specify any instrumentation, the big question is, what instrument or instruments should the "Art of Fugue" be played on? There are many keyboard recordings, but versions are available for everything from saxophone quartet to orchestra. Since the work is very much based on mathematic algorithms, Laibach decided to use computer and computer program as the key instrument, providing a very special electronic interpretation and showing that J.S. Not really, because this remixed re-issue (think Iggy Pop re-visiting the mixing desk for "Raw Power") of one of the pioneering works of Die Krupps does not sound at all like the whimsy 80s it was created in. And although it stands in the tradition of its hometown's electronic heritage (Düsseldorf brought you Kraftwerk, Neu!, DAF) Die Krupps' "Volle Kraft Voraus" already anticipates notions made much later in Vancouver, Chicago, Detroit or Brussels. Nowadays considered to be a foreboding classic that crosses electro- punk and synth-pop its original appeal was somewhat lost due to a shoddy mix when originally released. 	Review With numerous Top 10 singles to their credit, over a million records sold worldwide, and videos that were universally considered to be icons of 80s culture, Information Society has a long history as one of electronic music's most daring and groundbreaking acts. During a period in the late 1990s, the trio took a break to pursue individual projects. The album was released under the Information Society name with the title "Don't Be Afraid". 	Review Klaus Schulze is a visionary and a dreamer. For a long time he was dreaming of collaborating with the extremely gifted vocalist Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance) and his dream came true! 	Review Les Fragments de la Nuit is a blossoming band created in 2005 by Michel Villar (piano) and Ombeline Chardes (violin), score composers for filmS. In order to play their pieces on stage, they decided to set up a quintet made up of three violins, a cello and a piano. Their music, ranging from tragic to epic and atmospheric was greeted by audiences with unexpected enthusiasm. Some see in it the influence of repetitive music composers such as Philip Glass or Steve Reich, others the melancholic emotion found in the works of Arvö Part or Canadians Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Encouraged by such fervour, Fragments de la Nuit have played their music to a growing number of passionate spectators, keeping in mind their motto: "Our music is poetry in which words are notes, a memory in which images are dreams". The ensemble have recently joined Portuguese label Equilibrium Music for the release of their first widely available album, "Musique du Crépuscule", a vision of night wrapped in mystery, a night haunted by spectral chants, under the spell of epic, poignant strings and sustained by hypnotic piano pulsations. Its nocturnal universe oozes with hybrid ink, enveloping hidden emotions tainted with melancholy and voluptuousness. A neo-classical or post-nocturnal piece, "Musique du Crépuscule" has many different faces. 	Review Wolfskin is one of Europe's finest and most original ritual ambient acts. Over the years they, along with their partners of Forgotten Blood, are surely responsible for putting Portugal on the dark-ambient map. "The Hidden Fortress" is both their first and last output, originally released as a cassette tape back in 1995, Johan Aernus decided to close the Wolfskin circle with a remastered and partially re-recorded edition of that same record. On his last journey to the hidden fortress, he took a companion with him, Swedish audio-genius Objekt4 gave the whole record a new life & dynamic. This record was years in the making, no risks were taken to prevent this from becoming a worthy testament to one of the most exciting dark-ambient acts Europe has known.
